  1. From the latest (3.0.1) patch notes: So looks like the issue of Silvers hitting like a train has been resolved And also, I can finally cleanse boss mechanics: 3.0 was bugged horribly, but if BW keep fixing them quickly then hopefully, normal funny story service can be resumed!
  2. So, Level 1 - 55 content is fine once one has aquired a set of Level 60 gear?? Well, that's reassuring!! (I guess you meant to post this in the other thread about L60 FPs being too hard? This thread was those of us that didn't pre-order SoR in time for early access to QQ about how Lvl 1 - 55 content seems borked at the moment...) With regard to the weirdness of current Level 1 - 55 content, I think it will pass. I'm looking forward to harder content, and I'm pretty sure alot of the issues with 1 - 55 content at the moment is due to bugs, not design. The Customer Service / Bug Report forums are full of issues at the moment. Some Lvl 55 bosses throwing out double the damage they did previously. Silver mobs < L55 throwing out more damage than champions. Alacrity increasing rather than decreasing cast times. Accuracy mods not working. Cleanse not working. Various other skills not working properly. The list goes on... Once these are resolved, I think Lvl 1 - 55 content will end up a bit harder than it was previously, but not the frustration fest it is at the moment... Which I do believe is a good thing Its just a shame that so many bugs seemed to get through testing...
  3. This sums up how I feel. Healing < L60 is just not fun any more - its trying an tedious and I get the impression tanking is the same. We need more Tanks and Healers in game, but right now I feel (for the first time ever) like rolling a DPS and giving up healing Never though I would be whining in a game forum.. Ran a PUG HM FP yesterday with tank I've run with before without any issues. By the end and several wipes later, we were nearly at each others throats.. all the group was massively over geared expect for one DPS who was under geared. Wiped on the last boss twice (DPS check mechanic). Guess who was copping all the flak for wipes... until the undergeared DPS dropped and we got a overgeared replacement and finished. Before 3.0 we would have carried him fine... but with nerfed heals and a broken cleanse I was frustrated beyond belief. "So what?" I hear you say, "everyone in a FP should have appropriate gear or not be there" But here's the problem: BW created the situation where there are loads of undergeared people in HM FPs thanks to KDY, 12x XP and now this is going to make things worse: Making people get to L50+ quicker but at the same time making HM FPs even more dependant on gear seems contradictory and misguided to me... I agree... things just seem really unbalanced to me at the moment. There are all kinds of other issues people are reporting such as Strongs hitting harder than Champions. I know alot of people on the forums say "I'm sooo l33t I haven't noticed any difference", but balance to me definitely seems really off in many areas at the moment. That being said, I'm sure it will get sorted out over time... but right now I think I might take a little break and come back in a couple of months...
  4. For what it's worth, it's broken on the pub side too... Restoration (with Mend Wounds) should cleanse physical but it doesn't. So things like Rasmus Blys' DOTs are no longer cleaneable. Haven't run a HM Hammer Station yet, but if the mining laser is now uncleansable, that would be pretty game breaking.. Logged an in game ticket (no response yet) and created a thread on the Customer Service forum http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=780607&highlight=restoration that you might want to read / bump in the hope this gets some attention
  5. Eh? I don't think you're the weird one here at all... my preferred tactic for that on my healers (Sage / Op) is not dissimilar. Mark that left hand elite, then hug the wall on the right so I'm not in line of sight (well, line of blaster fire) of the droids by the doorway. When the tank jumps in, CC the droid (force lift / stun droid) whilst the tank is grabbing aggro then poke my head round the corner and start healing like crazy... I much prefer that pull when that elite on the left is CCed. Makes the healer's job 10x easier IMHO..
  6. There's a bit in the latest trailer around 0:50s, where
  7. The stations are really there for groups that don't have a healer. Saying that, I'm not too proud to use the heal stations in the couple of places where those heal stations actually make life easier Examples would be: * The boss in Manaan with the goo / lightning mechanic. Hit the heal station just as he starts blasting everyone with lightning, and the party stays at 100% health the whole time. * As already mentioned, the boss in Korriban that has the ceiling collapse mechanic. Hit the heal station just as he starts and again it will keep everyone up even if they stand in stupid But on most of the other boss fights, as others have mentioned, the heal stations just mess your healing rotation. TBH, if a healer can heal through the HM versions of Czerka, why would they use the heal stations on the tactical version?
  8. Yes - my tongue was firmly in my cheek when I wrote that! Quite hard to convey sarcasm on the interwebs sometimes!
  9. I've had nothing but great FP experiences recently. The only odd thing I'd had was at the beginning of the Foundry: Me: hi Tank: hi DPS: hello Other DPS: OH YEA I NEEDZ A NU LIGHTSABER WOOOOOO 'Here we go', thought I. But things turned out perfectly normal from there on. Then today I get two weird FPs in a row... First up, SM Foundry. I'm levelling my Op healer. We get a jugg tank I regonise from a couple days ago (s)he's pretty good. One DPS drops straight away 'dinner ready' (we requeue but never get a replacement), second DPS is an Op. Op DPS pulls out their comp and we pull the first group. I'm getting beaten on my several mobs. Pop all my DCDs and debilitate the mob still beating on me and get back to healing.. Op DPS: healer heal! Me: keep the ******* mobs off me then First and only time I've sworn in a FP. Nobody dropped below 70% the whole fight. *confused* Section with the corridors of giant droids interspersed with packs of trash by the data machines. We clear a trash pack except for a strong mob who is beating on me. Tank and DPS run off. I stun the droid. Me: guys Tank realises what happened and runs back.eanwhile Op DPS engages the next big droid. We struggle a bit at HK and the bonus boss, but get through both first time. Ops comp goes down to bonus boss' spit as they don't use passive to move them out try as I might I can't heal through it. Revan. Op DPS has their back to the railings. Revan does his 'mega knockback' and over they go (taking their comp with them) Op DPS: wth? That's called a knockback. Revan hits like a piece of wet celery, so the tank and I are fine until the Op runs back. We finish Revan off and I whisper thanks to the tank... Can't bring myself to thank the Op as I'm still annoyed by their comments about my healing at the beginning. After that, figure. I'll have a KDY to restore my faith in PUGs. Me L41 Op healer. L43 jugg dps with Kuat title. L26 Mara DPS and LVL 27 DPS. Should be a cinch, right? First stage, starfighter assembly. I thought things were weird when we were by the Elite droid. Me: Elite? L26 Mara engages. Jugg and other Mara run to the other side of the consoles. I watch them on the mini map running around in circles. Eventually, they join the fight. Second stage, Armoury. Both maras and I go one way into a pack of trash. Jugg goes the other way, runs a circle round pretty much the whole area brings all the trash on top of us. We wipe. Clear everything except the defence droid. L26 Mara and I start clearing trash in corridor. Jugg and other Mara run away again. I look at area map - they are both back in the starting room, running in circles. Me: where are you going? No reply. I'm starting to think I'm being trolled. Boss, sticky grenade guy. L26 Mara and I follow the bomb disposal mechanics. Jugg runs to and activates a heal station whenever hit with a sticky bomb, but still takes bomb damage and is out of my heal range. L27 Mara ignore mechanic totally and goes down right next to boss. Jugg goes down soon after. I try to stealth rez, but get interupted by AOE so that's the end of that. Jugg and Mara run back. Mara this time comes with us for the next bomb disposal mechanic, but then ignores it after that and goes down again. Jugg caries on with health station routine. Mara runs back and we clear FP. I whisper the L26 Mara 'thx. that was harder than it should have been' Mara: yeah. hard. thx for heals TL,DR: weird people be weird
  10. Just for fun, post your wild speculation about 3.0, along with half-baked reasoning. I'll get the ball rolling: 1) 'Revan' is really HK-47 in a 'meatbag suit'. After all, we learned in TSL that the HK series can mimic voices 2) 'Revan' is really Colonel Daksh. The glowing red on one side of 'Revan''s mask is clearly Daksk's Laser Optic Eye... Over to you!!
  11. This please! I guess when 50 was the level cap, people had infinite time to get suitably geared for ops. But I seemed to go from 50 to 55 in the blink of an eye - by the time I was geared in what I thought appropriate for 50 ops, I couldn't do them in GF anymore!
  12. I was thinking: Well-Fed Womp Rat = Plump, Juicy Womp Rat = Bait for SandClaw According to the Codex entry for Duneclaws, they are "omnivorous" (tasty womp rat!) and "duneclaw is able to navigate in dim light through echolocation and can easily pick up sound waves made by other creatures". Echolocation immediately made me think of the seeker droid - could Duneclaws be fooled the way dolphins are fooled by military sonar (allegedly)? So I spammed the seeker droid everywhere. Nothing. I also went on a dewback killing spree, so they made some noise. Nothing. The codex also says: " For this reason, duneclaws can often be found hunting prey near Tatooine’s cliffside caves and other dark enclosed spaces" , so I tried kiting the womp rat into every corner and dead end near the cliffs of the Outlaw's Den. Nothing. The only perhaps slightly useful thing I have found out so far, is that the medical centres in Mos Ila and Largona use a near identical model to the GTM in the Outlaw's Den. Only the medical centres aren't missing a ventilation panel, and don't have the "weird ledge" in them either. http://imgur.com/DrUgJct EDIT: Thinking more about 'echolocation', I thought of the Burba Seismic Excavator. I tried spamming it all over the Outlaw's Den - including in the open vent inside the GTM (it fits in there nicely!) as a sonar ping through an air vent would make a crazy echo. But nothing.... didn't have the buffs at the time though, as somebody else had already killed the vendors. Slightly interesting point - dropping the Seismic Excavator next to Kezzit make it explode (as Kezzit has a HK part in his possession), and Kezzit react with it - but doesn't do him any damage, nor aggro him. Out of interest, and probably completely unrelated, did anyone ever figure out if it is possible to get the 'upgraded' versions of the Seismic Excavator? http://www.torhead.com/search/burba - long shot hope that if echos are related somehow, a more powerful ping might be the answer... maybe aggroing Kezzit for the elusive fourth buff... I guess they were probably going to be for Cybertech crafters, but never implemented? But otherwise, I've tried very little and now I'm all out of ideas
  13. Thanks for the heads up Can I respectfully ask, how did you get the womp rat all three buffs? I can only kite him close enough to the Jawa vendor, he won't come close enough to the other two. Does it require two people, one to kite the womp rat and one to kite the vendor to meet in the middle or can it be done solo? Thanks!
  14. Rewatching the original YoutTube video revealing the Ancient Tome I can see nothing unusual on the roof. Also, there are several of those yellow windows on the opposite side of the building. I haven't been up there recently to see if anything has changed in a recent patch. We should defo try that. I don't think that the window lines up perfectly with the vent shaft - the shaft is probably more like in line with the outside vent to the bottom left of the window in my screenshot - but it's hard to tell for sure. Tried checking them with clicking and the macrobinoculars - but no luck. Again, if we find another building on Tatooine that uses the same model - and has that one window in the same place, we can probably discount it. My original theory on the tome was that the big crack on the room is the way out, rather than way in, to the tome. After reading the dataminer rumour about being transported to the Tome from a room of 'white light', I thought of the episode of the Simpson where Homer eats the insanity pepper, trips out and wakes up in a golf bunker. I wondered if the Wamp Rat Fever (according to the description cause death, but doesn't ever actually kill the player) and desert exertion might produce a similar effect in the player, but instead after tripping out in a room of white light (near death experience?) they wake up in the tower at the top, next to the tome. But this new evidence of the missing panel has made me totally rethink - it does sound logical, and far less cryptic, to just send something up the vend shaft (wamp rat or pet) to retrieve the tome... That CS quote about "keeping your eyes out for news" does make me think that a clue or the last piece of the puzzle might be coming in future patch notes? Or it's just part of an event
