  1. I've replayed the Esseles multiple times, just to kick that one Sith at the end in the nuts... It's a thing of beauty...
  2. Think of it as a type of active sonar using the force that doesn't shut off, kind of like how bats "see" in the dark. Miraluka don't have eyes at all (which is why they wear the blindfolds) so they have adapted their other senses to compensate. Just because a species is blind doesn't necessarily mean that they are at a disadvantage...in many cases sight is purely optional...for a real world example, there are hundreds of species of deep sea fish that can't see at all, but they are fully capable of surviving and thriving in an environment that would kill any normal fish placed into it. The Miraluka are much the same. They are not limited by their blindness, as they never possessed conventional sight in the first place. They simply developed different senses. If you want to truly experience what it is like, try this experiment. Find a quiet room in your house and turn off all the lights, then go sit in the middle of the room and close your eyes...if you want a real challenge, then add a blindfold. After you've done that, try really listening to the environment around you, and see just how many things you can identify by the sounds they make, without your sight to aid you. While it may become disconcerting at first, after a while your body will adjust, and you will find yourself with a greater awareness of your surroundings, despite being blind. That should give you an idea what it is like to be a Miraluka.
  3. Miraluka don't physically possess eyes, so can't perceive the galaxy as humans do. If you'd like to RP as a Miraluka, and if you have access to it, I would suggest playing Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. The Miraluka are explored in depth in that game through the character Visas Marr, and you can actually gain the ability of Force Sight and see how it works in game. Or, you can simply watch the Youtube video of it :
  4. This is actually explored and addressed in the Bounty Hunter story line. A certain Heroic level quest on Hutta has you dealing with the environmental consequences of Hutt Industry causing pollution on the planet. Essentially the Hutts have a huge production industry backing them and have ruthlessly exploited every opportunity that has ever become available to them. They would be directly comparable to the powerful Oil Barons that dominated North American industry in late 1800s during the Industrial Revolution and later on. They are basically an extreme interpretation of what our society would have become had the practices of those individuals and organizations been left to grow unchecked and unregulated by the various governmental bodies over the past century.
  5. The different classes of Jedi (and Sith) were originally developed for the Star Wars D20 Pen and Paper RPG released back in 2000 by WoTC. Bioware adapted the classes for their own use when they released Kotor in 2003 and have pretty much stuck with them in one form or the other over the years.
  6. To follow this up, the Tomb of Naga Sadow has already been well established in the Bioware continuity as existing on Korriban, this goes all the way back to the first Kotor game where you actually do a series of quests in said tomb. Behold the FAQ for it. So if anything, Bioware did do the research...they are remaining consistent with their own lore.
  7. Corso and I get along great...though his idea of pranking me on occasion by dropping the nearest gold boss on my head with his harpoon has had me pondering spacing him at times. Other then that, he's a solid companion, I much prefer him over the walking carpet...
  8. Love the look of it, I'm planning on keeping it as one of my adventuring outfits even in late game.
  9. Scoundrels can easily match Gunslingers in PvE damage. The difference is how close you are to the enemy...we're not tied to Cover the way the Slingers are. I find the Scoundrel much better suited to PvE...good survivablity and very adaptable on the fly. While we can heal, anyone who calls us healbots tends to get a Dirty Kick where it counts...
  10. Once you've kicked your first Sith in the crotch, there is no going back... Fair warning, the class has a steep learning curve. It's fun to play, but don't expect to go in guns blazing...Scoundrels have a better survival rate then most Gunslingers in heavy combat situations thanks to their access to healing abilities...which will make you quite popular in groups. If you are wanting to do the whole scattergun to the back thing, then the Scrapper tree will be the route you take. Don't expect to go toe to toe with melee classes right out of the gate though...the Scoundrel is most definitely a hit and run class. Stealth is your friend.

I reached him as a 14 Scoundrel and mowed through his support fairly easily...he however stopped me cold. I've since beaten him though. The trick is making sure you utilize the cover in the room *especially* if you are a Gunslinger...if you are having trouble understanding how it works in game like I did at first, I suggest reading the handy guide at the top of this forum, I found it to be immensely helpful. Make sure you pace yourself and don't just spam attacks on him, you'll drain your energy real fast that way and be a sitting duck. Use flash grenade to stun him at range and dirty kick to stun him in close to buy you some necessary breathing room to get away from him. If he does close and you are a scoundrel, remember your scatter gun...also blaster whip does some nice damage for either spec. Don't forget to use your buffs like Lucky Shot as well...that 5% crit can make a big difference. Use a skill stim and stock up on medkits if you don't have underworld medicine...actually, take a medkit even if you do have it. Make sure Corso is in guard mode....and I find shutting off his minion fishing line (the harpoon ability) so he doesn't pull the boss on top of you to be quite helpful. Also don't be afraid to ask for help from other players...remember that when you are teamed, other classes can enter your story mode without penalty...only other smugglers are restricted. Fabz goes down pretty quick when you've got a couple of people hacking/blasting him and the loss of XP is negligible. Hope that helps.
