  1. Saw the film again today, and we both heard the reference again-- it is shortly after the necklace gets ripped off, when Kylo Ren is giving orders in the hallway... We both heard him use the word Vitiate as if in reference to a specific ship or unit. I don't think it's plausible to make the whole game canon (granted, they could make The Outlander canon the same way they did with Revan and The Exile), but it would be fairly straightforward to make Vitiate canon since he is in Revan's story (and Revan definitely is canon now as of this film and the Last Jedi).
  2. The plot thickens! Apparently, according to the Visual Dictionary for Rise of Skywalker, the sith cultists are divided into legions. One of these is called The Revan Legion, but there is a more subtle nod to The Old Republic story too: one of the legions is called the Tenebrous Legion. That's awfully close to Tenebrae... I am starting to think more and more there are some purposeful nods to the game 😁.

  4. I posted a separate thread on this, but it was suggested I copy it here.
  5. I've had something of a parade of mishaps regarding KOTET Chapter VI in Veteran Mode lol. As background, I play a Smuggler Ruffian, and I've had repeated issues throughout KOTFE and KOTET with a good number of the fights being impossible for my specialization. I powered through those fights I could, but in cases where after a few dozen tries I still couldn't figure it out (even after researching online), I usually call my husband's character into the instance for a little support. Anyways, the specific issue I am running into is in the fight where you can control Arcann to face the Horizon Guard Captain. I've tried everything I can think of, and I can't beat the fight (I do know the key is supposed to be handling Arcann's abilities well). Some of this has come down to frequent bugs where Arcann's abilities won't trigger (even if I'm standing directly next to him), but other times, I'm overwhelmed by adds (I only have one melee range interrupt skill with a cooldown), Arcann dies, or I get totally wiped out. My husband who plays a Commando wasn't able to be beat the fight either, so he called me into his instance to help him out. We figured it out after a few dozen tries. The problem is that because my husband has completed KOTET Chapter VI, when I try to summon him into my instance to help, he always appears in the Knight of Zakuul uniform with no abilities. We've tried a few workarounds but none have worked. He's proceeded further into Chapter VII, but this still hasn't fixed the issue. Unfortunately, without his help, I can't figure out a way to do this fight. Has anyone figured out a workaround for this? I really don't want him to have to redo all of Chapter VI up to the rancor fight just to help me with this. Alternatively, if anyone has beaten this fight as a Smuggler Ruffian, tips for Soloing it are welcomed as well. Any assistance is appreciated.
  6. My apologies-- I tried to change the thread title as well, but the forums aren't very helpful with that. Unfortunately, my solution wasn't particularly inspiring... It was so comically bad that I didn't want to post it lol. Basically, my husband who also plays the game woke up, saw I was having trouble, and logged on to help me out. His character loaded in stuck in the ridiculous Knight of Zakuul uniform with no abilities, but he drew just enough attention as a running meatbag to lure the beasties around the room so they didn't murder Indo immediately lol. In the end, he died horribly, but this got the job done lol. I had to wait until he progressed further to get his help with the rancor fight as well because Indo was the last "snack" left in the room and Smuggler Ruffians only have one interrupt skill. So... embarassingly lame lol.
  7. First, I want to say that I think you guys did a fine job overall with the patch and the switch to the discipline systems. While I was hesitant, I have enjoyed the changes made in the disciplines, and I have especially enjoyed the changes on my Bounty Hunter Mercenary. So this is definitely not a game-ruining disaster update lol. You guys did a good job and it's appreciated. I will suggest (hopefully joining other player voices) that it feels like there was overkill on the nerfs for Scoundrels and Operatives. For me personally, it felt like some of my favorite skills overall were removed (Shoot First and Orbital Strike) and the nerfing of heals for damage disciplines has made it difficult to contribute as a hybrid class player. I, frankly, feel kind of useless when playing my scoundrel now, and I know my husband has felt a great deal of frustration playing with his operative. I understand that the classes needed to be balanced, and I respect that. I just wish this could have been done without nerfing so many skills (and then replacing them with skills that just don't seem as interesting-- this is opinion, of course). I can definitely understand that damage needed to be reduced to balance things out. Could these skills be brought back with reduced damage? Also, could we have one other heal for non-Sawbones besides the rather-lame diagnostic scan skill? Just suggestions. I'm not sure what the best solution would be, but it just feels like the changes for these two classes were overkill (and this doesn't reflect in the rest of the game-- like I said, the changes to bounty hunter were fine). Frankly, it's made both classes rather less fun to play and feel sort of useless in a group if you're slotted for DPS instead of healing. Thanks for what otherwise was a great update. Excellent work on the Revan story.
  8. I'd like to add a /sign onto the idea of keeping 12x XP as something like a legacy unlock in the future. The game had gotten very tedious for my husband and I when we tried to level up subsequent characters after our first two reached 55. We have had a blast with the 12x XP-- we can take our time on the planets we enjoy but don't feel forced to slog through the likes of Balmorra or Belsavis just to see where the story leads. I do agree it should be something that can be earned as a legacy unlock (not just bought with Cartel Coins-- there's enough of that sort of thing already) and for players who don't care for it, allowing them to not have to participate is fair. For the rest of us, I had almost entirely given up on this game-- this has been the most fun I've had in SWTOR since beta. Definitely in favor of this boost being made available for either special events or as a legacy unlock. Thanks, Dev Team for this great idea.
  9. I'm in favor of RP flags simply for social purposes. It's incredibly hard to find random RP in SWTOR unless you're in the right place at the right time or are part of a guild. An RP flag basically just signals to other players that you're "in-character" and would be up for random RP. It's easy enough to turn off (usually you just type /RP) and trolls can always be reported. It was a helpful tool in Lotro and it's difficult to find RP in SWTOR without it or character bios.
  10. All awesome suggestions. The devs are definitely aware of this thread as it appears they are consolidating RP suggestion threads and directing players to this one. With that, I definitely second adding Pazaak as an in game feature and also am in favor of having the option to put up an RP tag. I know not everyone likes to use them, and that's cool, but for some people it's a huge help to tell who's actively looking for RP : )
  11. Let me count the ways! I love the immersiveness of storylines in SWTOR, but there's many things I think LOTRO did very well that I'd love to see here. -Overall better awareness of RP Community (and the fun factor): While there are bad apples in almost every batch, in general RPers are fairly easy to please. We tend to like the simple things in life, and LOTRO provided these consistently: environments primed not just for combat but for exploration, hidden locations prime for player events outside of cantinas, an intuitive music system, player festivals, frequent additions of social clothing items and emotes, inclusion of basic mechanics like bios and RP tags, etc. In many games, the RP community ends up getting lost in the patch/content heavy demands of PVP and PVE. Lotro managed to keep an excellent balance where RPers almost always felt like they had been remembered and pleasant surprises came almost every update. -Cosmetic System: Ability to dye clothing and more social clothes (not based on quest-grouping rank). The orange armor system works, but it would be nice to be able to click a tab and be in a different outfit. -Non-Combat Fun: This is the key area where I think Galaxies lost its fizzle in the final years. Lotro still manages to keep a lot of content for players that doesn't require blasting your way through enemy camps. Additions to player dancing/music, non-combat events, social hobbies-- hey, KOTOR provides a great idea. Let's have the ability to challenge other players or NPC's to Pazaak! -Legacy Weapons: Something similar to Lotro's Legendary Weapon system would be great. I think there's definitely room for improvement, but the premise was sound. -In-Game Voice Chat: Very helpful for questing! -Better Graphics Adjustments: Ability to adjust brightness/contrast/etc. would be great without having to window out. -Housing Neighborhoods: The fatal flaw of housing in galaxies was that you could plant that sucker anywhere. While it was certainly fun being the only person with a house on top of a tower of rock on Rori, I agree that over time player houses started jacking up the landscape of the game. Lotro's neighborhood system is very well thought out, though a less constricting decorating system would be great. -Barber/Image Design: The ability to change your characters appearance would be a huge help. Especially in universe like Star Wars, its not unheard of someone could entirely change their appearance.
