  1. Hello All, I am getting this horrible stutter when I turn on the option "Scale Nameplates with Distance". Nameplates in general seems to drop my fps quite a bit (30-40) and makes the game unplayable. I absolutely love this game and want to continue to play but I can't stand the amount of stutter... I am running; i7-4790 - 1080 GTX - 16 gig DDR3 - SSD Things I tried so far; - Download and install directx 9 - Updated all drivers - Updated Windows - Re-installed the game - Tried "Window Fullscreen" and "Full screen" - Nvidia control panel GPU settings for max performance I suspect it has to do with the way UI for Nameplates but I've seen other peoples stream's where they don't have this weird stutter with nameplates on. If anyone has had this issue and somehow solved, I would really appreciate your feedback.
  2. Hello All, I just bought the game two days ago and boosted a char to 65. I have been doing FPs and Master FPs healing on my Sith Sorcerer. However, once I hit 70, I am no longer able to queue for Master Flashpoints using the activity finder. I am able to queue for every other activity including regular flashpoints and story ops. I am not sure if this is a bug and if someone had this happen before but I would really appreviate your help. Things I tried so far; - Restart the game - Reset Phase nothing seems to work.
  3. I don't think you understand the concept of "probability". If you a 25% chance of smething happening, that means you have an overwhelming 75% chance that it "won't" happen. Also, it doesn't matter if you open 10 bags or 100, none of the "probability" of 25% is linked together. So, you can very well go 0/10 or 10/10, etc. Every bag you open, you have a 75% chance of not getting BM tokens which is pretty significant. Don't get me wrong, I think the system is retarded. However if you understand the concept, it takes away from your frustration caused by not receiving BM Tokens. I think BW uses this system to rely on luck (casual) rather effort spend (hardcore).
  4. I agree with everything except PvP Stat. It is perfectly fine to have a PvP stat given the fact that ALL PvP armor and weapons have this stat. What that means is putting +expertise on 20 and 40 PvP gear. Also, the main problem is the huge gap between a player with and without expertise. They should just make Champion gear bought with Warzone Commendations. I am sure they can work out an exact number of commendations where it would take 1 month or so to acquire this gear. This gear should require LvL 45 to purchase so you can start working towards it before 50 but not all the way from level 1. After that, the main PvP set that everyone is working towards should be Battlemasters. It is really that simple. Same as WoW. You have a PvP set that is easy to obtain and a better set that takes some grinding...
  5. Ha! Couldn't have said it better myself
  6. I did un-subscribe couple days agobecause I was having major FPS issues in Warzones and in game. My highest char is 40 and I have all the classes around 10-16. Recently, I sorta fixed my FPS issue to the point where it is playable in Warzones (25-40 FPS) so I am once again subscribing to it. I feel like this game is more towards people like me who enjoy a good story and having multiple character options. For the time being as long as I get good performance from the game and it is "playable" I will be sticking around. I am not too worried about content just yet...
  7. I think it does more then one thinks. It is pretty opvious that Bioware Engineers were given an unfinished game engine with lacking documentation to start developing SWTOR...
  8. Reposting from MMORPG.com forums. Original doesn't belong to me. ******************************************************** For those that are interested, Neil Harris, president of HeroEngine, wrote a blog which sheds some light on how things developed between HeroEngine and SWTOR: http://www.heroengine.com/2011/11/heroengine-meets-starwars/ Some interesting points: EA/BW liked the Hero development tools, and speed of prototyping: “I need this,” said Gordon. “I am about to start a special project and these tools will let us build and prototype fast and get something running in a hurry.” EA/BW were Hero's first sale, the engine was in fact not for sale yet up to that point: “It’s not productized yet,” we told Gordon. “There are whole sections of code that is only roughed in and not optimized for performance or security. And there are very few comments and very little documentation.” EA/BW were planning on making major changes to the engine anyway: “(Gordon): We are going to have tons of engineers. We can finish it ourselves. We’re going to want to modify your source code for our special project anyway.” HeroEngine does not know what EA/BW did with the source code: "We were concerned over their making major changes to our engine, but we loved the size of the check that came with the deal." "Our role began and ended long ago" So the Hero engine that is used in SWTOR currently is not the same engine that is being sold by HeroEngine themselves. It has been extensively modded by EA/BW over the last 4-5 years, because they have access to the source code.
  9. Warhammer Online had much better and responsive combat then SWTOR.
  10. Hey All, I am not a frequent poster in these forums and I rarely create topics. I read through a bunch of topics created for, specifically, FPS related discussions and realized there are quite a few people that experience this as well. My PC tends to run the game fairly weel, however I expreience constant FPS drops while in combat, quick turning with mouse, and especially a huge FPS drop in Warzones. I wanted to know the opinion of regular forum goers as well as people who have much more knowledge in technical specs of PCs to give me some advice if I should look into upgrading my PC or my system should run this game 50+ FPS everywhere minus the Game Engine problems. Here are my specs; ASUS P7P55D PRO LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard SAPPHIRE TOXIC 100282TXSR Radeon HD 5850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Thanks in advance
