  1. The F2P move might actually make it easier to spend the time/money on companion content but Bioware first has to prove they can make the transition cleanly and that they can live up to their current promises, like releasing new content every six weeks. If they pull all that off, it seems reasonable to assume there will be a bigger playerbase and a stronger revenue stream. Granted, that's a pretty big "if". Ditto. I used Qyzen Fess for ages with my Consular in spite of hating that companion, but I rolled a healer and you only get another tank option at around 40. I would have loved to rotate them out more but it wasn't really viable.
  2. Not me, for one. I probably wouldn't have bought the game. This just smacks of all the moments in the prequels that shamelessly referenced the original trilogy for no reason other than misguided fan service. I'm not saying you can't set a game at some point during the movie timelines - many good games have done this - but it shouldn't just be because you need it in order to make the story compelling.
  3. That guy is being quoted left, right and center in articles on TOR and the F2P move. Wouldn't hold it against this article in particular.
  4. Switching to a F2P model has saved floundering MMOs before. If anything, it can mean an influx of players and cash. The trick would be making the transition gracefully, setting up an alternate revenue stream that doesn't consist of pay-to-win or obvious nickel-and-dimeing headaches. Wait, they pulled that off in 12 hours? Holy crap. But yeah, I remember reading that they didn't say they wouldn't make major expansions but rather that they wouldn't have stand-alone expansions like with GW1. This is in addition to regular, free content updates.
  5. They knew there was a "trade dispute" with the Trade Federation and sent Jedi to investigate/mediate. Beyond that, not so much.
  6. Got in on the first wave on December 13th and my highest leveled character, an IA, is 44. Next highest is a level 21 Trooper.
  7. It's not an extension of you for difficult content - most heroics, flashpoints, etc. Real players trump companions. If companions were always active and usable even in a full group, that argument would hold more weight.
  8. Different fixes work for different people. If you haven't tried going back once you've completed Nar Shaddaa's chapter 2 quests - the class quests, not the bonus series stuff - give that a shot.
  9. Try the resetting and traveling from/to Nar Shaddaa in case those work for you. Personally, I wasn't able to get the quest to trigger until I'd completed the first quests in chapter 2 that take place on Nar Shaddaa. After that was done, the quest triggered properly when I came back to the planet.
