  1. My theory for the cause of FPS drops is the red tessellation (hex-shield might be a better phrase?) that surrounds the arena: http://gyazo.com/f3539ff1a8af0013eb431a5d79a72537 It tends to "pulse" mid-fight as a flavor animation and it usually makes me drop a few frames when it occurs.
  2. Most important things to note in that post highlighted. Season 3 was such a farce. Baron Deathmark put it best: "Cheating is encouraged!".
  3. There are a few abilities in this game that give vague descriptions of how effective they are. For example, the Imperial Agent is given Shield Probe with the following description in game: (There are more vague abilities that I can compile later but this is just to illustrate the point.) http://gyazo.com/170a75f1342d70cf90540715c8dab4fb The issue with this is it doesn't tell us how much damage is actually absorbed or if anything affects it's scaling. "Moderate" is too vague of a description for something that is supposed to be a defensive cooldown. In addition, it's almost impossible to discern how much of an increase in shield strength you gain with purchasing each rank without consulting a guide. Is there any way that the Developers can look into this? It would be easier for players to learn how to use these abilities effectively if they were told what they did exactly.
  4. Game's dead. PvP obv wasn't that good.
  5. As someone who hasn't played this game in weeks... I have no doubt people will be voicing just as many complaints about WS' PvP a year after its release, too. People hype that game just like they hyped this game pre-launch. It will fail to meet expectations just as badly as this game did. Quit inflating the developer's egos by hyping a game you haven't extensively played and maybe you won't be burned as badly when you finally realize the problems with PvP are ingrained into the MMO genre, not the game alone. And no, I haven't forgotten how poorly they handled Ilum/Ranked 8's/etc.
  6. Hey guys, it would seem that PoT5's PvP population is about to take a nosedive (if it hasn't already) from Wildstar or just genuine lack-of-interest in the future of the game. I'm scouting potential servers to *relocate since the American servers are inconsistent at best these days. *: (By relocate, I mean re-grind since you can't transfer from U.S. to Euro). I wanted to ask a few questions: Rough guesses are fine. -What is the PvP population like here? Are the factions fairly balanced? Or is it consistently one-sided? -What are the solo-queue / team Arena queues like? Who are the top teams (factions)? -How many of the said teams queue daily? -What is the general "mood" of the PvP'ers here? Are they actively playing the game or are they slowly but surely unsubbing?
  7. Roll with whatever Mod/Enh you want to stay within bolster. Mid-range Power + Power Surge will do You should be using the Arkanian Healer armorings, though.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/user/HotPepperGaming More Specifically: TL;DW: Game representative reviews/plugs their own game while under the effects of a Hot Pepper.
  9. Which number do I call to make noise complaints? Are they pet friendly? I have a pet Rakghoul. But they have a bad reputation because a handful of bad owners. Mine is the nicest one you'll ever meet. Is the community pro-Rakghoul or anti-Rakghoul? What do I do if my house is repossessed? Can I get a loan for the house? Are they furnished or do I have to provide my own stuff? How many bedrooms/bathrooms are in said property? How is parking handled? And who do I have to kill if someone parks in my space? How are the public schools? Are there any parks nearby? Do said parks have Frisbee Golf posts set up? I hate Frisbee golf. Is there a garage for my vehicles? I make a lot of money on the regular and want my rides to be protected from rain. What is the real-estate tax? Do I rent or own the property? What should I look for when I walk through a home? I killed the last few Realtors for showing me properties with a roach-filled mattresses. What happens during flooding / power outages? What if my neighbors become my best friends and I invite them over but they never leave? Can I change the locks? The food in my refrigerator has gone missing and I don't think it was Skadge this time. When is garbage day? Will I have a yard? I have a lawnmower speeder but I haven't seen any grass in the city.
  10. I think damage should be removed from the game since it only exists to kill my character. And I should be able to opt out of healing since needles scare the **** out of me. OH AND IN WHAT WORLD DOES ATTACKING SOMEONE HURT HIS FRIEND WITH A SHIELD? DOES THAT TANK HAVE A VOODOO DOLL OF HIS BFF IN HIS BACKPACK?!?!? /sign. Lets get rid of nonsensical and unstarwarsy stuff.
  11. Given the state of the game's population and where it may be headed....I think this story arc is going to lead to something a lot of players will hate/love: I presume this series will conclude with an explanation as to why the Republic is going to team up with the Empire in future flashpoints/operations/etc. (BWs way of announcing co-faction Operations). Though I have absolutely no way to prove this besides observations of the game around us.

    Rude people

Speaking from experience: (When I was 14-16 playing other MMO's/Xbox Live). Some people (not all) play games to escape from reality. Some people that "escape from reality" are doing so because their IRL problems are eating away at them and they need somewhere or someway to either forget about those problems -- or find a way to vent into the game or onto others to make themselves feel better. In a PvP sense, I remember being rude for: 1. Being heavily invested in something that I enjoy doing and picturing the un-invested people as personal burdens. When I saw others that were "bad", I would take their poor skill as something of an insult to my gameplay. Ex: "Why are these bads wasting *MY* time? Why did (game studio) put these players with me? Why do I have to shoulder the burden of their incompetence? They didn't put in the time to make themselves better like I did, so why are they in my match / slowing my progression?" 2. Being in a terrible mood due to IRL concerns and having that mood seep into how I interact with people in the game. Ex: "God I hate X...but whatever, I'm going to load up (game) and forget about it for a while." *Queue minor PvP annoyance*" "OMG (TEAMMATE) WHY DID YOU DO THAT? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!?!?" 3. Other players in a terrible mood lash out at me and put *ME* in a terrible mood. Ex: Me: "GG everyone. Was fun" Player X: "Was probably fun for YOU, but *I* had to backpack you, baddie." Me: "Uh, alright then." Player X: "Kill yourself" Me: "Ugh...*SCREAM*" Nowadays, I can't really say that I lash out much at other players (in chat anyway). I think my brief period watching people e-rage in League of Legends made me realize how cringe-worthy it is to lash out at something as insignificant as 1 WZ match (out of the thousands and thousands I've played).
  13. Eh, gear is easy enough to acquire. And this tier isn't that much of a jump from Obroan -> Brutalizer anyway. Last tier the jump from Conq. Relic to Obroan relic was nuts! Now it's only +50 to the proc. Plus, I like some of the Conq. Appearances. I'd hate feeling like I was missing out on free comms by *NOT* trading them in -- even if the new stuff is easy to get. Just my opinion.
  14. I think the "class imbalance" is coincidentally a balance of both being "real" or "perceived". At the moment, I think it's falling a little on the perceived side. There are *some* problems with class performance, but I believe it stems from certain classes under-performing due to "excessive" class limitations / "un-involved gameplay" rather than "X" class being OP. Most players can't distinguish between these two sides of the balance spectrum and jump to conclusions quickly. Though I will admit in certain cases, yeah..."X" class or ability needs to be toned down. Right now, I don't really see anything that is overly powerful besides Focused Defense. But if I'm being honest, I think the problems I currently have with FD is a L2P issue. It simply hasn't existed long enough for me to adapt to it in combat. Once I discover how to play against it on each of my characters, I'll probably endorse its existence.
