  1. Don't forget to add the survey failure onto the bingo card!
  2. Well here i thought atleast a survey couldn't go wrong.... i think someone forgot a number (probalby meant 500 instead of 50). My improvement was: "I prefered the previous way of gearing up more. The galactic command crates would be a nice additional thing to get while playing, but now they are just detrimental to my enjoyment of the game. If i have to grind them for weeks for the offchance of maybe getting decent enough gear to just continue propper endgame progression raiding I really don't see the point in continueing to sub."
  3. It's a non issue really, as the original value of the item is money. The issue is that the monetary value of these items fluctuated because of their 'temporary' reductions. Refunding at full value would be a loss to write down in their books that they don't want to, refunding at reduced value might also be putting them open to some legal mumbo jumbo **** that they might not want on them and their company (services sold but not rendered, kind of stuff? I don't know, i'm not american/canadian nor a lawyer. Think thats why they're taking a month to figure stuff out with the legal department so they got their bases covered for when they do shaft us: company appropriate visual representation).
  4. No no, you're misunderstanding how they do things, it's a proven and tried method of how much can we get away with without getting fired for incompetence: - Monday: Talk about weekend affairs, grab food on company dime, play video games. - Tuesday: Talk about monday night, grab food, play video games - Wednesday: Start thinking about what report they did this week on fridays video call with the money people, grab food, play video games. - Thursday: Prepare what you're going to throw out on friday right before lights out, as preparation is key, don't want to rush things, grab food, play video games. - Friday: Have call with the money people, grab food, play video games, throw out what you planned yesterday, leave for weekend. - Saturday: Ignore work inbox and any other work related stuff as its your time off and you deserve some self time. - Sunday: Ignore work inbox and any other work related stuff as its your time off and you deserve some self time. - Monday: Oh huh, I gueess people didn't really like what we did, ah well, lets write some platitudes and then talk about weekend affairs, grab food on company dime, play video games.
  5. So Bioware is technically shutting down non subscriber raids effective immediatly until further notice, leaving those guilds that have their raiding teams partially comprised of non subscribers in shambles for the next couple weeks/forever? Great job communicating things in a timely fashion for people to prepare for these scenario's. Oh boy, I can hardly imagine all the happyness that will flow from this the next couple weeks. One of the main rules of propper guild bank management is not simply giving everyone access to withdraw from it, but to fix this unnanounced quick change you want people to give everyone access to the guild bank so they can continue raiding the next couple weeks while we wait for 5.0?
  6. To be honest, I think they did get a budget/do get a budget that is somewhat decent, but they were lazy and mismanaged their money and it got taken away. And even then, the amount of 'story' we got these past (6?) months is barely something people would pay 20euro's or so for if it was made by a small studio (we get what, with some luck maybe 3-4 hours of story dialogue padded with a lot of killing inbetween, the majority of the story even being the initial 9 chapters), and frankly speaking probably didn't even take them 2-3 months of proper work. Now they're doing an event to justify that they barely do any work by trying to use an event to leverage the statistics they can pull from the game to give them 'good results' on the reuse-ability of their content and the activity of players: - Look people still make new characters to experience the content we have in place! - Look people still go through KotFE with freshly made characters! - Look people still do this endgame content and make new characters even to do it! - Look people still ... And all this so they can justify another end of year 2-3 month 'sabbath' like they pulled last time.
  7. Considering 2-3 good cartel items can get you 40million (its what i do from time to time, i clear out old gold items i have), all you really need is what 2-300 good cartel items for 4billion. Even if you don't count on rng and just the fact that some people are loaded enough in real life to spend a lot of money on cartel coins so they can just sell cartel items/hypercrates non stop for money it shouldn't be too surprising there are some very loaded people out there. Hell, if you were to be really dedicated, you could do a lot of dailies in a single day across multiple characters for even more money. Is it possible part of this currency originated from the 2-3 (or is it 4 now?) exploits in the past couple months? Oh definetly I'm sure they didn't get it all cleaned up, but I think a significantly large ammount of this money is jsut because the game lost a lot of its credit sinks. (Barely any people do progression raiding anymore, which by virtue of the constant wiping on bosses already drained millions back in the day.)
  8. Well this whole contest seemed badly thought out from the get go really. Including load screens into the whole timing was just a stupid thing. The better thing would have been: Boom presto, no discussions no weird ****. Also: /stuck causing bugs was just bad QA again, as is usual with the exploits off late. The fact that /stuck has been an integral part of the game that is used to get arround annoying bugs that they don't feel like fixing is also one of the reasons every run should have been looked at seperately. Changing the rules after a few days was also a major **** up of them, it also wasn't communicated properly, if anything they need a window in game to give people important messages, especially with 'rule changes' like these (or the exploits in the past). Really hope one of the real winners is american and has the time and money to sue them out of principle, but I doubt it. To the guy that said they probably can't take prizes away, in the olympics they can take medals away, they can take full prizes away from stuff as this as well, its just a matter of being willing to. If for marketting reasons/publicity reasons they can't take prizes away they still should reward the propper victors with their prizes as well. It's not like free game time & cartel coins cost them anything anyway (its all virtual), the biggest cost would be the london trip, and if the guy isn't all that happy with them and does bad publicity, well its their own bloody fault isn't it?
  9. Because the scrubs in my guild can't survive nim's, hm's without me and the price for operation passes is higher then a sub? I really wish you could say why you resub, and just mark 'none of the things you guys did in the past year made me think: oh my I really have regained my faith in you'.
  10. Weird thing is that it doesnt seem to always throw an error on the localhost resolving of the data, so maybe for patching it hosts a small webserver for already downloaded data before switching back to the server to fetch missing data? Tried some versions of the urls in the log to see if i cant manually pull that donwload.solidconfig file from somewhere but no luck.
  11. Main reason to make it explode is, that as the exploits have shown, stuff only gets fixed once too many people know about it/start abusing it too massively.
  12. There was some advert space where i went to watch it for the Disney Infintiy 3.0 star wars figurines, wouldn't have been too hard to get that trailer in there in a way of "Still want more star wars, check out the old republic, battlefront, etc..." i'm surprised disney didn't go all out to advert all their star wars based games out there to get more sales and thus money for all of them.
  13. Except, as the time people could exploit has proven, it still cost you a ton of clicking while using the highest level gifts to get a companion from 1 to 50. Not to forget the screwing over of people that had finished all companion and story content when kotfe hit by doing a basic and definetly not fair conversion of 10000 affection = 10000 influence, whereas people notice that their companions hit 20-30's just running through the vanilla story. Not making atleast the alliance influence legacy wise is the same oversight they had with the datacrons that took them 3-4 years to fix. I can get not making companion influence legacy wide, but they could atleast put a sort of extra coloring on the bar to show 'incase story purposes requrie you to have X influence for a character you don't have to bother getting it this high' --> Which would immediatly fix some of the quite pointless grind to get certain companions that you have unlocked across your legacy anyway. (I'm quite happy i didn't have to do anything to unlock qyzen, and that for lokin i could just turn in whatever rakghoul stuff i had lying about). edit: nearly forgot I have to agree with the original topic of the gifitng of gifts being disconnecting. I would have loved unlocking extra tidbits of information in Lana after sacrificing 3 characters their common data crystals to get her to 50. Or learning more about Veroa every 10 influence levels. Most of the companions at this point in time are just random aliens you had to pick up to get this star fortress destroyed, weirdly always in a similar manner, somehow they decided "Oh hey, i know we're suffering, but first you must dig a well and uhm... clean my trousers before we will help you, even though clearly you don't need that help, to take down these shield generators." start side rant:
  14. Currently for say the underlurker hardmode in the first 3 minutes i used noble sacrifice 9 times, trying to throttle back on the usage as much as i can, this still comes to 432 force. On the walkers on 8 man hardmode i even used it 31 times in 6 minutes, which is 1488 force in that timespan compared to the 400 with the propposed change. While some of the usages might have been 'for naught', it still shows how much of a actual nerf it is.
