  1. Also, not saying this hasn't been done, but it's also good to calibrate your monitor. I run mine at about 120 nits after calibration, and Hoth looks fine to me. A lot of monitors come calibrated at much higher, 300 plus. This would make an already bright planet look washed out. edit: The reason for the calibration is to make sure everything looks the way the developer meant it to. A photographer needs to make sure that when the photo is printed, it looks exactly the same as it did on their screen. Movies and games are the same, your monitor has to look exactly the same as the dev one, that is why there is a standard in calibration.
  2. Also re-order them. Move them up or down.
  3. Nice look. That's my favorite companion to have as a healer. I just can't stand how often she talks and that super high pitch voice. Wish we could mute companions.
  4. After re-subbing a few weeks ago, I can now tell the state of the PvP is the worst it's been since the game launched, for various reasons. Here are a few ideas on how to improve the game and make PvP more even and more fun for all. 1. This is a big one but it would absolutely improve the game, not just for PvP but also in other game modes: In-Game Voice Chat. Having the ability to talk to other people and share strategy or call incs would be a huge improvement. It would take time to develop and implement, or it would take purchasing the system from a third party and incorporating it into the game. 2. Some matchmaking would be a huge bonus. As it is, there does not appear to be ANY matchmaking in the game at all. The games are one sided most of the time. That rare occurrence when the teams are even and you have a solid, fun match is about one in twenty, and is probably just by chance it happens that way. If there was matchmaking in the game that would happen much more frequently. The fact it does not tells me matchmaking is either turned off, or is very poorly coded. Anything bigger than a 4-man premade should only be matched with another team of the same size. 3. Bring bolster back into PvP. Not the downward bolster we have, but also the upward bolster. I saw a guy in a warzone yesterday with 165k health. And he had gear on, it was just atrocious; he kept dying in two hits, coming back out and dying in two hits again. There are people in PvP often with under 300k health. This is like playing with 7 people. And sometimes they even group up and play together, effectively throwing the game for everyone else and wasting 10-15 minutes of everyone's time. PvP is about skill, not about gear -- everyone should be on even ground. The bolster should not only bring everyone up to 336, or close to it, it should also account for augments, at least some basic blue augments. This would make PvP much more even and would be conducive to a fun environment. 4. a) Let people leave warzones and remove the deserter de-buff. This is old stuff and does not belong in a game without a ranked mode. Without these other things being done, we need to be able to control our time investment and we need to be able to queue dodge some under-geared people or some trolls who cause recurring losses. Otherwise we get stuck in the same cycle and it becomes depressing after a while. A game should not feel this depressing. This should especially apply to subscribers. Putting in time penalties for people who pay for the game is most likely against the TOS and should be revisited. In case this is not to be effected in full, move on to plan b below. b) Let people leave the game before the game starts. The minute we have before the game begins should be enough to determine if you want to be in that game. Perhaps you don't like the map, or you have a troll on your team, or you have that guy with 165k health -- one should be able to drop in the first minute, before the game begins, without any penalties. Back-fillers should also get a grace period they could leave the game in, perhaps 45 seconds or so. Having some of these things in the game would make it exponentially better, having all of it would make PvP last another 10 years.
  5. I'm all for vote kicking coming back, as long as the deserter debuff is removed at the same time. People should have a way to kick trolls off the team, but at the same time subscribers should be able to drop a bad team and re-queue before it ever gets to the point of vote kicking. Fixing matchmaking seems like a really big project and something they have not even tried tackling yet; until they do we should have control over our own matchmaking. What I mean is being able drop the game if you get that same 4 man pre-made in 100-200 rating gear, and re-queue while they are still in that game. That way you can break the cycle and get a different team that doesn't waste an hour or two of your evening. We even send whispers to that team, tell them how to get 336 mods for Hyde and Zeek and yet, day after day these teams queue together and waste everyone's time. If they are not willing to gear up for cheap, and insist on throwing games for everyone, and you can't kick a whole pre-made, other players should be allowed to drop the game and immediately re-queue to avoid them. What makes this even worse is that the matchmaking system will try to match a pre-made with a pre-made, so when you get into a cycle of getting the same undergeared pre-made on your side, it's almost guaranteed the pre-made on the other side will be fully geared and actual PvPers, and they'll keep queueing for as long as they can get free wins.
  6. I think stacking snipers is worse than stacking sorcs, but you're right about juggs being the worst. Endless lives. And when there are a few of them, it's almost as if they had a group healer, but they don't, it's just them. Sorcs seem fine at the moment, and I don't get why madness is being singled out when they perform exactly the same as lightning. They're finally on par with each other. As far as marksman goes, the major reason why they are bottom of the barrel when it comes to snipers is because they have no way to slow people down. Engi has the AoE slow that can be cast and moved at any time, and virulence has a baked in slow. Marksman only has leg shot on a long cooldown, and without the stun or the flash bang, it's brutal. Mobility is king in pvp and marksman has very little in tools to affect it, single target or AoE.
  7. This is how I feel too, I would much rather drop and re-queue than have to watch a bad team learning their classes inside warzones. It's a complete waste of my 15 minutes to be with 3 or 4 people in a mix of greens and blues, who don't even use their DCDs, because they're too focused on learning their rotations. Subscribers need to be able to drop without penalties.
  8. How did Severing Slash survive the pruning? The most useless ability on sins makes it through and better stuff gets cut. I don't understand the thinking on this. SS seems like such an easy choice; no one likes it, how many actually use it? It's just bloat.
  9. That's 100% what I said above too. People are too scared to queue arenas, so they come into warzones and death match. I just didn't expect anyone to come in right after that and admit to it. At least you own your bad.
  10. I'm not going to; what's the point? If community managers can't even read or acknowledge a bug in a bug forum, when tagged, when that is their job, why should I go through the trouble of composing emails? Given the no communication policy they seem to have, what guarantee is there that anyone will even read the email? If they don't care, I don't care. Thank you Nee-Elder, you reply and give better advice than people who are supposed to do that.
  11. And adding in game voice chat would be a plus also after all these years. I still can't believe in game voice chat is not in yet. Imagine how much that would bridge the gap between premades and groups of solo queuers, if those solo people could talk to each other like premades do. People don't have to chat if they don't want to, but being able to call incs while fighting, not having to stop and type, or call a healer, or a strategy, would be a night and day difference.
  12. TDM is selfishness in warzones. Warzones are made for teamwork and finishing the objectives. In order to do that you need to kill people, but not fight off node and chase them around the map. Huttball is completely about objectives, that's why TDM people hate it so much. Anyone that wants to TDM can queue for arenas, that's what that game mode is made for; it has no other objective other than TDM. People who TDM in warzones are just too scared to q for arenas. They also wouldn't last a day in the old 8v8 ranked, where each map had its own strategy and each role had a part to play. Everyone was focused on playing a better and smarter game... and winning. This new breed of players who just TDM are just in their own heads, and screwing everyone else on the team.
  13. Maybe it is a hack then. Maybe some players figured out how to drop the ops group for everyone. Can we get a reply from a community manager or a dev, please?
  14. Thanks Nee-Elder. @JackieKo | @CommunityTeam
  15. Thank you for that link. But what if it's just a known bug, or even a new bug? I don't want to share any names with them if this is unrelated to win trading or hacking; I don't want to get anyone in trouble if they had nothing to do with it, even though it seems shady to happen when this person is in the game. I could be very wrong. Have you seen this happen before? Should I take it as a player action that causes it and turn them in, or should I treat it as a bug? Thanks
