  1. Saved this from reddit a while back: https://imgur.com/a/qKrjM8H It starts with the more classic Fett look and at the very bottom is one that looks more like the TV series.
  2. This thread has been a very interesting read. Normally when I see someone post this type of thread on a game's forums, it is met largely with white knights defending the game from even legitimate criticism and sometimes people even insulting the OP. But what has been so interesting about this thread is how much agreement I'm seeing about quitting, or general problems with the game.
  3. Apparently not. Other games, like Star Trek Online for instance, tweeted their condolences the same day the news broke, within a matter of hours. So it's really anybodies guess why other game companies did so, but Bioware did not.
  4. For many American companies, Christmas and New Years blend together. A lot of people in certain industries are off the last week of the year.
  5. Glad you liked them! I haven't played them yet, but I hope I enjoy them as much as you did. That said, whether either of us like them has nothing to do with them being a monumental success. That will be determined by the behind the scenes metrics of how many players they attract and how much money those people spend.
  6. Interesting theory. So using your logic, do you think that all the other COMPANIES(not individuals) who have posted their condolences all consulted with their legal departments and actually got responses back during the holiday season? Most of them on the very same day the news broke? Because that actually sounds like a pretty unrealistic scenario.
  7. I don't think they actually "need" it, but I think something like this could have happened: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9192547&postcount=6 So in a nutshell, someone might have decided to ask for permission just to be on the safe side, never gotten a response, and therefore never made a comment.
  8. There are 2 separate issues that are not actually the same thing that some people are mistakenly mixing together: 1) some sort of official in game statue or memorial or event for Carrie Fisher 2) expressing condolences on social media I totally agree with your comments regarding them probably needing various permissions do actually put something in game, and the conflict between the game's timeline and the character of leia. On the other hand, some people are just a little "surprised" they have made absolutely no comment on social media, when many other games not even in the Star Wars IP have done so. Those 2 issues are not the same thing, and should not be conflated together.
  9. Interesting; that plays into my idea about needing to get permission and never hearing back. Since the Bioware and EA people are obviously aware and active on twitter, I'm sure they would like to say something if they could.
  10. Same is true of the other games/companies who have made statements. That is why I think it must be something like I mentioned on the last page: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9192547&postcount=6
  11. What do you mean by "so important"? Does asking the question (of why they haven't said anything) = "so important"? If so, let's use your own logic. Why is it "so important" to YOU to know why it's "so important" to other people? Or is it possible that people asking questions out of curiosity without something having to be "so important"?
  12. After a bit of thought, I think there is only one realistic reason why there has been no comment: When the news first broke, someone in the Bioware/EA PR department probably sent an email to their contact at Disney asking if it is OK for them to post their condolences. While this "step" may not have been technically required, the person was probably just playing it safe by asking permission to make a statement. Due to the holidays, whoever the Disney contact person was is probably out of the office and isn't replying to emails. So since the Bioware/EA PR person never got permission, no comment was ever made. I know that sounds kind of silly, but that is literally the only realistic reason I can think of.
  13. Yeah, maybe so. Although as others have pointed out, other games seem to have cared enough to pay respects on their social media, even though those people have the same holidays and vacations going on. Just seems a bit odd, but "different strokes for different folks", I guess
  14. I don't necessarily disagree with what you are saying, but it has nothing to do with the actual point of the post you quoted/replied to: The poster above did not say there should be an in game memorial. They simply pointed out that STO's twitter made a nice post to pay respects, while TOR's twitter has not even acknowledged her passing. All that stuff you said about in game statues and count dooku has nothing to do with that unfortunate fact.
