  1. Collector's Edition - 7 day early start player - my subscription end in august (3x 6months) I haven't played since the anouncement of the cap raise to level 55. I only will recommend this game to MMORPG newbies. SW:TOR has above average solo play capabilities with the option to do stuff with people. Major flaw is that even after one year I still don't identify myself with any of my characters, because of the class story lines there is nothing what makes my character in any way special or different in any way from other characters of the same class.
  2. There is no difference between green, orange and purple moddable items. The color may indicate what kind of mods it came with originally. I don't know if you need to unlock artifact items to equip purple moddable items when you are on a f2p account though.
  3. A "weak to strong" order is fine in general. But it always depends on group and encounter composition. My expectation as a healer is, that the "most annoying" mobs are dealt first with. Like healers, guardians, stunnerm buffer, and mobs with large aoe's. Either use crowd control abilities on them (taunt, stun mezmerize), or kill them first. In my opinion Kaon under Siege and Lost Island have several good examples why "weak to strong" isn't always the best idea.
  4. Actually, I have no idea what I will do. To be honest, the price tag isn't what I take into consideration, the expansion costs far less than a pizza delivered to my home anyway. So I guess I will wait until May and decide then if I want to buy it or quit sw:tor, once it is released. (why May? F2P in Autumn 2012 was released in November, so Spring is May).
  5. I usually have no problem with people skipping bosses in any hardmode flashpoint. The main reason for it is a) my gear is better than anything that drops b) the gear looks as crappy as columi or rakata To be honest, I hate skipping any boss in a storymode flashpoint, because they at least drop more unique looking gear, that allows me, to have my character look different than any other level character of my class.
  6. You want to look for an Armormech.
  7. I don't understand the issue here. My main is a commando healer and I usually queue as Healer/DPS. The only exception is, when I queue for Lost Island Hardmode, where I choose healer only. For all other flashpoints, especially the story mode ones my dps is more than adequate. Even as designated healer I usually have enough time to deal some considerable damage during the flashpoints anyway. But it is good style to stick primarily to the assigned role.
  8. When you speak about the level 20 or level 40 PvP armor sets, the term "PvP armor" is irritating. These are actually PvE armor sets you get by paying PvP commendations. They are technically equal to modifiable armor sets gained from PvE game play. If your PvP armor set (with Expertise) is a viable option for PvE is for you to decide. For me it was perfectly okay to do hardmode flashpoints and operations in battlemaster pvp gear. Sure, Rakata gear is the better choice, but not at necessity.
  9. The expertise is on the armor, mod and enhancement modules of the battlemaster and war-hero armor pieces. You should keep in mind, that the set bonus of the battlemaster armor is on the armor shells, so that one will not be transferred to the armor of your choice. And if you rip modules from the battemaster armors make sure to keep the armor shell, since you need that one to pay for the war-hero upgrade. And yes, I agree, this is a very expensive hobby, but this is the only way to go when you want look good in warzones
  10. Going from P2P to the F2P model is no option for me. If I change the modality it will be from P2P to unsubscribed. If I still want to experience the class story lines, I still can do that on a distinct F2P account, but I definitely will not downgrade my Preorder Collectors Edition Account.
  11. I tried that, and the armor slots compare to sensor unit, core, motor and part, those are not compatible with head, chest, hands, legs or feet armor.
  12. Just get enough warzone commendations to buy the warhero piece you want. Sure, this isn't a fast process, and takes some time (and a lots of money, for mod extractions). But it is worth it. If you only want to switch one piece now, you retain the set bonus with 4 set pieces. The Set boni of battle master and corresponding war-hero armor pieces are the same, btw. So you retain your full set bonus with two battlemaster and two war-hero and a recruit armor piece for example. At the moment pvp armors make valid armor choices for level 50 pve content, bu that may change in the future. In my opinion a full battlemaster set is a fine armor set for Tier 1 Hardmode Flashpoints and Tier 1 Storymode Operations.
  13. I think what you want to know is the following: For Battlemaster armor pieces the set bonus is on the shell. For Warhero armor pieces the set bonus is on the armor mod. Armor mods for both Battlemaster and Warhero armor pieces are tied to the slot for the armor piece. If you extract an armor mod from a chest piece, you only will be able to place it in chest armor shell (orange moddable armor).
  14. This is a sound idea. Would solve the OPs issue, and the teams issue when a drop out returns, and wastes queue time for a valid replacement.
  15. As far as I understood it, you don't. These [Prototypes] variants come from defeated enemies.
