  1. So, let's revisit this thread that I created about a month ago. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=965688 GSF is no longer fun. I notice the same names every match, most of them even play together and don't solo queue. Certain ships have an unfair disadvantage while others are just way too strong. In a single match, one team will go through a rotation of about 10-20 people who leave because they're getting absolutely gutter stomped by the other team. The other team gets bored because there's no challenge and just want to finish the match faster. This isn't fun. It's starting to feel like old warzones when premade groups in Ranked&Augmented gear would stoop into unranked warzones and stomp on players who don't even have half of a pvp set to fight with. The learning curve in Galactic Starfighter IS INSANE. It's not even "it's difficult". It's so far beyond that. GSF IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET INTO WITHOUT WANTING TO SMASH EVERYTHING. I have two characters that I play GSF on, one pubside one impside. I'm not a good pilot, if anything I'm barely average but even then I have matches where I'd be able to hold my own. Still, there's matches that just seem hopeless and pointless to stay in because there'a an entire group of people who just know more and are outright 20 times better than your entire team. You ask your team for advice: "Kill them, don't let them kill you" You ask your team for help while being chased: "Help out stop dying" You ask your team to help cover a node: "Go to another node don't die" There's nothing going for GSF anyway. It's not like old warzones where you got gear from it, or commendations to buy crystals for your weapons that you could use in PvE. But unlike warzones in general, you have PvE to at least teach you what your rotations are, how to move around, what to do when you're stunned, how to capitalize on stuns and slows. Groupfinder teaches you how to work in a group, so that when you get into PvP, you're already used to SOME level of teamwork. GSF doesn't hold any of that. It, quite literally, hands you a pamphlet with minimal explanation and a tutorial that's way too basic and says "Here's a fleet of ships. Go have fun." GSF is not fun anymore and frankly. I really wanted to be able to enjoy it, to really get into it. But the more I play it, it's just not being fun anymore. It's just becoming yet another grindfest added to an MMO that already has a ridiculous amount of grinding in it. GSF needs more people, it needs more rewards, better rewards after each match, different maps with actual ground, a much higher understanding, a mode where you can practice flying on other maps to discover where powerups are or sweet spots to snipe with a Gunship, a game-type SELECTION so you don't have to feel like you want to burn everything in your house playing TDM. IT JUST NEEDS MORE. GSF is almost in the exact same spot it was when I came back to SWTOR late mid 2014. It's been 5 years. Warzones have been expanded, PvE has been expanded. The rewards in both and what each of those give outside of them have been expanded on. What is there that GSF has to offer besides a mini-game basically?
  2. Okay, I get it. People want to do work in this game, and this is a personal opinion, everyone can put their personal opinions down as well, but this is what I think about having a weekly reputation cap. It's stupid. I get weekly reputation for worlds, since missions are on a daily basis like Oricon, Yavin IV, Ziost, just to name the ones I'm familiar with. But what I'm NOT okay with, is weekly reputation limits on FLASHPOINTS. The one that I've been doing a ton of work for is KDY, Imperial Forward Command. Having that WEEKLY limit of 15k is ridiculous. WEEKLY reputation limits should either be: Raised to an overall amount Specific to EACH Flashpoint/World/Location Set to 1 day (or like Guild Wars 2, a two hour limit) Removed entirely These are just some feelings and suggestions that I have about this Weekly Reputation. When I was doing Oricon for the two reputation armor sets, it took me actually almost a month. Little over a month, because the weekly cap kept messing it up for me. All I had to get to was Champion, sure. but it still took a month. Imperial Forward Command right now, is taking over 2 months overall since people decided to "Need" on everything, even when they don't understand or know what it's for. The reputation AMOUNT on each item is very small in comparison to what someone needs for certain items like decorations for their strongholds. I'm just using KDY as my example because that's what I've been painfully grinding endlessly for a good long while. So, weekly cap should either be Removed, Raised, or set to EACH INDIVIDUAL location. Again, this is just how I feel about having a weekly reputation, I've always had an issue with it, but after playing other MMOs, weekly reputation hinders my drive to keep doing what I want to do with MY game.
  3. So... GSF is fun. It's very fast paced, there's some coordination going on. So far the only 2 modes I see are TDM and satellite control. I like it, kind of? But the more I do it the more frustrated I become and the more I start to dislike it. GSF's tutorial is garbage. It barely teaches you anything. It teaches you movement, how to fire your primary/secondary, and how to capture a node while destroying stationary targets. That being said, you're locked to 1 ship. You can't choose a different type, you're stuck in one ship for the tutorial. There's no situation to experience, there's no "If this happens, do this action". I had an argument early this morning (around 4-5am) on Imperial Fleet because I said, unlike GSF, at least PvE teaches you how to move around and somewhat prepares you for regular PvP. Take that any way you want, that's my interpretation. GSF has no PvE sequences at all, and there's no way to know what you're ACTUALLY supposed to do. I'll say again, I like GSF, but the more I do it the more I'm starting to dislike it. It's basically teaching you how to swim by dumping you into the ocean while being blindfolded. If GSF had a PvE thing, that'd be great, since then people can actually get into it and know how to do certain things in a variety of situations.
  4. As the title says, goodbye SWTOR. I hate to leave but, this **** has got to stop. Open racism, whether it's trolling or not, has no place in an MMO. I hate to hold EA/Bioware accountable BUT, a couple months ago this same thing happened where the other player got all of a 1 week ban. To the players, if you think it's funny to casually spew a certain word used to keep a certain race in the dirt, you're part of the problem. "I can call anybody a n***er". No, you can't. And then to plead to me to chill and say "you probably real chill af irl", save me your apologetic bullsh*t dog. I'm done. Trolling is one thing, racism is another. The two are not interchangeable.
  5. Dear Everyonewhothinksbecauseit'sveteranyoucandowhateveryouwant, As a TANK, my job is to keep you all alive. Whether you're DPS or a Healer, it doesn't matter. My job is to keep you from taking damage, and to keep everything attacking me. If you wanna run ahead and get yourself killed, or almost killed, that undermines MY performance as a TANK. So if I ask, not to run ahead of me, DO NOT vote to kick the TANK from the group, just oblige, it's not that hard to have a small amount of patience, is it? But, for those elitist players who say "it's veteran, anyone can go in first", y'all are the problem. For those of us who are still somewhat learning the ropes of tanking, say, on a Vanguard, let us LEARN by experience. Don't run ahead, get dead, or almost dead, to the point where the whole group is WAY AHEAD while I'm trying to recover with 30% hp remaining. Let us do the job we volunteered for. Sincerely, All Tanks
  6. Why are we ONLY forced to go against Malgus? The dude makes some very valid points. I feel as though there should be a mechanic (at least on Ilum) where you should be able to side with Malgus, but then be marked as an enemy to EVERYONE, both Imperial and Republic. (Let's be real here, nobody actually goes to Ilum anymore) On a Store/Lore side, sure it makes sense that Malgus SHOULD fail in his New Empire, but I feel as though he wouldn't ACTUALLY fail given a good portion of the Empire would desert and side with him anyway. And from there, friends/family of the New Empire would convince more to side and mold into the New Empire.
  7. Seriously It's stupid that a Marauder, at 53, is better to tank better than a Shieldtech Powertech, at 68. That's unacceptable. Powertech is a TANK. The Marauder is a glass cannon. It should not be able to outlive a tech tank at all. At least the old PT/VG had abilities that reached 30 meters. My capabilities as a tank in PvE are severely lackluster. It's disappointing when a glass cannon survives the same aggro while you barely survive.
  8. *********** fix this bioware, jesus. I don't understand why it takes so long for a aaa company like yourselves to fix a tiny problem!!!!
  9. Yeah, I said it, as someone who used to enjoy PvP back in 3.0 days, PvP in my eyes is straight up disgusting. 8v8 warzones start with teams that only have 6 people, premades are ruining unranked warzones, matchmaking in warzones is horrendous, and the community is all around toxic. Matchmaking arenas should as follows for 4v4 arenas. 1 tank, 1 healer 2dps. None of this...3 dps and a tank with no heals or 4dps and no heals. Premades should go against Premades, not having 4 sorcerers/sages in 208 augmented gear queueing in unranked warzones going against a team of Sentinel/Marauder, Powertech/Vanguard and Shadow/Assassin who don't even have a single piece of PvP gear yet. Warzones should have brackets according to the Spec Page, as follows 10-26, 27-42, 43-58, 59-64 and 65s. Unranked warzones should have brackets as well instead of mixing up the players who have no PvP gear and the ones with a full set of 208 augmented gear. Bolster doesn't do anything for anyone unless their gear is under a certain number, and that actually hurts them MORE when they're up against 4 premade players with 208 augmented gear. Ranked Warzones should not be just 4v4 arenas. Ranked Warzones should be just like the regular warzones, but with CHOOSABLE fields. Arena, Voidstar, Gree Hypergate, whatever. Unranked warzones, for the players with 2018 expertise should be locked out, and ranked warzones should inclde, as I said, all the same warzones unranked ones have. As for the community: Ask for help and tips, and you're told "**** scrub" and "Alt+F4 and uninstall". Ask for a group to run warzones with people and you're being yelled at "premades are the reason warzones are bring ruined". They're not wrong. Ask someone on tips on your class and spec for a rotation and you get ignored or chewed out. The DPS get mad if they aren't "guarded", Healers are overwhelmed because there's no tanks. It's all around a mess. That being said, I'm no longer doing warzones until a lot of things are changed.
  10. I just said f*ck it and uninstalled SWTOR. I'm just going to do a full reinstall since, looking through the forum there's absolutely NO WAY to fix other than a full reinstall.
  11. http://i65.tinypic.com/fb0vs.png Repair button is greyed out http://i63.tinypic.com/dqiweb.png And the patch download is stuck at 100% now for two hours.
  12. I used someone's referral link, I thought he was trying to scam me out of credits that he promised by saying he didn't get anything, so he said he'd use mine. I thought, okay, watch it work. Nope, I too for 0 CC from him using my link. http://i63.tinypic.com/2e0k082.png As proof. I've used links as a subscriber, I've used links as a Preferred member, and never had any problems. So this must be a bug on SWTOR's end instead of ours.
  13. neither, actually. it crashes every time i put my cursor over the radar icon on the map, or over the heroic transporter thing that has the area icon on the minimap.
  14. So, this is the second time in the last 5 minutes that I've crashed, both times were using the map and mousing over an objective. I'm starting to get really really REALLY annoyed at this crash record I have with the latest patches and updates. I love SWTOR, I love the gameplay, I love warzones, but...goddamn, it's not getting frustrated because I keep crashing every 5-10 minutes one day, and the next not crashing at all.
  15. In the last hour I've been trying to run Heroic Missions on Dromund Kaas. I've been online almost all day with no crashing on my Operative, but when I log on with my Mercenary, I crashed the first time. I figured, okay, lemme try again on my operative. I got told, in my character selection screen, that Haku'rou (operative) as already logged in, and I cannot create a new character or log in others until that character is logged out.....what? Gave it a few minutes, logged back on with my merc. Not even a minute later just as i click on the Heroic Mission, crash. Reopen the game, log in, log in with my merc, click on another heroic missions, crash. This happened several times, to the point where, I logged in and I clicked on the ground, and crashed. Out of frustration, I uninstalled the game entirely and I'm now, as we speak, reinstalling it. What in the blue blazes is going on? First 4.0 PVP becomes a total dive, glitchy and buggy, then there are several PvE issues and Stronghold exploits, and now there are reports of people crashing while doing heroics.
