  1. Hi Trixie - this is a new install. Freshly patched with the original launcher. I have attempted to use the steam launcher as well and get the same issue. I have also attempted to repair the client_settings.ini file as suggested in my original thread, along with the suggestion to simply delete the file - all failed. Other more modern games run well (when they run given they are buggy messes when released) and this should run on my system given that it is an overkill system.

  3. Hi Jackie, Not sure if this is tied to the memory leak issue, but I have an issue where the I will go to launch the game from either of the Steam based launcher or the directly downloaded version - sometimes get to the splash screen and occasionally But like 1 out (not sure how many) tries get into the game. When it does not get into the game it will either black screen and then shut down or get to splash screen and then dump be back to desktop or get a BSOD pointing to a driver issue. I have looked at the event viewer and seen the following: Information Fault bucket 1839078784478760938, type 4 Event Name: APPCRASH Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: swtor.exe P2: 1.0.0.0 P3: 656fb220 P4: nvd3dumx.dll P5: 31.0.15.4629 P6: 65677aad P7: c0000005 P8: 0000000000eeab86 P9: P10: Attached files: \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.191be6b5-c88c-4525-a5dc-e865be95727c.tmp.mdmp \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.80fcff0b-1f0d-4d77-8c98-0269aaefcbef.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml WPR_initiated_DiagTrackMiniLogger_OneTrace_User_Logger_20231204_1_EC_0_inject.etl \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.ab87ef81-aa64-42ad-b4a1-973170713f76.tmp.etl WPR_initiated_DiagTrackMiniLogger_WPR System Collector_inject.etl \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.0436c522-20a7-4986-8c2b-78ca06a3e549.tmp.etl \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.84d7c93d-9bd2-4e73-8829-b547d96eca31.tmp.csv \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.d8c5331c-c6a1-400a-afc7-1eb8b27698a4.tmp.txt \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER.2fe038c5-4b46-450a-8fb7-e44ced4faf7c.tmp.xml These files may be available here: \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_swtor.exe_5982fb7cac4239481325f90b974a7e928dc228d_51fcc130_804074b6-0237-4a06-891b-655094f2cd13 Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: 6425c49a-a4bb-43bb-a65c-87ef554a3ad3 Report Status: 268435456 Hashed bucket: b201e840538cbf438985b8691ed04fea Cab Guid: 0 Error Faulting application name: swtor.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x656fb220 Faulting module name: nvd3dumx.dll, version: 31.0.15.4629, time stamp: 0x65677aad Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000eeab86 Faulting process ID: 0x0x2DEC Faulting application start time: 0x0x1DA2B514A620FEC Faulting application path: F:\Star Wars - The Old Republic\swtor\retailclient\swtor.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_31dab972145ae5a9\nvd3dumx.dll Report ID: 6425c49a-a4bb-43bb-a65c-87ef554a3ad3 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have also tried to edit the clientsys, ini file to match my monitor and done a full reinstall on the system from Windows up along with a DDU and reinstall of my Nvidia Driver. 4. Did exactly that and it still won't start. I will need to wait to early saturday (my time) and try them again. This has been a complete farce.... (not your fault - at least you tried)
  5. Hi OwenBrooks, Tried this, the text listed wasn't Fullscreen = false D3DFullScreen = false RefreshRate = 60 However, this did not work. The install is a fresh install as well (done yesterday) as well as fully patched. Does anyone else have any tips. EA Customer Support is not helpful.
  6. Title says it all. No matter the version of the game I try (Steam or Directly Downloaded) the game will not launch from the Launch Pad. I haven't played the game for a while and recently upgraded the CPU to a 14900K with 64GB DDR5 running at 6000mhz When I go to launch the game from the recently (as in today and last night) the game goes to start, I get a black screen and may if I am lucky, get a splash screen showing the most recent chapter - then desk top. Running Windows 11pro (which was my OS before the upgrade) and it worked perfectly before I went to play today. I did call support this morning Aus Time, but was not at all helpful sending me a link back to the page where I got their contact number. Can't call now because they are closed. Any ideas?
  7. All my windows updates are done but will check when I get back home. Thanks.
  8. These are an example of the elevator error that is happening in the game: https://youtu.be/G5RG0IrjF8k https://youtu.be/8oFQjv-QbXg You will need to go to the end of the video to see that the lift is stuck at the top of the riser and is not decending like you would expect. There are no trigger locations to get it to decend either. Additionally I am also getting a funny issue where objects in GSF are disappearing and not returning. https://youtu.be/ARFQInLTHzU
  9. I am not intending to play at 1280x720, this was what was suggested by the tech in game as a fix as they could not replicate the issue at all. I actually play at 1920x1080 (max for my screen which will be next on the upgrade list and is most stable for my card {it was all i could get at this time of limited supplies on current and last gen cards}) I haven't tried an entire GSF mission, but it happens on all and on multiple toons as soon as I log in. I was meaning video drivers, which are current. I haven't checked the other drivers, but they all updated when I connected to the net after first boot. will check them out and update. Yep - All drivers current and up to date Not really tested at this stage, but it is way better than my gen i7 7700 Laptop with it discrete card.
  10. Hi Folks, I seem to have an interesting problem with the game since I built a new gaming rig. I installed the game this time last week and noticed that when I go to play a space mission the items that form the area and enemy ships all disappear. All I am left is a background with some planets and my ship that will do the actions directed. I posted this as a bug and was told to do the following: 1) Download and run a new SWTOR_setup.exe from http://www.swtor.com/download - Done. 2) Run the launcher repair utility - Done As well as 3) Confirming that the drivers are up to date 4) Changing the graphic settings to following a. Graphics Quality Preset = very low b. Resolution 1280 x 720 c. Windowed Mode d. Visible character limit = low e. Grass quality = 0 5) And I have repaired the game client - Done I have attempted all of this including a complete reinstall of the client today and still get the same issue. I have a video of my settings showing that I have attempted the above with no joy. System specs are as follows • CPU Intel i7 11700 • MB MSI Z490 A Pro • GBU CoolerPro AMD Raedon RX 580 – 8GB VRam • RAM Corsair Vengeance 3200 DDR 4 – 32GB (2x16GB) • HDD Corsair 1TB M.2 SSD in PCI 4 spot. Game plays from this Drive which is also OS Drive. Using Windows 10, version 21H1
  11. I have just built a new PC, installed the game and logged in to have some fun and have found several bugs which I am not sure is only on my client or could be system wide. I have checked my GPU Drivers and these are current. My Windows 10 OS is current. I have deleted and reinstalled the program. System is as follows: CPU Intel i7 11700 GPU Powercooler Raedon RX580 Ram 32 GB Corsair Vengence Running the game from the OS Drive which is a M.2 1tb drive. System has a small OC which stable Issues I get are when trying to complete a space mission all the items disapear bar my ship. When I try to complete a misson that involves a lift, it won't move. It either disappears or is stuck at the top. Any tips?
  12. Hi Folk's did an update last night Australian Time and when I try to play the game I know get the following: "This program encountered an internal error and will exit. Error Code: C7 Incompatible system. Please verify your system is compatible with this game." FYI I am running Windows 10, and this has not be changed apart from recent updates that have been mandated from Microsoft.
  13. Yes they can. Just make the servers PVE and let the players choose if they want to PVP or not. For all its faults that is what SOE did with SWG.
  14. Why should F2P casuse a delay. F2P are mixed with Subscription. The ques are the same either way
  15. Hi Daveros, The fact is that you have a choice in the matter and that is what we in APAC are asking for. I created a toon last week on Begeren conlony and had standing Lagh of 170ms. While in PVE that was ok, but it blew out to over 200 in combat. When you PVP in a warzone against US based playrs it will not be fun.
