  1. 08-01-15 Sith Warrior. This quest is still bugged. Can only obtain credit from the one mentioned in this thread right below the tower entrance and additionally the one being forced choked worked once. All others don't run away and don't credit the quest. This is frustrating to say the least.
  2. This is still happening a month later. Considering two daily quests can be turned in around this area, it's very annoying to lose the point when you log out. It seems the discrepancy actually occurs with the map function via the quick travel spell. When you actually go to 'rediscover' the quick travel node, it has the icon that it has been discovered. Hopefully that helps pinpoint the issue for a fix. I know these things will happen, but I'd like a quicker TAT than months on something that directly affects our capability of travel in the game.
  3. Smuggler Did not join a guild the entire time. Used no XP boosts. Avoided combat at all costs. Was level 51 when I went to Makeb. Hit 55 a couple of quests later. I'm not sure how people are having so much trouble with this. I'll see if I run into similar issues with my next class.
  4. I never understand how people do this stuff. Even removing the time I gathered/crafted/fleet I wouldn't be close to 8-10 hours. I think it took me 24ish hours to go 1-55 and that felt pretty fast. Really the travel times are what kill it for me. Even utilizing things like 10m quick travel, stronghold for quick jumps to fleet/ship, and intentionally dying in some areas I still can't get around fast enough to do that.
  5. It's a test to see if the cost of producing even that much affects the bottom line compared to how much revenue they get from selling the expansion. Do more people buy this expansion than the last one? They can then get feedback on the 12x bonus and class stories to see what had the greatest effect. Basically it's a cost/benefit analysis, not really a test for players. They know people enjoy the stories and like quick leveling...that's why the 12x bonus exists.
  6. I leveled two BH's, one of each AC. I find that the spell aesthetic of PT looks a little bit more like a classic BH, but it doesn't feel like one very well. By that I mean a Merc actually feels like you can be a Bounty Hunter...out there kicking arse and taking names. PT feels like a utility tank, which is intentional, but it doesn't feel like your made to really hunt down and take out people. After playing both, I would recommend Merc as the most appropriate feeling. I also like the mechanics far more for DPS than DPSng as a PT.
  7. Week 1 complete, Gunslinger level 55 is complete. Enjoyed the story more than I have ever since I could focus on it and play it without interruption. It was fantastic. I guess I'll pick a new class and go for Week 2.
  8. Step 1: Take all gear rewards that are an upgrade from quests. Step 2: Use a tank or healer companion when you get them. Step 3: Supplement with the gear vendors since you have plenty of credits from free abilities and mount skill. Step 4: Repeat with the GTN. Step 5: Hit Makeb and use the GSI bolster. Pwn to 55. It's a very small hurdle for something so monumentally awesome. The only way to perfect it would to implement a bolster for everyone who has the buff. Could they have done that? Maybe. I get the idea that it was a last minute great idea to get in. Maybe a future incarnation will see bolstering including. For now, just enjoy it and stop complaining.
  9. While I believe you have a bit of a misconception of these terms here, I understand what you are saying. However, your problem is really with the group-based, trinity gameplay model. And that's totally fine! But what they had before didn't mesh with the overall combat design. Now it is being brought in line with that design. Like I said before, unless you are playing games that specifically account for Support roles (read: hybrid) or games without defined roles, you aren't going to find great design that you seem to want. The problem is that the decade old design which includes talent trees, arbitrary stat boosts, and hybrid capabilities was providing arbitrary choice at the expense of better design. Sure you could take abilities x,y,z as this tree, but it was probably terrible is not a compelling decision for a player. It's only a bad decision. It's a fallacy to think that picking a bad spec just because you thought it was fun is ok. It's not ok, because the game isn't providing you meaningful choices that keep you performing your role adequately which translates to the same level of fun. Essentially that's the goal with providing larger customization of secondary abilities. They want you to have the same tools to fulfill your role in a general sense, but letting you determine what flavor you can provide. You can't really complain about picking a role and them giving you tools for that role....that's the intention of roles in the first place. I could go on about this, but people are basically looking at this in an incredibly incomplete and inadequate way. This is a good design change even if they totally mess up on the utilities...which it doesn't seem like they are right now.
  10. Hybrid builds have no place in an end game, group focused MMO with a hard trinity. Support roles are essentially what hybrids are when they aren't 'breaking the system' and those are present in some MMOs (quite effectively) but not this one. If you were a hybrid before you either: a) Were gimping yourself b) Were gimping your group or c) Were overpowered All of those result in less fun for the rest of the people around you. Now everyone is guaranteed to fit their role with the ability to still customize their utility and they can balance encounters going forward with the expectation of what everyone will bring. It's a win, win, win. This isn't 2004.
  11. I imagine it will become a service they offer in the future, but this served as both a test for interest and a reward for preorders. I bought the expansion solely to get this boost and come back to the game for a month or so. It's clearly working as intended. It really should be permanent after this period is over though...it's just too god not to offer going forward. Make it optional and included with a sub, or a one time purchase and toggled and it's golden.
  12. These new rewards retroactively ruin my fun from 2 years ago. This is a travesty! I remember when we couldn't do half the stuff in the game because of bugs...now all these new players get a mostly bug free experience. It's terrible. I'm unsubbing. /sarcasm It's completely illogical to think this way. Improvements are made and don't affect your past experience at all because 12x XP for Class Missions isn't a time-traveling wizard. I suggest you enjoy it yourself now, because you also have that option. If you chose to level all your characters before now, it was clearly something you wanted to do as it was implemented. You accomplished your goal, so you should be satisfied. If you didn't want to do it, but did it anyways, well....that's a whole different conversation.
  13. Especially people who haven't played in some time. I haven't been this excited to play the game in a long time. After sleeping on it, I'm subbed, pre ordered, and ready to make a zillion new characters over the next months. I could rarely get over the 25-35 hump and most of my alts died out there from repeating the same grindy quests over and over. I've wanted to level with only story missions for 2 years now. This is a dream come true for a lot of people who enjoy the best part of this game leveling wise.
  14. Just one mission...I don't think much of anyone will return for that. But a 12x class mission buff, revamp of stale talent trees, Revan, etc will probably bring a lot of players back. I'm giving it a go and I almost never play the game. The game has been heading towards appeasing long time fans for a while now. This xpac is aiming at the KOTOR crowd that loves the stories, loves Revan, and doesn't care for a whole lot else. They've been delivering pretty solid, non raid concepts for a while now. GSF, Strongholds, and now this. They are making lots of good calls up there.
  15. So....let me get this right...OP is going to quit a traditional MMO because it is a traditional MMO? Ok. I recommend taking a break from MMOs and playing other genres or taking a break from gaming. It's a great way to refresh the mind. I've not played SWTOR regularly since Denova came out, but I return to play a month here and there. I miss out on a lot, but it tends to prevent me hating the game like this. In fact, these changes have led me to preorder and come back to level some characters. I'll take a break until the xpac comes out, but then I'll enjoy that too. It's just a matter of perspective. Focus elsewhere, come back refreshed.
