  1. Im not sure this is the thing that would save SWTOR. Sure, it would keep SOME people interested but I dont think those would be massive numbers.
  2. Im asking specifically about handling the 'all NPCs are killable' part. What if I spawn camp a quest giver? Wont that screw up content for everyone else?
  3. How would that work? Should they respawn a few minutes after you kill them? Should they become premanently phased out for you but present for everyone else? Should they stay dead for everyone with the game world empty of NPCs a week after launch? Who would kill you on sight if there were no Troopers left alive? How do you create a quest narrative in such conditions? If its phased how do you group up and complete content with someone who's killed different NPCs than you?
  4. Throwing SWTOR under the bus for Anthem is a really ****** thing to do. I could understand if it was some grand ambitious project but a loot grinder? Come on.
  5. I have high hopes for this - my wish is for EA to make a game so horrendously monetized itll spark a revolt against microtransactions among mobile players.
  6. Actually, now that I think about it, there might be one (probably last one for a long while unless it miracously becomes a smash hit). I remember reading about Amazon having an MMO in the works. It was a while back though and I havent heard about it since.
  7. From my experience reading forums is the quickest way to lose interest in a game.
  8. I could agrue with what you wrote but I really dont have to. The lack of new big budget MMOs being developed does it for me. To be fair, Im not saying youre wrong per se, its more that it doesnt matter. Making games is big business now. Its run by suits in boardrooms. If the f...s cant see something in a pie chart, it doesnt exist. There was a time we had a new MMO (or three) launching every year but nowadays big AAA studios keep away from the genre. You cant argue with that. Also Im not convinced MMO players are as loyal as you think. Sure, theres always a small core of devoted fans but from what Ive read when an MMO launches 40-60% of original players are gone within 2 months. If a game has 30% of its original player base by the half-year mark its quite a thing. Yes, new players come in to replace those who've left but were talking about loyalty here.
  9. AAA studios in the west are done with making MMOs. Why bother when you can something else with half the budget, quarter the effort and rake in twice the money while avoiding the never satisfied MMO playerbase?
  10. Thanks Keeper of Iokath chest, hands and belt. Zakuulan Preserver's legs and feet. Juggernaut's Renowned Headgear. I find it looks pretty cool with the added bonus of not being particularly expensive or common.
  11. Think it was 'no longer developed' not 'shut down'. Tho one may lead to the other very quickly.
  12. And thats why we get regular updates to CM but not the game
  13. Obviously its not dead... but depending on how much new content we get in the future it might very well be in a vegetative state.
  14. I agree. There should not be a gulf but on the other hand we dont know Bioware's 'targets'. No class is easy to master. Thats a non-answer. I could very well say 'all classes are easy to master, its not like this is rocket science' but that brings nothing to the discussion. Some classes are easier than others. Some have a higher skill ceiling (but its at the skill ceilings that you get the numbers were discussing here). Also I thought we were talking about a specific spec. You know, the one with a gulf behind it.
