  1. When the cheap transfers opened up there was lots of conversation, but it's not clear now where people ended up. Did we actually consolidate onto one server? (Considering mostly EST)
  2. I'll give you the better Execute phase, potentially, but with Sabotage Probe and its remaining charges, and the must stronger Shock Probe (or whatever it's called), I have to say Hybrid ends up ticking harder and bursting harder - at the cost of a longer setup. Quickdraw fitting in there I'll give you as well, though I seem to end up using it and then finding it not off cooldown by the time I get to where I would normally trigger it. DoT protection is nice, but it's not true DoT protection. You'll end up reappyling anyway. And for the defenses, I'd say Sabotage resetting everything is better than a slightly stronger shield.
  3. Hey all, just wondering if people can offer their input about pure DF vs the hybrid. I've used this hybrid mostly: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#700MZbIMbRRboZGboRrMRoM.3 From what I can see, you get more single target burst/DoT/pressure from Shock Charge and Sabotage Charge, plus the added defensive benefits of Sabotage, plus the AoE pressure if you want it. Whereas, pure DF has a fair bit less single target pressure/DPS... Can anyone point out what I'm missing? The only thing I can see if pure DF has a bit less of a ramp up time.
  4. I have to cast my vote for the tank tree. Play in DPS gear with the healer. Lots of AoE (valuable since many groups are weak mobs), still decent defence if you carry a shield, steady regen, and terrific sustained damage. You literally never have to stop, and if your gear is up to speed, you can handle a lot of group content solo. And I found it quite fun. No Balance/Madness ramp up time. No Infil positional issues.
  5. Truly, I wouldn't mind a decent Solo Ranked spec that has a bit of versatility. And it's nice to be able to go toe-to-toe in most WZs. I never have the time to do team ranked. Do you think steady survival trade-off is worth what you gain? Pre-2.7 when everyone was a smashmonkey I would have thought so, but now you see that many fewer AoE specs. I like adaptability/not being dependent on getting in regular Pebble ticks, but if I'm bother to play tank, I'd still like to be able to hold up as needed.
  6. Glad you like it, though I can't take any credit. I'm merely raising the discussion about a spec I saw in a different thread.
  7. It's mostly the cooldown difference that makes Low Slash attractive. It can hit for a decent amount too, but the cooldown is half.
  8. I've tinkered a few points here and there, but I've played with something basically like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rcRoddfzZfRcRzG0oZb.3 I haven't had much of a chance to really test it hard, so I was interested in seeing if others had already put time into it.
  9. Hey folks, saw a thread a little ways back (post-2.7 though) talking about shadows using a 22/22/- type build. Is this something people are actually doing? The idea to get the quick CC of Low Slash but also the control of Force Pull. It's clear you're giving up the AoE/dmg reduction and the Force Pebbles buff... but does it work out worth it? Just curious on people's thoughts.
  10. So I've been playing Shield Tech for at least this past season, and I enjoy it. However, one wants a chance of pace sometimes. AP was nice for that for a little... Now though... How awful would I be to be a DPS spec in my tank gear? Am I totally trapped now other than grinding out a second gear set?
  11. Sorry, I should have clarified I meant PvP. Just wondering if anyone has compared the two great sets.
  12. Oh come on now folks! I'm not going to buy my new gear till I hear what you think!
  13. So I've tried out the popular build for taking that goes AP instead of ST; I have been doing it in tank gear and found pretty solid success. However, I've noticed most recommend DPS gear. Does anyone else think it could work in tank gear? I like having the ability to take a bit more heat, especially with that shield on.
  14. Thanks a lot. A pity you can't RE awesome armor you find, seems like it'd be a useful reason to have Armortech. Otherwise it seems to have limited value. Oh well.
  15. Hey all, Can anyone advise me about whether armortech can discover orange versions of things? I thought I had heard you could... is there any way to tell if you'll be able to make an orange version of gear you RE? To illustrate, say I can make a green chest piece I really like, could I RE to blue, and then RE it to purple... and eventually make an orange version? Or is there gear in the world I can RE into a craftable orange? Thanks in advance.
