  1. During travel, on a lot of places companions can chime in and give some info on the terrain. Sadly, no one barely ever hears this chit-chat, since they move around on their speeders (and so am I, so it's not like that's bad) and for some reason this supresses the teammate chat. Considering teammates are saved going in a vehicle (to respawn after unmounting) wouldn't it be better if the chat was still heard, even in a speeder. Waste of perfectly good dialogue otherwise, and they can't really be moved at this point (not really should)...
  2. Atleast they have another venue to complain than "evade sucks and is overpowered"
  3. Malgus; I agree. The old method was WAY better and unique. The current way is lame. Way to ruin one of the best FP bosses. HK; This is because you played SM. On HM the turrets and stealth are in. So no dumbing down, just SM/HM differences.
  4. Though it's seriously easier just to have 2 chars, one LS, one DS.
  5. I've not seen those listed on the PTS changelist. And the expected "just learn!" popped up so soon too. I've killed plenty of gunships. I know how to do so. But they're still wholesomely out of place in here, and ruining the fun most have dogfighting. And you didn't account how this scouting thing would help me get rid of friendly gunships either...
  6. Blah, was about to mention potential lag, and then I see above user already mentioned that. It is indeed often questionable if misses are due to lack of proper aim, evasion or lag. Or a combo. I've seen people blame it on evasion. Is it? I've seen people blame it on lag? Is it? This would be able to tell. It might be evade less time than most people think... we all know the engine this game uses, right?
  7. Time to bring this back up again, seeing HEAVY usage of all exploits listed by gunship users. And honestly, it really ruins GSF to the point I can't even bother logging, it's just no fun anymore. And to the people saying "gunships are easy" try it with 2 scouts/fighters picking you off due to constant de-buff. Or how to counter FRIENDLY gunships?
  8. That's kinda the point, eh? Only for 1 of the 3 trees. Would more suit a tree skill then rather than a global 51 ability. And again, it's really all about the healing buff, not the teleport that makes it "perfectly acceptable" for a tank. And while other 51's may not have use in all fights, they have use OVERALL. Not so for DPS Phase Walk. Just compare how much you see the other abilities vs. it. For fun, I dropped Phase Walk on a 16p TC HM. Indeed, healers flocked to it. Sadly for them, I'm a Balance Shadow and that fire doesn't do what they wished to. Can they even tell? Does healing give a buff icon? Need to check if I ever get a Shadow Tank that actually places it (a rare opportunity, even if shadow tanks are often found nowadays in ops or fps). And then when the off-tank got killed twice, and everyone wiped, I just used cloak, and was sole survivor, so no repair penalty. I understand the difference between a boost that can get you *anywhere* faster compared to a boost that gets you to a single pre-determined place faster. Usually backwards, since you need to be at the position to cast. And I rarely need to go back anywhere. People talk about it being useful for say, SoA, or the lightning adds in S&V's final boss, or anywhere... and I can't help but think Force Speed does all of them better.
  9. Definitely not the bonus. I know since I got them on my chars, and to date haven't finished the bonus since I've done it with a friend, and it was always bugged only one of us could use the final 2 datacubes, the other(s) got an error. Horrible idiotic bug. Pretty sure still unfixed too...
  10. Am I the only one with 0% crystals in their collection? I just use a cyan one, from the base game. And it look better than all those weird CM colors IMO. Guess, based from this thread, that makes me unique...
  11. I'm a shadow DPS yes. So it's fine if the 51 ability is only fine for one spec? I know Shadow DPS are actively ignored and tried to all be shoe-horned into tanks, but I wouldn't expect such a view from a fellow Shadow. The issue isn't threat, which the previous poster makes plenty clear. It's placement. A tank can't just waltz over to the healers, cast, then return. The healers usually get murdered by doing so, what with most bosses having cone AoE's and heavy frontal assaults. Or in DF requiring to be near each other not to get massive damage. Etc, etc. Now try to go over to the healers and apply Phase Walk. I'm sure they appreciate the big giant AoE circle of isotope assault on them... And yet, here we are. And we're even disucssing just the healing buff that tanks get. Where's the rest of the functionality? The only good thing we see to the ability is for one tree. Kind of odd for a 51, isn't it? And a highly situational one at that too. Where's that for roll, dual strike, shoulder cannon etc?
  12. The only downside of Alderaan is the slow taxi system. That's all. Otherwise I'm loving it. Worst planets IMO (and my friend disagrees, so we generally only Character quest these 2) are Tatooine and Hoth. All other planets look interesting, but these 2 are made to be one ball of ice or sand. And look uninteresting as a result.
  13. Anything to get us to beatifully crafted planets rather than stick on the ugly, boring and lame fleet are a good idea in my book. Now if only they found a way to make fleetwaiting completely avoidable like certain consoles, delivery boxes on your ship and galaxy-wide chat so I wont have to fleethog for operations... and I'll never miss that hunk of junk that makes the endgame the worst for me... and seriously consider stopping since waiting on the fleet for hours for ops sometimes isn't my idea of fun. What is that priority transport to the fleet (and even a seperate one for the ops ship!) otherwise for.
  14. Yeah, the healing's good. So I can't see why it can't just be turned into an aura, and instead of skill point for tank, basing it off shadow/force or combat stance. It's going to be useful for everyone, for a change. Most the pro-people only care for the healing anyway... until this thread.
  15. Because, with the universal hate against it on our own forums, I was expecting something similar here, and hoping BW might notice it here more then there. I can't say I expected this almost unaninimous pro-Phase Walk mentality. Wonder how many people actually play Shadows of the posters though. Why I say it's not it's function, because it morphs the phase walk from a teleporter to a healing aura. Yes, it transforms it from something horrid to something useful, but... why isn't it that useful in the first place then. And why only for tanks? What's going on. If you get complains not enough Shadows use it, probably that is since many shadows are of the same opinion Phase Walk is a waste of an ability. And that for 51, when other classes get very good stuff to add to their rotation. The examples given? Force speed. Really no need for anything more. And that doesn't cost preperation, force or a cast time to set-up. And has much more functionality as it allows you to go to far more than 1 destination where you need to go fast. It gimps shadows as in all other classes get additional damage output of some kind with 51 abilities, and we get... what? A second more clunky speed/cloak? That just happens to be transferrable to a team-boost only if tank? I wouldn't mind if it didn't boost us but the whole team (making us Shadow DPS more desired than we currently are), but in it's current function it really is just the same as 2 abilities we already have, which both perform better at the task it's supposed to fill.
