  1. Blizzard didnt make the WoW engine if thats what you think. Almost all companies outsource the engines or buy engines already made. It takes a long time and lots of money to make one from scratch. One of the few game companies that makes their own engine is Valve, and ID.
  2. This is false, they didnt switch engines. They bought the rights to the game, then took the ideas of what was in it and completely made a new game. They didnt copy anything over. You cant just copy 1 engine to another. this is the engine we have, this is what they will work on to make better. Why didnt they use a new engine? CAUSE THEY WORKED ON THE GAME 5 YEARS BEFORE IT EXSISTED. Use your heads folks, you think they buy an engine a week before the game comes out?
  3. Its simple on how to use them to great effect. You can fire your reg missles on all targets EXCEPT shielded targets on command vessles. You can still fire missles at shielded stardestroyer/corvette shield generators. Target the far shields/engines first. 2 far dead, now target the bridge. Bridge dead, now target the 3rd shield/engine. Now dump your missles at the last one. Tada done. Can you bone yourself bad by not using them correctly? Yes. Can you learn to use them in 1 to 2 mission attempts and then forever be able to use them like you have a brain? Yep. I honestly dont understand people pitching a fit over things that take 1 to 2 trys... reminds me of groups in WoW, boss whipes group once everyone bails. Its called learning from your mistakes. Could they use improvement ya, id agree with a toggle to activate and deactivate them mid flight, other then that they are fine. And at current they are FINE. Use your head people. My only complaint is that they are for killing major hard points that the only point to killing is to get exp, and at 50 you dont need exp. They need to be available at like lvl 20 or something where that is a useful thing.
  4. Here is whats funny. Say they had waited 2 more years, no matter how much time you wait the mmos will always have bugs and always need more time. It is part of coding and developement. You can not code a 100% bug free perfect game everyone will love and shower you with praise for. Skyrim took 4-5 years and is one of the best games ive ever played, it still has bugs, question is can you look past the bugs and continue to enjoy the game? I can in both TOR and Skyrim. Mass Effect series also had bugs and yet look how loved they are. Only differance is that these games continue to grow and change so bugs become an eventuality. Either learn to accept it or stop playing. And im not saying that to be a jerk, its something that wont change so either have it eat at you forever or move onto something that will make you happy or fail to make you happy not a perfect world.
  5. I think its playable now so in 2 years i expect to still be enjoying it.
  6. If you need help read my post on page 2. I give about every tip i could think of, if you use those and cant win fairly easy every time nothing more can be done for ya.
  7. The differance isnt huge its massive. Being able to double your firepower or shield regen, being able to avoid being hit while fighting one of the larger ships. Being able to wipe out an entire space station / harrow class hard points in a single burst. The torpedos are the only thing thats kinda lack luster. Torpedos can only be used against a shielded hard point and even then it seems to be limited to specific ones on star destroyers/space stations. You cant use your missles while you target the hard point. Torpedos are one thing you can leave off really and not notice a diff. Its silly that you get them at lvl50 when about the only point in destroying a birdge/station relay is to get the bonus exp which you dont need cause your already lvl50. They should be more like a lvl20 upgrade especially since its a green item.
  8. I lvled my guardian tank spec from 10 up to 50. Once at 50 i thought it might improve some. It didnt. Even with good gear and a healer companion its laughable how NPCs tear through you, yet you flip over to dps and you tear it up.
  9. First thing i do in the mine field is blow my emp 1/2 into it. 96 mines destroyed at once. Can reuse the EMP again since i use it so early.
  10. I have a lvl50 guardian, i speced out of tanking because it was rediculous how much dmg i took. At 50 i had like 42% mitigation, 30% shield chance and 30% shield reduction. I speced into LS dps. I dropped to 30% mitigation 10% shield chance 20% reduction. But i gained almost 40% more dps. I take almost the same dmg but deal way more then i used to. I dont know anything about vanguards. But i can say guardians dont feel like tanks. Our 2 defensive abilities are active for 10-12 sec with a 3min cooldown..... our agro generation is pathetic. DPS/companions can pull off my guardian repeatedly. Guardians have far to many abilities that do almost exactly the same thing. Honestly i tank better as a DPS spec then a defensive spec. The def spec is almost all about reducing the cost of our dps abilities, that totally doesnt help with taking dmg and throwing out agro, which is what a tank is supposed to be doing. And "guarding" someone doesnt seem to do a whole lot, kinda pointless with so little bonuses. Hope they fix this. Need to change saber ward to have the +40% ranged/melee defense but also any time you (deflect) 50% of that dmg is returned to the target causing high amounts of threat. Also put it on a 1min cool down. Make it one of the higher tier boxes in the tank tree. Would make them OP in pvp as our dmg is crap and our defense is crap atm.
  11. The uber best parts arent nessary to win, the vendor sold parts + fleet coms will get you everywhere you need to go. Read my post for tips. 20x ace pilot in SWG helped lol.
  12. I hate to say this but, your joking right guys? Space isnt hard at all if you understand it and gear your ship. 1) Save your EMP generator for taking down max amount of targets. Aka firing it above a space station or over a harrow class star destroyer. Or taking out an enitre mine field. 2) Save your Sensor jammer for when your going to be fired on enforce. Aka upclose to a lot of incoming ships/fire. 3) Proton torpedos for ship bridges, target the farthest engine/shield generators first. Or target what you know you will get the least time to target later. 4) Learn to use your power conversion module to switch from offense to defense at the right times in the fight. Switch to defense to recharge your shields, kill fighters with missles while in defensive. 5) Spacebar rolling will save your life LEARN TO ROLL. Correctly timed rolls can dodge asteroids and other objects you would normally faceroll yourself right into. Learn to use it to dodge massive incoming waves of fire. Rolling from left to right side of the screen while maintaining your target lock is key. 6) Missles for shielded targets like engines, shields and bridges, bottom of space stations, if timed well i end up with 50+ missles left at the end. Use them on fighters once your main objectives are complete. Remember you can fire 4 missiles in 1 go by dragging the click over multiple targets. 7) Use both keyboard and mouse to maintain your target lock while keeping your ship in position. ASDW FTW! Honestly i can beat all the space missions if i have to with no shields guys. Not bragging but its not rocket science. I dont even have 1 epic level space part on my lvl50 ship. I don't die, and my escorts don't die either. And I complete all bonus objectives. So get up there and practice.
  13. I have to go with assasin droid for either faction. And a beast handler for either faction. I absolutely loved creature handler in SWG. Give me a rancor and a kimogilla and id never stop playing it. And since HK47 was a big part of the Kotor games, we need a HK-50 or something. Give the droids the choice between a stealth/blaster rifle/sniper/pistol trees. And creature handler could have medic, beast enhancement for dps, and beast enhancement for tanking. BTW guy above me is talking about dath night sisters. Which i could see being added not as a class but a variant race of force users for the 2 exsisting sith. Night sisters use light whips which is pretty cool weapon. Would love to see dathomir in game.
  14. there is an option in the UI to enable "Compare companion". Mine i switched on and it compares the gear to my toon and current companion.
