  1. Hi all, I've been playing since launch but not been in any guilds. I'll try to summarize in bullet points my background and the type of guild for which I'd likely be best suited: Have never raided much, a little in WoW during Lich King, but only 10-man normal. Never done any Ops in this game, but I'm interested in learning. Never played a character past the class story completion (except for about 10 minutes on one character on Ilum once). I'm working on a juggernaut now (46) and I'm planning on finally getting this character to 55. Finished class stories (level 50-52, over 50 due to 2xp mainly) for the following: 6-7 juggernaut tanks (I like jugg tanks!), 2 guardian tanks, 2 assassin tanks, 1 shadow tank, 2 marksmanship snipers. (I've since deleted these. now I just have my current 46 jugg (I'll hit 50 this weekend), a 50 assassin, and a 21 sniper.) As you can see, I like tanking, though Sniper was a lot of fun. I'm definitely most interested in tanking for a guild, primarily FPs but learning Ops as I mentioned. I've done fewer higher level flashpoints than lower. I've only done The Foundry 3-4 times, CWG once, and just finished Red Reaper for the first time (did well though). That should be enough to get the ball rolling. If you think I'd be valuable in your guild, let me know. For what it's worth, I tend to prefer more mature guilds due to less chance of drama, poor behavior, etc. I'm fairly old for a gamer, 40 now, so I just don't need that kind of stress when I'm just looking to have fun with a good group of people.
  2. White *light* is the combination of all colors of visible light in the correct proportions. Think of how a prism splits white light into a rainbow.
  3. I took the route of stepping outside to heal after downing the young Jedi and then went back in to fight the master. I figured Yonlach cheated by taking down my companion before the fight (young guy even says its unfair and the master didn't care), so I "cheated" using the green door method. /shrug
  4. My screen name, Monomarchos, was chosen for another reason but I'll probably eventually use it for a Chiss Bounty Hunter. My LS SJ is Tahl, which was the name of my main prot pally in WoW. I got it from Tahl the Incorruptible in a really awesome fantasy story at EN World (which is a writeup of a beyond-epic D&D campaign). Ironically, in the story the character is a Cleric / Church Inquisitor, but he has the feel of a paladin, hence my use of the name for a paladin and light side SW.
  5. I'm really liking the SW story, especially since I know something about how it ends. I'm just up to Alderaan as a LS 3 Jug, using Vette all of the time (except for the occasional need to use Quinn for heals). Also, I agree that with the comment that Jugg's are just Baras' errand boys/girls. If he were really our master, he'd be teaching us stuff. I'm learning everything from SW trainers, not him!
  6. No, but Threat Plates was also perfectly viable for use when I played as ret (I know) or with my warlock.
  7. I said "didn't raid much", not "didn't raid at all". I understand the need for threat, I just never had a problem given the simple use of Threat Plates. Worked perfectly well for me. I was only using my experience as a way of illustrating another possible route for TOR to show threat without having to add clutter. YMMV.
  8. Wow, crazy thread. To toss in my two cents, I played a prot pally in WoW (didn't raid much, mainly 5-mans) and I never really used a threat *meter*. Rather, I used TidyPlates with ThreatPlates. That changed the color and size of mobs' nameplates depending on how much threat I had on the mob. Green and small, plenty of threat/cushion. Yellow and medium, still have highest threat but someone else is getting very close to pulling the mob off me. Red and large, attacking someone else. Simple and elegant without the need for numbers bouncing around or another frame with a list of ever-changing numbers.
  9. Yeah, it's hard-coded in some way, apparently. On EU keyboards, the binding is on the 1/2 (one-half) key that is just to the left of the 1 key, where tilde/backtick is on most US keyboards. I've found several threads mentioning it and asking for it to be fixed, but no idea if BW will do so. Seems like such a minor thing to them but a huge deal to us lefties. I've nearly died on many occasions due to that stupid thing.
  10. The Fang is definitely ambi but take a close look at the position of the buttons on the Cyber with respect to thumb and pinky positioning. For example, the X, C, and B buttons are designed for use with the left thumb and the Z and Shift with the left pinky, just like on a regular keyboard, relative to the WASD keys it provides. I really see no way, unfortunately, to use the Cyber with my right hand.
  11. I appreciate the suggestions. Too bad the Snipa and other available gamepads are all made for use with the left hand. We lefties are mostly left out in the cold any more.
  12. Hi all, I'm hoping with this thread to get feedback from people who play left-handed as a warrior, especially an immortal juggernaut. A couple of caveats: I come from a WoW background (quit back in early December) and had similar issues with my prot paladin. Also, I have only played a jugg up to 30 but started over last night for various reasons (not worth elaboration), having just started Dromund Kaas. I'll start with my current playstyle and issues as best I can since I'm not in front of my PC. 1. I use IJKL for movement instead of WASD so I use keys around those for my primary abilities. I easily feel the raised line on the J key on my index finger so that helps with hand replacement if I have to take my hand off the keyboard for some reason. That doesn't work so well if I try changing to UHJK since the middle finger sits higher on the key and thus doesn't feel the line (same with ring finger and YGHJ). 2. Because of 1 above, I always used backslash (US kbd) above the Enter key for my "freedom" ability (e.g. Every Man for Himself, etc. in WoW, Unleash for SW). However, I'm running into the well-known problem of not being able to rebind \ and frequently hitting it anyway and opening that ticketing interface. Many near-deaths as a result... 3. Frequently hitting Enter and slash (/) during fights and thus opening the chat terminal. Easy to see the problem there. Want to rebind that function but still have chat be fairly easy to use. 4. I have a Razer Lachesis mouse so I use the rocker buttons just below the scroll wheel instead of tab for "next target" (mouse 4) and "closest target" (mouse 5). I've never used the side buttons since they're so awkward. 5. Two frequent functions are opening inventory and map, bound to F8 and F9 (gap between the two makes them distinct enough). 6. Main spam abilities are on U and O, with others on Y, P, [, ], G, H, ;, ', B, N, M, comma, and period. Self-heal is on Shift-H and medpac is on Shift-M. CDs are usually on 7-9, 0 is saber ward, - is taunt, = is force charge. Given all of that, I'm looking for any constructive criticism, further suggestions and ideas for playing a warrior left-handed, esp. an immortal juggernaut. Thanks!
  13. "Your name. Now." This one from a Sith Warrior annoys me to no end.
  14. Ok, thanks for the tips. Just like I leveled my pally with mining and herbalism, I suppose.
  15. Honest question here: If I were to simply skip picking up any crew skills and just focused on playing the game and leveling my character to 50, would there be any significant negative impact on my ability to do just that?
