SWTOR no longer going to Star Wars Celebration??
Taomist replied to Crenshinibon's topic in General Discussion
Holy ****, Crenshinibon, that really, really blows! I'd kind of figured I'd keep up my sub, 'cause I do enjoy the game, but wth, BW. This is just a bit much. This was a no-brainer. I am so disappointed for you, Crenshinibon. -
So whos actually unsubbing because of this?

I can't see any reason for me NOT to unsubscribe. This doesn't mean I will stop playing, it's just that there are several reasons it would be a waste of money for me. 1. I am an altaholic. I don't even have a 50 yet, 'cause all I do ingame is craft, RP, do a couple quests a day. I am SLOW!!!! So if I can do all that without paying, um...why would I pay? I've only ever played one MMO at a time, and 15 a month is totally worth the ability to drop in, do a couple quests, explore some stuff, work on a class line, craft some armour, check the marketplace, listen to general chat, etc. So far, I've played the whole game like a single-player game, but I love the events and RP and general smart-assery. If I can get that without a monthly fee, I will. What I do NOT get from this game, or any other, is the high-end dungeon content and high-end PvP content. I will never be part of that scenario no matter what <no negative reasons, just don't CARE> so if that's the majority of what a subscription unlocks, I won't feel like I'm missing a thing. And when a new expansion comes out, or I want to take my Agent further along his path after 50, then I can re-sub on my own sweet time. -
I know I wasn't alone when we bought the game thinking "Awesome, I can solo 16 different characters to 50 if I want!" And it's true, sort of. It's at the very least 8 different stories rolled into one, and I'm glad for that. I don't feel I'm missing any end-game content at this point. People run through the FPs so fast there's no storyline, just space-bar and move on to the next point. And the gear doesn't matter, really. It's just...gear. At the end, it's not a means to any other end, so...no biggie. I was hoping for, but not expecting, a DAoC-style open-world continual PvP environment, but that was never in the cards. I'd be a happy camper if that occurred, though

+2. Great job on transfers.

Good thread, lots of good advice. Thanks! -
Since 1.2 I've just been running the Moderate missions in slicing, which returns some profit. There's a bug and the ones that are supposed to return the most <like Rich> just aren't doing so. BW has stated they'll fix it but who knows when. In the meantime, even the moderates are returning purple and blue missions so I'm just staying with those until it's 'fixed'.

I get lots of cybertech schematics from slicing lock box missions, but just ship parts and speeder schematics. Which never sell. I finally just started a cybertech alt to use them, lol.

I've been seeing multiple people spamming trade with level 12-20 oranges going for 80K and up. ??? Are these realistic prices? Yeah I know you can spent the money to mod them up to use until 50 < I guess> but seriously, ***?

Now if I'd just stop getting Diplomacy missions all the time, argh. NOBODY WANTS THOSE!!!

The 'news team' and the broadcasts all over Fleet every 2 minutes for a solid week were perfect opportunities for in-game updates. Hell, I think the news pods, and maybe the broadcasts <just not so often> should stay in game and update people. Why not? It's immersive, it's easy, it's sensible, it makes a LOT more sense than trying to alt-tab out and then dig through the mess to find an answer to something that should suggest itself ingame already anyway. Could have given some up and coming tech company <ingame> credit for the vaccine and subsequent erradication of the plague; could EASILY have announced the date the plague was expected to be contained, and the travel restrictions lifted. -
Well I can't get back into Ven Zallow either, so is that three?

I read the title wrong, and thought it was asking if people were losing their jobs due to playing too much SWTOR. I am the opposite, being recently laid off and so enjoying the time to play for once. On the other hand, I'd be surprised if a gaming project didn't slim down it's crew after the release; a certain amount of the work people were hired for is DONE. Not that there's lots more to do, but it often requires different skills. As a whole company, well...I'm not worried about SWTOR in particular. Zynga can go bite itself for all I care, however.

Yeah, I used to drop deliberately and pick it back up again <slicing> because I was sure that a mission being green gave better results as far as schematics went. Still not sure about that one, but haven't dropped it lately. And as has been said many times, there's got to be a database error regarding the missions, that's ALL. Sure, there may have been some changes intended, but there is no way anyone deliberately makes rich missions lose money and moderate missions double it, I mean come on. They're not that stupid. Just enjoy the great returns on the moderate missions until BW fixes it. Also, I've done nothing but moderate missions the last few days and have had plenty of schematics drop. Didn't have a single one drop from rich missions before that, after 1.2, so if the changes were to promote missions from rich slices and money from moderates, they missed something.
