  1. A long time ago, even before Makeb came out the first toon I rolled was a Marauder, and oh boy did I learn quickly how to become a Maratard. After a couple flashpoints I learned about the trinity system, and how the tank is supposed to pull first, and how I as a dps should kill the weaker mobs first, and I did. After a couple months I decided to try tanking myself, and it was fun to know that you were "needed" back in the day. I enjoyed grouping and LOS'ing the mobs. Operations, and HardMode flashpoints is where a tank is needed, and some hard veteran flashpoints like Umbara for example. The easy veteran not so much. I qued up and joined a HM Mando raiders flashpoint. I't consisted of me (sin tank) op dps, mm sniper, and sorc healer. The sniper pulled the 2 dogs and mobs, as the other mobs from the elevator down the hall came out. I didn't ***** I just aoe taunt and did my thing. He did it again before the first boss, and I asked to stop, but he didn't reply, although he did stop up until we got right before the long hall with the 2 gold droids that go back and forth before the 2nd boss. I wasn't going slow btw, I was going quick, but waited at the same time for everyone to catch up so we could attack the mobs. I didn't wanna be that tank that would chain pull and not wait for anyone. I say this because as you know it can be somewhat annoying when some tanks go slow. Anyways, when he pulled the final time I just stealthed out, pressed U, traveled to my SH and then left the group. I personally believe that being a tank now, does not even come close to what is was like being a tank before Makeb rolled out. I don't feel "needed" anywhere close to the way it used to be. I will also go as far as saying that even in some SM operations you don't even need a tank to tank certain bosses, because some geared and skilled dps can tank ceratin bosses like Firebrand in EC ( I think that's its name). I know this because I tanked that boss on my sniper dps two times without even dropping below 50% hp. So whats the incentive of being a tank when you don't feel as needed as you used to? For example some healers absolutely hate when someone uses a kolto station in vet's, because it would make them useless right? So if you have dps that can tank SM and possibly even some HM operation bosses, as well as most Vet flashpoints and some HM flashpoints, we "tanks" feel useless. I'm sorry about the wall of text, the grammar, and my rant. I dont post much at all but ffs devs, do something about it. Give us "tanks" more of a reason to play, because we are becoming more and more useless:mad:.
  2. I qued up for EV GF and got a instant pop for match in progress. Before I could even enter I was removed. This has happened to me 3x today, so I said to hell with it and pm'd the person that kicked me as to why I was removed. I was told that they kicked me because its a guild run and they are waiting for they're dps guildie to join. That make's sense, but at the same time its messed up because I had a 15 min lockout everytime I was removed.
  3. It's good to see the community's response to this thread. The only reason I chose Xenogears as being my fav, is simply because I was very young when I played it and the emotional attachment was overwhelming for me. I'm sure many of you will relate with me as to the game's you have listed as well.
  4. I'll start off by saying Xenogears, which came out on PS1 back in 1998. My 2nd favorite would be Skyrim due to the modding community.
  5. I joined a ToS on my PT tank, and the other tank which is a jug said use sonic rebounder (aoe taunt) during UL boss. I said that only works using dps spec, since I was using ion gas cylinder. He said no, it works no matter what spec you are in. Was he right?
  6. No a d*ck is what I stated above. I'm not saying im an angel for what I did, but I was far from being a d*ck
  7. I very rarely ever post on the forums, but this I had to... On Harb, a level 57 Sorc asked on fleet how much it would cost to run a HM Foundry. I pondered on this for a second as to whether or not this person was actually serious. After about a minute I replied and said make me an offer. Sorc said 10k, I said no ty but gl. Sorc then replied back and said "well this is where you haggle". At that point I'm like alright well how about 500k. Sorc said she only has 560k, and I said well then it looks like you have enough. Sorc did not reply back for about a minute, so I said just give me 300k and I will happily do it for you. Sorc agreed and we met at the entrance where he/she paid me in advance. At this point I could of been a d*ck and left, but seriously?? 300k to run HM Foundry for the HK part. We got to the end of the run, and the sorc got the HK part and was very happy. I on the other hand felt somewhat guilty and sad, not only because of the money, but also because the sorc thought I was some uber very high dps sniper. My gear was a mix of 190's and 186's. Before we departed and went our seperate ways the sorc offered me an additional 50k tip, which I quickly declined. i said goodbye and if you requrie my services again feel free to contact me:(. We left and I went to my stronghold to check the GTN, but I just could not dismiss the fact as to what just happened. I pm'd the sorc and said I feel bad, and if you ever need advice I can show you on how to get much better gear then you have now. The sorc quickly replied and asked how? I replied back and said just pm me when you hit level 60. So my question to all of you reading this is would you have taken the money, or would you have done it for free?
  8. Better stock up on those 600k credit escrows.
  9. I think there are not alot of tank's because they go through so much sh*t, like dps pulling mobs in fp's or attacking elite/silver mobs while the tank watches the healer get aggro from trash mobs when the dps should be killing them before anything in most situations. Let a tank do his/her thing.....sounds simple but for me when I had a pt tank at level 45 I quit leveling because of so much idiots. I have played both sides but never a healer. Before I played a tank to level 45 honestly I was a noob i didnt give much thought of what I was doing or how pulling mobs a nd what not would affect other players in my group specifically the tank and healer, but after playing a tank and see what it was like on the other side I then realized how stressful it was to play as a tank. It just wasn't fun at all, but those rare occasions when I did have a great group that knew how to play they're class I loved it. Also what I have been noticing alot is that in hm level 50 fp's (yes I know we are still talking about level 55 hm fp's) a level 50 ish tank will que up and a dps with uber gear will just not give 2 sh*ts and pull mobs and take on the role as a tank. Sometimes the tank will quit sometimes the tank will just not say a word and finish the fp. I feel real bad for them cuz its just fcked up. In the end this will continue to happen and wont stop cuz of morons, I'm sorry if I sound blunt and rude but it's the truth.
  10. Just adding that a Marauder is able to stealth which is also used as his/her aggro drop ability, but you can only stealth for a few seconds. However this works perfectly in some situations such as avoiding mobs. It can also be used to interrupt a player's or npc's current ability. I usually use it when dealing with the 2 champs you have to kill on Oricon in order to complete the +2 heroic.
  11. Elaborate on how that is even possible, cuz from what I understand it's not.
