  1. Me thinks you haven't played a Bounty Hunter's complete story? But again... New classes aren't going to happen. Best we could hope for would be new advance classes, but adding a third AC for every class really goes against the nature of classes and advance classes anyways. As it stands, with the exception of 4 ACs (two on each side), every AC is designed to be able to perform as one of two of the three trinity roles. That's what makes them unique (for lack of a better word). It also adds a moderate amount of replay-ability. Creating a third AC for each class would mean creating a single role specific AC or adding an AC allowing for the third role, going against the entire design premise of ACs. Not that either of these options would be *bad*, just pointing out the likelihood of the developers implementing something that counteracts a system design they had worked to create and implement is pretty low.
  2. I will have to keep this in mind and roll my next smuggler female. In fact, this might work out pretty awesome, because I'm not the biggest fan of risha either. And like I said, I really like the idea of a female smuggler.
  3. In all reality, the Galactic Republic falls before the Empire. Sure the Sith Empire as it is in TOR eventually falls. But Palpatine re-instates an Empire after the fall of the Republic. So yeah, just stop playing TOR because everything gets destroyed eventually.
  4. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet... but slightly more changes than just romanceable companions. Romanceable npc options appear based on different sexes. I will never play a female trooper, no matter how much mrs. hale rocks, because i just love me my Sgt. Jaxo that much. If I was gonna roll up republic classes i would probably go... Male and Female Knight. Kira is one of my favorite companions to romance, but I also enjoy the idea of a tiny little miralukan girl gettin all up in peoples faces. Female Consular. Choice based entirely on my opinion of character voices. Male Trooper. Sgt. Jaxo, need I say more. Male Smuggler. While I like the idea/image of an elegant yet deadly female smuggler, I FREAKING HATE CORSO WITH A PASSION!
  5. Go with what you want to play/feel comfortable and are best at playing. No guild worth being in will try to force you into a role you aren't comfortable with. That kind of behavior just pisses off members and leads to fail runs because the player isn't as good at the new role. Based on a desire for solo leveling survivability, and end game viability I'd personally suggest, well... whichever one you are most comfortable playing. They're all perfectly viable in most/all situations. Consular Sage will get some nice solo survivability with off heals, a bubble, and starting with a decent tank companion. Trooper will have it's own advantages, including heavier armor and a pretty early aoe. The smuggler isn't quite as easy mode to solo with as the others, but has pretty decent demand later due to some pretty crazy single target burst and sustain dps. Moral of the story is, pick what you like so far and run with it!
  6. The likelihood of this ever happening is pretty close to nil. Not saying it won't ever happen, but due to the nature and design of TOR, the expense and effort just doesn't seem justifiable. They would have to hire 2-4 VAs just to cover the class voices. Bring them in, record an entire games worth of dialog 4 times. Then, they would have to re-hire most/almost all of the previous VAs to come back in and record new dialog responses for almost every mission. Sure, only the "story" missions really *require* new dialog, but even side mission npcs usually greet you based on class. Many times a side mission NPC has known I was an Agent or a Sith and responded appropriately. These same responses can't really be re-used for a trooper and agent on opposite sides. Then, they'd have to program in all this new content which is no easy feat in it's own. All of that for a f2p game just doesn't seem worth it. 2 New classes might bring in some new subs temporarily while players return to check them out, 1-55 them in a week, then cancel again. They could make them unlocks with CC but that would just enrage the community, with subs and preferred feeling like they are getting shafted out of game content they shouldn't have to pay for. Hell, iirc a LOT of subs were pretty upset they had to pay, and full price at that, to unlock Cathar.
  7. Really tough call. They both have their merits and flaws, which are quite vice versa with each other. Personally, I liked the Inquis story a LOT more than the BH story. I found the BH story to have a few awesome moments, but overall it was fairly impersonal and bland. The Inquis story has a few "OMG" moments, and better character interactions in my opinion. But just like all classes, even it can get dull during those "go to planet x and do y, then repeat concept for 3 more planets" times. Gameplay wise, both are pretty groovy. Being a DPSer, I find them *almost* equal, with the BH barely edging out the Inquis for ease and simplicity (the BH gets a potent AoE pretty early and starts with a healer companion). If this was a ballot, I'd vote the Inquis personally.
  8. As far as I know, there are all of 3 BoL weapons off the top of my head. One rewarded during the Gree event, one rewarded during the Rakghoul event, and one that can be bought for a lot of credits from the CZ rep vendor of your faction, but requires a pretty high rep. Beyond that, you're SOL unless someone else knows more easier to obtain modable BoL weapons.
  9. Depending on the class and what you're trying to achieve, some crafting skills can have a use. My first "main" toon was a Trooper. Since planetary coms weren't unified back then, and almost all of his companions were heavy/aim armor, I took Armormech. I feel this saved me quite a bit of hassle compared to trying to keep up with oranges. I would just top off my weapons with coms or use the coms to buy new weapons, etc. The Trooper has gone on to gear up alts and their companions effortlessly for me too. My Agent who has Kaliyo out a lot both benefited greatly. My Consular who had Qyzen out a lot in the beginning benefited slightly. There's other examples but you get the point. With unified planetary coms, crafting got a bit "meh" outside of end game mods and augments. Now it's just like "gather gather gather, sell sell sell" with the occasional biochem thrown in.
  10. So hard to pick a singular class with the best/most interesting companions. Bounty Hunter is probably pretty high up on my list. While many probably find Mako annoying, I found her endearing in a way. But it's really all about Blizz, and there's Skadge and Gault who are fairly interesting/entertaining. Trooper has some pretty bland companions but really, M1-4X makes up for any inadequacies of other companions. Overall my favorite (companion wise) would have to be the Inquisitor though. Khem is one of the best/coolest companions in the entire game imo. Ashara and Xalek are pretty groovy, and Andronikus, while he doesn't quite "fit", he's still pretty fun as a person.
  11. ^ This. In theory (queue times can vary) one could warzone much more than they can complete end game content.
  12. Wild Star has been brought up in more than a few threads regarding player housing, and more generalized threads regarding things other MMOs are doing that SWTOR isn't or won't. I'm actually anticipating it's release so I can see if the game merits the hype it's been receiving lately. I know their trailer department deserves "Most awesome trailers made for a game" of the year award though.
  13. I love the idea of player housing. And I love that the system is already in place to make it happen. I agree whole heartedly that our ships should definitely serve as any "house". I would personally love to see more to them. A. Expansion. Allow us to buy extensions. Throw in a door here or there (you've already got escape hatches in place) that we can "unlock" to add on to our ship for more design room. B. Placeables. To avoid conflict with story triggers and event locations, make them only placeable in the "expansion" area(s). Furnature, lighting, various other decorations or objects. C. Showcases. Give us wall mounts, pedestals, various other things we can purchase and use to show off trophies or gear. D. Paint Jobs. We already have a "Ship" tab in our character screen for equipping various weapons and shields, add a slot similar to companion customization slot allowing us to change the paint job. Nothing that will change the mesh/model, but a simple texture change. I'm not a programmer, so I can't say for certain that all of those options would be easy enough to implement, but I do feel with my minimal programming and game development knowledge and experience that it could be done. Most of those features would be more than enough to satiate most of the player housing community's desires for the personalization and customization we hope to eventually see.
  14. Most valid argument against implementing this feature there is. More people need to stand on this argument instead of wobbly excuses like bad players and ninja looters. EDIT: that reads bad, like i'm saying you're one of those people... that wasn't the intention. was actually supposed to be more of a compliment/agreeance.
  15. Anyone on Harbinger will agree when I say, AVOID HARBINGER AT ALL COST... unless of course you love semi-weekly crashes and rollbacks.
