    PVP Pet Hates:

#1 Hate is people who quit midway during match because they might lose. #1* Those people mentioned above who tell everyone on the team they suck before they quit. I just had a match where this happened and 3 players quit when we lost a node and then 5 of us remaining recaptured and held two nodes before more players joined and we ended up winning the match. Win or Lose I never quit.
  2. I often play my Sorc in Regs and even in ranked and I do ok. The secret is positioning, knowing when to phase-walk, when to bubble, and when to run away. Understanding your class's abilities and weaknesses is a key.
  3. I must be doing it wrong because my Sorc healer gets killed pretty quickly when focused in PVP with fully augmented 242 gear. He's survivable and is able to kite, turtle up and phase shift but once those tricks are used up he goes down really fast. Now my newish Merc Healer with augmented 230 gear on the other hand feels practically indestructible by comparison. When I get on him I can just stand in the middle of everything and throw down heals while at the same time throwing in DPS and I rarely get killed. Basically, if you can't kill a Sorc you're doing it wrong...
  4. This is a completely stupid analogy. First, BW encourages you to play ranked with big first time bonuses for trying it out. There is no warning that the vast majority of people in rank are *****holes who take this game way too seriously. The game mechanics are set-up so you get rewards for playing ranked whether you win or lose and after 4 matches you (even 4 losses) you get a nice reward. So your interpretation of ranked is obviously much different that the interpretation of the game developer who encourages all to try ranked. Maybe their should be some different skill buckets, whatever but the vileness of the folks I've grouped with is definitely uncalled for and is a real turn off for new players. And no, the "don't que" didn't bother me more the other stuff and the fact there was not even one polite whisper saying "maybe practice more" or "maybe switch to DPS" or anything constructive. You jerks in ranked are going to turn new players away from it and without new players the game dies. I'm coming to this game from DDO, which is about dead now because of the lack of new players.
  5. Ok, I que'd for rank exactly 4 times over a period of three days, so not back to back. I'm also very ok with constructive criticism, or suggestions, but the only ones I got was don't que no more, delete the game, quit, etc. So no, I can not nor will not try to understand these people since IMO they barely qualify as people or at least those I've had the unfortunate pleasure of running into in my four ranked PVP matches. I will admit it's a rather small sample size, but the trend doesn't look good.
  6. My son is more tolerant than myself and tells me to ignore them, but your advice still sucks and your elitism is definitely showing. The bigger question is how do you get good unless you play more? How do you learn unless you first fail? I know I suck at ranked PVP; it is brutally apparent when I get smoked seconds after I jump in or I spend the fight running around instead of healing. I think I do very well in un-ranked PVP always ending up at the top and often getting one or more MVP votes. The problem is the cliff between ranked and un-ranked where one doesn't prepare you for the other. I'm ok with criticism, especially if it is helpful, but what I get from ranked has been nothing but mockery and utter disrespect. It's just a vile atmosphere, and from what I've read thus far it isn't just me who finds it abhorrent.
  7. I'm new to this game; played during BETA and maybe a month after launch, but nothing more. I've just got my healer to 70 and have really enjoyed unranked PVP so decided to try out ranked. Never have I came across such jerks, a-holes, and just not nice people. Never a suggestion other than to , "please don't que", "you are undoubtedly the worst healer ever", "please quit this game", "delete this game", "go kill yourself (my favorite)" and several other variations that spanned 4 games. I've met some real nice people in in-ranked and throughout the game but ranked has made me want to quit. This is the same grief my 12 year old son got as well; just deplorable human beings I've ran into. I've sent whispers saying to back off from my son and got more of the same crap. It's subscribers that pay for this game and I currently have two subs, but the if this is the way all new players are treated then i'm not sure how this game can grow.
  8. You nailed it, not sure which one since I dumped them all to check but I have a nice clear shield again.
  9. Is there any way to correct this? Every time I cast Static Barrier a white opaque shell surrounds me instead of the transparent shell. Force Barrier displays correctly when I activate it. Thanks
  10. I really like this game but like so many others I'll be voting by cancelling my not renewing my sub in July. The whole character transfer mechanic is just a weak way to put off the ineveitable server merges and will only make it worse for people on low population servers who don't transfer.
  11. I just re-subbed to DDO, looks like this game is going on the back-burner. Too bad, the game has a lot of potential but too many problems and lack of people making it not fun any longer. My sub ends in July, hopefully they'll have these issues worked out or I'll be another person leaving this game.
  12. The same naming issues happen when people transfer from one server to another. Server merges on the other hand keep the community together and merge it with another. They did this successfully in DDO without any issues and the naming issues don't last very long. What does a name mean if everyone on your server has left?
  13. This is getting ridiculous, merge the low pop servers now. Warzone ques can take over an hour, there are planets with only one person on them at times, this game looks like its dieing. In general chat everyone jokes about how bad it is and more people are leaving every day. This will be my last weekend as well, not because I dislike the game because I really enjoy it, but because my server is completely dead. I just re-downloaded DDO and will be heading back there because of how poorly populated the servers are. It's a real shame because there are so many cool features that make this game unique and fun, but if I wanted to play solo I would just buy another console game.
  14. Thanks for posting this, sounds interesting and I hope it works as intended.
