  1. What do they sell in the Cartel Market that has stats and actual combat value outside of crystals?
  2. These complaints are easy to make when you're not the one footing the bill.
  3. Have you read from the devs that it was planned? If by "planned" you mean they did it on purpose then yes it was "planned". But it was a split second decision in an attempt to preserve data. It wasn't something pre-meditated.
  4. And that is the reason why they don't do it .
  5. Your "hyperrbole" does exaggerate a point. The point that you don't know how to properly use a hyperbole. If 2 seconds combined to crouch/stand up is such a waste of your time maybe you should consider all the time you're wasting fighting to get the loot to drop. May as well just log in and get loot so you can log out right away.
  6. When you break it down EVERYTHING in an MMO is a grind so if you keep thinking of it in those terms MMOs may not be for you.
  7. First off, I get what you're saying. Some people like one or the other, not both and that's okay. But this is where World of Warcraft has done a beautiful thing for all other smaller MMOs. WoW MUST cater to all player types because they like their huge sub numbers, but that gives other MMOs a unique benefit. They can design their game THEIR way for a niche audience. SWTOR launched as a PvE game with a PvP option, but PvP became overwhelmingly popular in this game at launch (much to the devs surprise). I don't have a large sample of people to pull from, but most people that I know that play this game now came to it because of its well-structured PvP. BW decided they liked having the PvPers so have been patching the game for PvP ever since launch. That said, BW loves telling a story and as such loves PvE as well. This means it is in their interest to design events with both PvP and PvE elements. And as a non-WoW MMO they can do this since their fanbase is more a small set of devoted players than a large pool of semi-invested players. TL;DR - Separating PvP and PvE could be good for some players, but it does not capture the essence of this game IMHO.
  8. Yet was he not calling himself better than THEM for having the time? My point is he became the thing he hated, just the other side of the coin. And that is not okay. There are more constructive ways to make your point than giving someone the metaphorical finger.
  9. The first part wasn't, no. The first paragraph was a wonderful read. The second paragraph though was a direct attack on people that don't have as much time to play the game as he does. Call that category what you want, I normally see it referred to in this context as "casuals".
  10. For all the elitist jerk players that want their entire existence to revolve around a game without working IRL. Suck it. Every time you guys whine it makes me a little sadder and we don't need your attitude here. If you want to be a contributing member to society, go to work. Seriousface though, I'm glad you enjoyed the Gree event so far and feel your hard work in the game has paid off, but the second paragraph is really unnecessary. Different people like to play games different ways. Neither the casuals nor the hardcores are wrong, so let's stop the fighting.
  11. My fiancee is a VERY casual player of this game, I am not. We pay for a six month sub for me (for the 600 points/month) then use those points and in-game money to keep her supplied with the goods and upgrades she needs .

    The New Illum PvP

The problem with open-world PvP is not in it's design. Yes you can design total crap WPvP, but you can also design MAGNIFICENT WPvP and still have it fail miserably. Why? WPvP relies on the players to play it as intended. If the players choose to "objective swap" there isn't any designing or programming the developers can do to make WPvP more engaging. When I played World of Warcraft my server had a THRIVING World PvP community and there are no objectives in WoW for WPvP period (Wintergrasp and Tol Barad are not open-world, really). Good World PvP relies on a playerbase that WANTS to PvP for the sake of PvPing.
  13. I've never played a game that added this at some point and it didn't make life 100% more enjoyable. I support this decision wholeheartedly.
  14. I was not here for launch, but from what I heard about launch-version Ilum this is probably correct. That said, given how many games in the past have overcome this issue without completely rewriting their games I feel if BW became serious about WPvP this would be a fairly "easy" issue to resolve, especially since how much work would be going into creating the new systems for PvP anyway. My guess is it just currently is not a priority.
