  1. Perfect! That's exactly how much I needed. Thank you!
  2. I've performed several searches here on the forums and on the Internet in general for this but haven't found anything useful. I'm hoping someone on the forums can help me out. I'd like to find a site that has a summary of the class story for the Jedi Knight. I played a Knight a while back, but stopped to focus on other classes. I've decided to play the Knight again but I've completely forgotten the storyline. I'm hoping there is a site out there, or a post here, that summarizes the storyline so I can refresh my memory. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  3. Yes. You use the credits you get for dailies to buy cartel packs from the GTN. When you open the packs you will find the rep items inside. You get the rep items no matter how you purchase the packs.
  4. Agreed. Please bind to Legacy. Aside from that, I'm enjoying this new system.
  5. As far as I know, the level 50 FPs are tuned for four players. So, I don't think you can solo any of them, most especially as a new 50. Dailies are an excellent way of making credits at 50. I do Blackhole dailies first thing every day, which gives me lots of extra cash. I highly recommend entering the WZ and FP queues and then doing dailies while you wait. Have fun!
  6. So many people say that healers use tank companions. I must be odd. I use Temple with my Operative and Andronikus with my Sorcerer. I end up "tanking" while they tear the mobs apart. I find it easier to heal myself than it is to heal them, The companions I never see are Scorpio and Dr. Lokin. But I don't pay a lot of attention to other peoples' companions.
  7. I'll add to this. I'm having a great time in this game also. In a couple days I will have been playing for 2 months and I'm still finding elements that keep it fresh and fun. I can see myself keeping my subscription active for a long time. My favorite things at the moment are: Healing FlashPoints as an Operative. Watching all of the cut-scenes. The Imperial Agent story line. Planning the orange armor looks of all my alts. Lots of fun stuff!
  8. I don't think that's a stupid question. What is desh? I don't find the definition in a dictionary.
  9. I am soooo going to do the same thing. Thanks for the idea.
  10. I haven't played either class all the way to 50, as I'm fairly new to the game. My Sorc is in his mid-30s and my Op is in her late 20s. So, take my advice for whatever you think it's worth. I started the game thinking my Sorc was going to be my main. Then I started an Op because I heard the Imp Agent story line was great. I'm starting to realize that my Op is becoming my main. When I log in each night I tend to choose the Op first. I think there are two reasons for this. 1. I am really into the story line. I see that it didn't draw you in so much, but for me it is much more interesting than the Sorc's story. 2. The healing mechanics are new and challenging. I've healed in every MMO I've ever played. Although each healing class in each game has its unique spells, they all seemed to be similar when all was said and done. The Sorc feels to me like something I've played many times before. Don't get me wrong; I like playing my Sorc. But the healing mechanics of the Op are intriguing to me. It feels new, different and fun! I'm doing the same thing I've always done -- healing. But, for the first time in years it feels like I'm having to think differently about how to do it. I really like that. As the previous poster said, in the end it comes down to enjoying the mechanics. That's exactly it for me. The Op mechanics are more interesting to me. Cheers.
  11. Sorry, but not true. Each time I start the group finder I deselect DPS. But twice I have been placed in a group as DPS. What you describe is how it should work. But in reality it makes mistakes. I'm not asking it to read my skill tree. I am asking it to honor my choices.
  12. Not be be argumentative, but I disagree with this statement. You shouldn't have to check -- the Group Finder should not make that mistake. I have been assigned the wrong role a couple times by the Group Finder, so I know why you suggest that. But Bioware should make it work correctly so people don't have to back out at the last second and get a queue penalty as a result.
  13. That does help. Thank you. I wasn't sure if a moddable piece of equipment that I get at a low level would end up working against me at higher levels, even if I kept the mods up-to-date. Your answer shows me that it won't. Thanks!
  14. This doesn't exactly answer the OP's concern, but I thought I'd add my perspective to it. I'm a new subscriber and have so far made the following observations. Please note that I'm still only lvl 35, so I'm not talking about end-game grouping. 1. The first flashpoints the group finder puts you into are Black Talon and The Esseles (sp?). Neither of which requires 4 on the team, nor a dedicated tank or healer, especially if you have 4 people -- which the GF gives you automatically. When I joined my first FP through the group finder I didn't know this, so I was stunned by how no one cared about group roles. I was (and almost always am) a healer. People actually complained to me about healing instead of DPSing. After several runs of BT I thought this was how the Flashpoints worked in SWTOR. Free for all. I was quite surprised when I hit Hammerstation, where roles matter. So, just a thought, some of those people who ignore their role can partially blame the first Flashpoints they go into. 2. The group finder sometimes assigns you a role you didn't choose. As I stated above, I am a healer. I queue as a healer, not as DPS. So, when I got grouped for Hammerstation, I assumed my normal role - healing. After the first fight, one of the group members initiated a vote kick on me for not playing my role. How was I to know that the group finder had made me a DPS? I hadn't chosen that option. Also, seriously, did that really warrant a vote kick? Luckily, the others in the group agreed with me and denied the kicking. All this to say, be aware that the group finder messes up. Don't blame the player. 3. I have never had a bad flashpoint experience. I've only played for a month now and I'm only lvl 35. But, aside from the experience mentioned in 2 above, all of my experiences have been very positive. People are helpful, patient with new players and very organized. I have not encountered ninja-looting. I have not encountered lazy healers (though that's because the healer is me ) and I've never encountered a bad tank. So, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Of course, you all might be referring to end-game grouping, so maybe we're talking about two different things. Anyway, that's one person's perspective. A pretty positive experience so far.
  15. I solo while questing because I like playing at my own pace. I get interrupted a lot, so I don't want to feel guilty stepping away for a few minutes. Also, I like to get lost in my own little world when playing. Having to interact with others is not top on my priority list. Also, just because the game is presented in an MMO format does not mean those of us who like to play solo should go find a solo game. If this game were offered in a solo version, I'd probably play it. But, then again, I like to play healers, so when I'm in the mood to play with others, I ask guildies or use the group finder to pop into a flashpoint. It's very narrow minded to think that just because a game offers multi-person play, everyone should play in groups.
