  1. The only thing that I don't use is zen. I use overload sabers, merciless slash, cauterize, etc. and I am specced to heal. I just did this in 16 man nightmare and had no problem and was the first person done with my boss. So, I have no idea what you're doing to cause that.
  2. Are you serious? You think because an encounter is challenging and forces the sentinel, and all other classes, to think about what they are doing during the fight, that BW needs to fix this? You can still use your DOTs on the boss. You cannot use zen. It's really not that hard. Furthermore, this is what separates good PvE raid guilds versus bad PvE raid guilds. Those that can figure out the challenging encounters and finish them. While this one in reality is probably the easiest encounter by far, the point still stands.
  3. You don't need to exploit the fight to beat the Emperor. It's just about common knowledge what's about to happen and that T7 for instance, should have been receiving gear from you for the past two or three levels of questing. I did it on the first try with a geared T7 and without even attempting for the chest. You don't need the chest.
  4. Congratulations on making level fifty. Yes, there were bumps along the way but, it really wasn't that big of a challenge. With that said, I never experienced a problem once I did hit 50 with content. I had leveled as a combat spec and then immediately switched to watchman. Within a day of reaching level fifty I jumped into HM flashpoints and eight mans with my guild without a problem. So, I feel like you're failing to do the research needed to properly play sentinel. With that said... I only use Doc. That's it. I'm a biochem so I have all of my own Rakata stims, med packs, etc. Having a rotation is not enough. Yes, I have my set damage "rotation" to apply my DOTs and despite not having the immediate burst of other classes, we make up for it in what I consider utility. For instance, our centering allows us to either spend it on zen, transcendence, or inspiration. If I know my group/raid needs to power heal I'll pop inspiration. Another example is on Bonethrasher (KP 16 man nightmare) last night. Since he is continuously switching targets, I popped transcendence as much as possible to increase our speed and ability to kite him. So what it really comes down to is having the intimate knowledge of the class. Do your research on these forums and Sith Warrior because from what I read in your initial post, you clearly don't possess that intimate knowledge.
  5. It's been said many times now but I'll say it again: It's common knowledge that you have to fight the Emperor and can only use T7. From level 48-50 you should be worrying about collecting gear for T7 from all of your quests that you are completing. When I first did the fight I had T7 tank him. He was killed pretty quickly but I was able to finish off the Emperor and thankfully one shot the quest. The name of the game is interrupts.
  6. Not even necessary. It's as simple as not using zen. Instead just pop transcendence and buff the raid. Like I already said, myself and the other sentinel (both watchman) have no problem dropping our bosses in 16 man nightmare before everybody else.
  7. With the Duel of the Fates you cannot use any ability that causes damage to another persons target or that heals another person. So either somebody is causing damage to your target, somebody is accidentally healing you, or you're popping zen. If you do not pop zen you will be fine unless you break one of the other rules. We run with two sentinels and him and I are the first two usually done with our individual bosses. Also, make sure that each role is matched up to the bosses accordingly.
  8. Force fade is useless in my opinion. If you need it that bad, your heals are doing something wrong or your neglecting to use a medpac, etc. Here's my spec: Watchman I may reallocate the two points in temperance to something else. Possibly focused leap or steadfast.
  9. I only use Doc. I've heard that Kira is amazing when she's given tier gear. Once I can give her some gear I plan on trying her out again.
  10. Blade Storm can only stun normal and weak mobs. Knowing this, you need to prioritize what mobs you kill first. The way I do it is this, (50 Watchman): 1) Weak mobs (approximately 2,000 health): - Force Leap - Opportune strike This usually outright kills the weak mob. 2) Standard mob (4 to 5,000 health): - Blade storm - Pommel Strike Sometimes pommel strike will kill the mob, if not I finish it off as I see fit. 3) Strong 4) Elite DPS the strong/elites as you normally would. On strong/elite mobs and in PvP, blade storm becomes a filler for me if I have enough focus or I'm trying to close distance and force leap is on cool down. This is my spec: Here
  11. You can certainly solo it. A lot of people are saying to just burn him down while T7 handles the clones. I took down the clones and was able to still kill the emperor on my first try of the quest. Whatever works for you. Oh, I do suggest starting to gear T7 while you're 48-50 that way you'll be less screwed.
  12. Excuse me? I'm sorry that I was able to do something on the first try that people had built up to be near impossible. If it's any consolation, I was barely alive (1-2%ish) when I dropped him. Geesh...
  13. I leveled all the way to 50 as a combat spec. There is no reason for the sand demon to be difficult if you're the correct level and understand how to play your class. If you're too low, do the bonus series quests. They will give you a level or two as well as gear that may be of help. Edit: Meant to quote above post with "QFT."
  14. This fight honestly isn't that hard. I did this at level 50 on the first try with a decently geared T7. Since you know that you can only use T7, it makes sense to start gearing him around level 48-50 with items above rating 80+. With that said, T7 still gets ravaged pretty early on in the fight. I didn't LoS using the pillars and fought the emperor in front of his throne area. AoE doesn't work on the clones so you need to actually strike them somehow (slash or strike will do). Also, make sure you interrupt the emperor at every chance you get. There's one key ability that needs to be interrupted when he's low on health (too lazy to figure out which one). Play your AC/spec right and you should be fine.
  15. If you plan on doing operations, etc. just pick up biochem and its respective crew skills. None of the other skills really compare.
