  1. Defection, defection, defection, every point you make can be explained by that. A sith pureblood being RETRAINED as a jedi? Not hard. A Mirialan that falls to the dark side and thus chooses to join the sith (which by the way has Sith Lords that are aliens, whether or not the Sith always like it, it's still allowed)? Also, not hard, if you think outside your box you'll see it's not as bad as people make it out to be
  2. Since I realized I'm responding to your posts in different threads I'll just leave this here too: By your logic there should only be one Jedi Knight, Trooper, Smuggler, Consular, ect. Which leaves for a total of 8 players per server, seeing as how the story only leaves room for one per class. Also those companions that everyone shares? Impossible get rid of them, dying and constantly being able to come back even if I jump in molten lava? Absurd we must have no more of this, being able to make a speeder magically appear? I'm going to unsub right now!!! Or maybe just maybe I'll loosen up due to the fact that 1. This is a game and 2. This is a MULTIplayer game, and I'll allow others to enjoy the game the way they want to and if I don't like it, seeing as how I'm not providing the only source of income for the company that owns the game I can either unsubscribe (you won't be missed) or enjoy it my own way and let this insignificant details go. Also in a galaxy with sentients in a far larger number than we could ever imagine its not that hard to imagine a few hundred of a race rebelling against a regime they dont agree with

  4. Because giving people a chance for further immersion in an mmoRPG is totally absurd, no way a Chiss or Sith Pureblood could have a mind of their own and defect, or someone who isn't a trained jedi or sith be able to use force powers (even though all throughout the game you see this isn't the case in the slightest). Oh wait they can? Well then excuse me!
  5. Wow so much whining, Legacy isn't even something they had to add, it's something to add a bit of fun and give further immersion. The fact that people are crying over a skill you can use once every 20 minutes just proves people will cry over anything if you let them.
  6. Level 32 I believe and only once, had kira just as well equipped as I so that probably helped.
  7. Maybe it's because I went into this game with the mindset that all the classes were pretty equal and would require the same amount of work, or maybe because I started as a Guardian as opposed to one of the "ez mode" classes, but I never understood the whining that guardians/juggs get. I've had absolutely no trouble with any of the bosses except for the one that you fight on the bridge back to your ship towards the beginning (and that was only because I was still learning the ropes). Elites are relatively easy as long as I effectively use my defensive skills (which dont even have long cooldowns), and once you get Doc everything basically turns into ez mode x10, I actually had to tell myself to remember to rest after each fight when starting a new character because I was so used to hopping from mob to mob on my guardian. I don't know if people don't realize they have to keep their gear up to date, or that they have to actually think about their rotations (since Guardians have one of the longer rotations for their skills) or even that they should actually be using their interrupts (yes interruptS, force kick is not your only one) but I simply do not see the problem. Even in pvp I have a blast as a def/vig tank spec guardian and average 7-9 medals while still aiming to win the match. Maybe I'm just the weird one, and everyone else knows what they're talking about
  8. Cant speak for marauders or sents but with guardian vs jugg, I much rather prefer the graceful attacks of the jedi vs the brutish power attacks of the sith.
  9. So people really do find any reason to complain. If you seriously want a squadron feeling, make a squad!! Play with your friends and organize times to log on. Join an all trooper guild (plenty exist you just have to look) Some people enjoy going solo, adds to the heroic feeling in a world where there are those that are capable of slicing through entire squadrons of troopers, makes you feel like are a cut above the rest. If you don't like it, they give you the option to play with others.
  10. Guardian here but seeing as how we're mirrors I'll give my 2 cents, the fact that you're writing off the class at 24 due to "lack of gear" is sad. With quests, AND commendations you should be more than fine whether or not you pvp or do flashpoints. I'm 90% sure quests give a few orange modifiable gears (even if they don't commendation vendors surely do), and all you have to do is keep up to date with the mods, simple as that. You'll also save way more credits that way, I'm level 42 and have NEVER bothered going to the GTN to buy a single thing.
  11. Do you think this will have a bigger impact PvE wise or PvP wise? Or do you think it will benefit me overall? I wouldn't say I'm squishy at lvl 41, takes about 6+ guys to take me down quickly when I pop defensive cool downs in pvp (have scored many huttball points that way lol). As for pve the only time I go down is if healer slows down for some reason. Solowise, I have no issues, I even use kira over doc.
  12. .....I'm staying patient here. My point was because a tanks DAMAGE tends to be LOWER than who someone is a DPS spec, they need soresu form which generates more threat to make up for the fact that they do LOWER damage than a DPS. That was the point I was making with soresu it wasn't some off topic arguement. You said just 2 posts ago damage and threat are distantly related yet not the same at all (which contradicts itself) and now you're acting as if you didn't. I pointed out that they are very closely related which means they're more similar than you originally stated. I also never said at any point those defensive skills are pointless I said they aren't a big enough factor to say that hybrids are worse off at tanking than pure builds. PvE wise I pointed to my quotes to counter your survivability argument which you refuse to acknowledge for some reason, and as for PvP from my experience I get the highest protection rates per match. With a pocket healer my deaths drop significantly, while raising my kills even higher. As for Marqhill thank you for posting your experiences, it helps me to see the pure side argument a bit better for pvp, forgot about the 2 second stun from force leap, I can also see blade barrier being a bit more useful in a pvp situation.
  13. *points to previous quotes* and to your next point, except for the fact that the amount of damage you inflict and the speed you inflict it with are both large factors when it comes to threat. That's why soresu form gives you 50% higher threat, and certain attacks give extra threat, or else the dpsers would ALWAYS pull aggr, since they outdamage tanks
  14. You miss out on a total of 2 defensive skills by going hybrid, Blade barrier, whose effectiveness is up for debate, and Inner Peace, which I wouldn't argue as a big enough factor to count out hybrid. Now if they made blade barrier alot more effective then yes without a doubt Defense would outshine Hybrids in survivability but as it is now they're both effective, they just require different play styles. One could also argue that because a hybrid can burn through enemies faster due to their noticeably higher dps their survivability is just as good.
