  1. Forgive my intrusion here, but if I've read these rules right - you're preventing any member of your guilds to be a part of the rest of the community this way? As someone who is interested in joining on one of my alts, but has characters in the community abroad, I find this troublesome. Perhaps some clarification?
  2. Original Post The Imperial Reclamation Service has seen fit to create an autonomous branch of its purview for the sole purpose of seeking out truth or history and bringing it to light by any means necessary - be it via research, discovery, force of arms, or espionage. To that end, this new branch has put out an open recruitment call to those of skill who would aid in bringing glory to the Empire. The Reclamation has use for any and all skill sets, from the intrepid explorer to the stealthy agent, from the social aristocrat to the battle-hardened warrior. Those who would join this prestigious organization would find a wealth of purpose and opportunity amidst the Empire's elite. Contracts for enterprising personnel with experience in historical acquisition can also be accommodated. For the Glory of the Empire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: The Reclamation is a Heavy RP Guild with medium PvP, PvE and exploration opportunities under the RP premise of "Find what's out there and TAKE it, for the Empire!" with the intent to compliment and mesh with the currently existing Empire RP Guilds. Simple things such as monthly RP Datacron runs ICly viewed as 'Digs', Guild PvP forays into warzones, and regular guild-based RP events can be enjoyed. Though each of these will be guild-based, we intend many of them to be open-RP events as well. Our guild chat is OOC, but have an IC created channel for those who wish to participate but cannot join the guild proper. The guild is currently led by Lord Ilireth Necare, with Malea, Dae'shahan and Sleth serving as the current guild Overseer(Officer) and Analysts(Elite Operatives), respectively. The guild is open to all classes and characters on the Imperial side of the faction mechanic, as the scope of the Reclamation's IC goals require and can make stories for any skillset - as the IC advertisement implies. As always, our OOC goal is first and foremost to have fun and create more RP opportunity for the server together.

  4. My better known characters are Sciran Demura and Fenrir de'Tormentavi. I like ALL the cookies. Om nom nom. I'm a fairly prominent RPer, love running RP events. Into a lot of PVE stuff, though I'm not much of a raider - I prefer the flashpoints and hard modes and the group heroics and such. Always willin' to help out the new guys, too. Currently helpin' run stuff over at the bigger Begeren Colony Forums 'cause many of us RPers are into making a server community. Tryin' to encourage more PVPers and Raiders to be a part.
  5. It's awesome that BioWare has finally put up server forums dedicated to each server, like many of us have requested so long ago. However, some of us did not wait for the forums to come up on their own, and built something instead: The Unofficial Begeren Colony Forums. And while having our own official place now is nice, there will likely never be the opportunities for an RP server to come together here on SWTOR.com that the admins over at BC.org have offered - such as the ability to chat with other BC'ers, a shared calender for planning events, RP forums, and more. Because so many of us are already used to using these unofficial forums to plan and enhance our gaming time on Begeren Colony, it's likely you won't see many of us here on the official forums - and we always welcome more players to the forums to continue to enhance everyday playing. However, none of us wish to create any segment of competition or schism here. While I and many others feel the opportunities and the presentation over at BC.org make those forums BETTER, there will never be a point where those who use it will express any prejudice towards those who prefer the official forums. Our community should be one that thrives to grow together, and not squabble over differences of preference. We welcome everyone who would like to experience a stable and growing community of players that have been building since even before the first server merges. Let's make this community the home it was meant to be.
  6. Well, we've had server forums for a while - Check out Begeren Colony Unofficial Forums! There's a good number of folks who use it already, plus it's got a lot more than what BioWare has offered us thus far. I like it, I hang out there a lot. It's more useful than this place.
  7. David Hayter sounds awesome as the Male Jedi Knight, but the way he sounds in space missions just makes me want to blow my own cockpit up. Any line is... Dumb. Add to the fact that at the start of EVERY space mission, he complains about my shields. Leave my shields alone, darnit. They're keeping you alive. Standard lines I hate: Jedi Knight: "I'll handle it." - He sounds dejected about the thing. Like he's saying "Goodness, shut up, I'll handle it already." Doc: "Have you met my Jedi friend?" - Was awesome the first time. Boring the 100th. Grating the 1000th. Sith Warrior: "Very Well." - Most deadpan and emotionless response ever. Trooper: "For the Hor-- Err, the Republic!" - I wish that would happen. Just once. My favorite line in the game isn't a standard, but comes from the smuggler: "Is that a hairstyle or did a womp rat die on your head?" Also, an actual standard from the Smuggler: "Uhh, did somebody say something about Credits?"
  8. I disagree that they'd have to add that many. Only one or two per storyline with a few current rewrites would still cover all the bases. I favor story over Hero-Sexualism, and for that reason I do hope the devs keep the personality of a character more important than what a player wants their sexuality to be. Doc, for example, keeps talking about all the women he wooed, scandals he's been a part of, and how he looks forward to all the women that fall for him since he's famous. Or saved their lives. That to me claims a very heterosexual personality. I want s/s relationships, but I still want Doc to stay Doc. That being said, I'm not against Hero-Sexuality. I just think it's a poor decision. Falls in the "Yeah, that's good, but you could have done better" department. And BioWare has proven to me that they do set sexuality better than Hero-Sexuality. Mass Effect and Dragon Age 1 felt a lot more convincing romance-wise than Dragon Age 2, for example. I really don't think that forum rage should be a drive for any content. There's a lot of forum rage about why can't female shepard be with Tali, too - there will always be forum rage about any decision made, ever. A little closer on-topic: I really think they should add a ceremony cutscene for when you do the whole marriage thing with any companion, o/s and s/s.
  9. Ord Mantell, smuggler, listening to a couple cry about losing their son. Mother: He has to be alive, he has to! I must know. If he's cold or-- Smuggler: *Interrupting* ... Did someone say something about credits? Later, on Coruscant, the smuggler runs into some bounty hunters... Bounty Hunter: You two make me sick. Hey you! Hold it right there! Smuggler: Is that a hair style... Or did a womp rat die on your head?
  10. I vote "No Toggle", myself. I can't toggle the same-sex partners out of a Star Wars novel, I can't toggle straight people out of my school, and I can't toggle lesbian couple out of my mostly-straight-guys television show. I feel games should follow the same pattern. I believe Dragon Age: Origins handled the showing/not showing of same-gender content extremely well. It was an option on the wheel, but it was natural, and you could even back out of it naturally if you had selected the wrong option accidentally or thought it lead somewhere else. To be clear, I'm not gonna throw a fit if it does come with a toggle. I only have one character out of my five that would even be interested in same-gender content. But the other four should have the choice half-way through the game to make that switch if they so choose. Or, heck, for the one homosexual to turn straight after the stress of the story is over, even. These ideas become impossible if the toggle is a set-in-stone sort of thing (which it would have to be, in the way it was presented in this thread). As a side note, there was a point earlier where some called making SGRA content censored or toggled compares it to profanity. The response to that was to quite how they will make chat bubbles togglable, and to say that it proves there are reasons other than hate. I don't know if it was pointed out earlier in the thread - I couldn't read through all of it - but did anyone else notice that the line itself still mentions that the reason for chat bubble toggle is "for those that hate them"? That makes it still the same thing, in my book. Again, if it has already been pointed out - then... I dunno. Sorry? Harping is not the intent. I am of the opinion that what anyone feels personally about whether they want to see SGRA flirts, straight flirts, or flirts at all is perfectly valid. I won't argue. I just find that when you go from one person to a group, any of those complaints lose their hold. Inclusion is always the higher road with society, I feel.
  11. They do have signs. Everywhere. They just don't really use words. They use symbols.
  12. I support Blizz for President. ... And he also makes a good mascot for this, too. Cannot argue.
  13. I am truly elated to hear that there has been confirmation and progress on this topic. I've been following this thread since my last posting in it (two versions ago) and have been sorely disappointed by the silence. I am happy to hear that there is a light amid the gloom. I guess all there is now is to wait to hear if it is new companions only or previous companions as well. I'd restart my Jedi Knight in a heartbeat if she can have Kira. This probably doesn't affect me much at all, since I'm a straight player and most of my characters are as well... But I really have to echo one of the posters before me - characters are discovered as much as they are created. Just because I only have one homosexual character doesn't mean I'm against the option entirely. I'll hardly use it. But I want it there. Equality, yo.
  14. For me, it's about the concept. If the character is a raging strength-based "SITH SMASH!" type character... To me, that lends to a beefy male. However, the Jedi Sentinel is very acrobatic and dexterous, lithe and mobile. This lends me to consider a female form for that style of combat - and that is what pays off. That being said, I am a major RP nut, so I usually end up with an equal amount of male and female characters. As I am male, though, one of the males ends up usually being my "Main".
