  1. I agree Thanks for the help guys, I'll slap on those armoring's right away. Can't wait to see how the SB couples with the 2.10 changes after this.
  2. It depends. If you are healing, then no. Your heals will never miss, so don't worry about that. Every other spec does. For pvp, 5 percent over your base accuracy will do, as that will counter act everyone's base defense chance. For both dps specs, get enough accuracy to reach 100% melee and 110% force accuracy.
  3. Hey guys and gals, have a quick question. I'm a deception sin that switches to madness for certain ops. Fully augmented 180 gear. I have some black market gear to start building my set bonus to deception and I wanted to know if I was wasting my time. Is it worth it to go for the set bonus in that low armoring? Should I wait till I get underworld pieces for the set bonus? Just trying to get geared for HM ops and hopefully NIM. Any advice would be great.
  4. There are some subtle ramifications as well. With more of our projected rotation being force attacks, exploitive strikes will be up more, increasing our melee damage through crits, especially if the surging charges themselves can proc exploitive strikes (now I don't know of the charges themselves do that, but would appreciate someone telling me if they do ) Also, on the pvp front, having more force attacks means we can weave in and out of range more. Food for thought
  5. Can anyone that has been on the pts server, how are the deception changes? Do the surging charge bonuses help with sustainability? Also, what does half charges mean for surging charge when recklessness is popped?
  6. I have a suggestion. Just make the armor type have an effect on base movement speed. I always thought it was weird that the armor didn't really affect movement speed in the classes. That heavy armor, unslowed mercs in heavy armor could match my speed as a lightning sorc. If we could out run opponents, it would make getting away from them later. It just makes more sense that heavy armor slows down people but protects better, that light armor makes it easy to move around but protects less, and that medium armor is somewhere in the middle.
  7. This is the new spec I decided to give a shot. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200ZfbfRzGbRrbzZfrzoM.3 Sometimes I put points into obfuscation instead of avoidance. I like it because its made for maximum opening burst. spike>recklessness>Discharge>Death Field and then I have options. Kite for shocks. LS>CD>maul. Electrocute then spam whatever is off cooldown. Whatever I need to kill them. I like it because its set to hit hard, immediately. Its crap for any strung out fight. I cant build voltage. Force management is nonexistent. But I cant build voltage for an opener. This is max opener build. Its fun, but I might switch back to full deception. this spec was just to try out ever since I heard of Wakajin.
  8. I was talking pvp. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but voltaic slash isn't all that great of a technique and death field is. Its not as sustained, but very bursty. And IMHO, deception rocks for PVE. I prefer it to madness for the fun factor in SM, especially for the DF fights. I just wish it was up to par with madness.
  9. Could you post a link with this spec on torhead or something. But if its what I think think it is, I use it all the time in pvp. I find that it has more burst then full deception because a recklessnessed death field crits harder then shock as an opener. Its not as sustainable as madness, but that's not how it should be played IMHO
  10. The nerve racking talent in the deception tree increases damage from all sources while targets affected by electrocute and spike. I get that this is a PVP talent, but for PVE raiding this talent could boost our utility. So I have two questions. The first is does "controlled by" mean while stunned? And if so, is their a way to make this PVE viable? Imagine 4 seconds of 6% increases damage from all sources. Especially at the precast opener.
  11. Hmm......too OP for us, huh. Ah well. Still excited for that NPC auto crit though
  12. I see your point on the surging charge procs and the pvp. I don't entirely agree with the pvp implications because of the icd, but I see your point. If the auto crit goes through though, wouldn't that change the equation a bit? With maul hitting harder, it might be worth it to delay a VS for the maul crits. I think surging charge needs a rework anyway, and I like the concept of that damage increase talent for raid utility. (TBH, I just want to maul more, lol)
  13. I have read the forum post on PVE only autocrit to maul and was wondering about a change to low slash. If we both lower the cost and set it so that it procs induction, it would fit in a pve rotation. Set its priority above VS, kind of like assassinate in the execution phase. And in the execution phase, above VS and below assassinate. Maybe set it to proc that 6 percent damage increase talent in the second tier from the top of the deception tree. Thoughts?
  14. Just a random though, but why not just reduce the cool down of Blackout? It seems to me that it is less then useless in PVP, while it will significantly improve force management in PVE. Its a simple fix that Bioware can implement without changing much. It wont solve all of our problems, but will help out Deception sustained dps.
