  1. Which is totally understandable unless the game is designed around everyone having an interrupt. Strong or Elite that can self heal can be almost unkillable for a bounty hunter because at that level the stun and knockbacks don't work.
  2. A heal specced Merc can heal just fine. To put that I know what I'm talking about I healed Foundry at lvl 33 on my Bodyguard. The bosses were 6 levels higher than me and I couldn't use any of the drops but I did it without any real problem. Where the Healing for now really goes out the bottom is if everyone is taking damage. Then it falls through. Though if that is the case more than likely its a group issue. Or you fighting the Middle boss in Foundry. That is healing intensive. Though as I said a Merc can do it fine. Leveling as Bodyguard though is interesting to say the least. You can put out the DPS ok enough but, things love you a lot if you don't watch it. I can't wait to get Blizz.
  3. I think the arguments in here break down to a few ways of thinking about this: 1. Alacracity speeds up are heals while sacrificing stats that make are healing more powerful. With are regen mechanic if we get into big damage we are going to have more heat because we are casting more spells and since the more heat we have the slower it dissipates we are going to mess ourselves over in the long run. 2. Alacracity speeds up my heals but this means I have more net down time to dissipate heat. 3. Honestly don't see heat management being much of a problem but, I like my heals to be faster so its easier to react. I can see the point of 1. In long healing endurance challenge bosses that may be an issue much like haste always is for healer in every other game. This is not anything SWTOR specific. The twist in SWTOR is we don't have a Regen stat so, this may become more of an issue. Someone who believes in this philosophy will gear for things that make a few heals bigger. I can see the other points as well. In the current tier of content with a proper group you rarely ever run into the worst case scenario 1 is talking about. The average case at the time isn't really favoring either style of stat balancing from reports. Time will tell how Bioware will handle these fix power mechanics.
  4. I find Kolto Missile a little akward to use but, the shield it give with Supercharge is very handy especially when soloing.
  5. Mako starts becoming weak when you have to start moving from main damage dealer to you healing role you setup for. She just can't hold Aggro and mitigate damage enough when you get to Tattoonia (sp?)
  6. I enjoy my daily space missions. You just buy the first Upgrades that are really cheap and all the missions up to 26, were I'm at, are simply. I like that they are on rails. My biggest complaint is I can't decouple ship steering from Shooting.
  7. The best use I have for Missile Blast is a way to keep melee off you. I commonly run into 2 range 1 melee scenario. If the melee isn't Strong you can use Missile Blast to knock them back for enough to do something else before they come back. Thats the best use I've seen for it.
  8. I'm leveling bodyguard because I like to do Flashpoints. It be nice if we got are tanking companion earlier for the Bodyguard folks but I digress. I was doing Tatoonie and at the end of the story. I kept getting the sand people to just a slither of health my stun and knockbacks were on CD they healed back higher than what I could take down before another heal. Just frustrating. If a game is going to have casters NPCs that you have to take care of part of a specific story line for your class I would expect to have the tools to do so. Plus Bosses are immune to everything but interrupts as a general rule.
  9. Just another in a long list of little things that shouldn't have made it out of beta if not Alpha testing.
  10. I haven't read this whole thread but I'm going to weigh in on threat visualization. First off Threat Meters are handy even as a tank. I use Threat Plates in WoW so I can see when the DPS isn't focussing the right add and I have to do some switching. When I'm healing it lets me know when the stray add is coming my way and I need to get to the tank. That being said I feel I shouldn't need them even in WoW. Now we are in TOR. Everyone has CC. As a Healer here especially at low level and with my companion I would like to know who's start to eye me up so I can electro dart them. I don't want a meter. Meters aren't really immersive. There are different ways in real life that we gauge someone doesn't like us. What I would like is the option to have something like Auras. Just a visual cue to say that ,"Yes you have there attention." I always found it lazyish that MMO didn't give you those indications. Though I'm also the one who thinks that you should be able to play a game with the UI off or just the Mini-map. Everything should have a visual or audio cue to it. You health getting low? You look a little more ragged. Your Heat getting to High? Your weapons starts to steam, which you can hear the hiss. Then it starts to glow up till its red hot. Good Look and Feel choices should make a lot of this moot. That is where I stand on this. Also for goodness sake steal the UI customization features from Rift.
  11. Personally not a fan of Enrage timers. I do like when a boss will heal themselves after a while meaning that if you say roll into a flashpoint with 1 tank 1 dps and 2 straight healers your just wasting your time. Enrage timers are a crutch used when you can't obtain an ending naturally. I'm actually a proponent of the opposite and have a boss hit like a truck towards the beginning because that makes sense. As the fight goes on we're all worn down. Maybe have the boss joined by adds. How about having the environment itself be a factor in the fight. Instead of the boss suddenly becoming super, which really makes no sense, have the platform your on start to degrade from the figthing. Regardless, the first max level Flashpoint should be doable in Max Lvl - 2 gear. The next one should require lvl 50 Gear plus a few Flashpoint pieces.
  12. My problem with this Flashpoint is that it only gives Loot from 1 boss. Making it just a time sink. I have yet to hear anyone in my guild getting loot from anyone other then the last boss. That being said. I beat this with only 3 people before the patch. We died 4 times. I was 24 and everyone was close to me.
  13. Anyone who says to "gather slice points" have never done that before. It is ridiculously hard to find slicing nodes unless your someplace that it Makes the absolute least amount of sense for there to be vaults, I've found more in the forest then in any building. The time investment you have to make you be better off grinding mobs for loot. I took slicing because I wanted a moderate source of income that I knew would never net me the big bucks other crafters will get end game if this game is designed right. I'm fine with that. The trade off is that I don't have to find mats.
  14. I played a Gunslinger in the weekend beta's and got to level 15. It probably changes later but at that point GS had a lot of setup time. Think about all you non-instant BH abilities. Now think of those with the extra step of getting into some type of cover. I will grant that mercenary does feel like Gunslinger without cover but, it feels like a less restricted more mobile version to me.
