  1. Forged By Fire is a Progression oriented Operations guild looking for mature players with elitest goals for progression. If your topping your dps meters but feel the rest of your team is holding you back then you are the type of player we are looking for. If you want NiM progression and are not afraid of tense discussions about how the encounter is going then you are the type of player we are looking for. We are currently looking for pro DPSers who think 2800+ is sub standard. Ideally a Sniper but other classes will be considered. We also would like to consider a tank who knows what they are doing and has experience tanking. Assassins need not apply here. That being said we do have an active team and are running ops 3 nights a week Mon/Tues/Thurs 7:30-11EST. If you have a good team this is more than enough to not only clear all content but get server firsts. We are honestly looking to replace folks who are under-performing so we can get back to the level of progression we have become accustomed to. Please send an In Game mail or tell to Wide, Gïsh'tahner, or Angrysmokertwo.
  2. I am just coming here to add my vote of NO! HECK NO! because the topic has been beaten to death and I just want my opinion to be calculated. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
  3. Personally I would prefer BW to add such functionality into this game in the stock UI. Today's patch with the different CD/GCD visuals is a nice example of what i mean. A DPS Meter is not really needed, but some form of threat information even in its most basic form such as a red glow as you risked pulling hate or an audible noise, anything. I am not sure however if I would personally enjoy too many numbers in my game. I played wow and raided hardmodes and got burned out on the constant number crunching. I always said that game became nothing but numbers after awhile. I'm not sure I want that back.
  4. Its just become a reality that most if not all graphics cards of today designed for gaming are HUGE and cannot be done in a "low profile" case. I honestly don't know what to tell you as I would not dream of trying to game on a low profile graphics card. Good luck and hopefully someone comes along who knows better then me in this subject.
  5. Here is a great guide that I use everytime I go looking for a graphics card. Find whatever the best card for the money is available to you. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html
  6. I would start out by migrating to a Mid Tower case with a proper Power Supply if your intention is to get into a performance graphics card. These can range from 20$ to several hundred.
  7. Turn off the Overclock and be surprised by higher performance. I see so many 4.5-5Ghz Overclocks that are not as stable as people realy think they are. My i5@3.8Ghz and GTX460 run this game with every option maxed out and not even so much as a hickup even in fleet/ops/wz. My wife with exact same rig as mine can only get 3.3Ghz stable wich was a bit sad TBH. My buddy with a i7 Sandy was at 4.8 until i showed him Prime95 wich BSOD his system in 3 seconds flat. He is now running 4.2 and has gotten 15-20% improvements in benchmarks.
  8. Again my server has at least a few an hour "Tank LF any HMs". However I am glad you mentioned the tank situation. The real problem with grouping in any game is that nowone ever wants to tank. When I first went to make a group in this game and realized it was 1 tank 2 dps 1 healer, I thought I was going to die laughing. Cmon Bioware a proper group is 1 tank 4-5 DPS and 1 healer.... that is a more reasonable assesment of the ratio of DPS-Tank-Healer in a games population.
  9. Longest it took me to find a group was 30 minutes in the middle of the night. Typically it takes me 5-10 minutes to find a group. My server must be amazing.
  10. Logged on and did my dailies wich took me like 2 hours. Went and got some food and took a shower. Logged back on and did 3 hm flashpoints in like 1.5 hours 2 of wich was full pugs. Went and played with my kids Went to work
  11. I would just like to add that my i5@4Ghz w/8gigs ram and GTX 460 1g is running no less then 40fps in fleet and warzones and 8 man ops... I'm not sure if these are the worst areas or not but this is what i get. I would like to also add though that anyone overclocking thier computer might look into putting some time with Prime95 running to test thier system stability. Just because you have 5-6Ghz cpu clocks does not mean your getting that level of performance. Also just because your getting 3.2Ghz on your 2.5Ghz cpu does not mean you improved performance. Overclock->Test->Benchmark->Adjust OC. Do not just push for max Ghz... that is fail every time.
  12. Please no. Please do not ruin a perfectly good game with a bad idea.
  13. My friend has 2.8Ghz Core2Duo w/4gigs of ram and GF 210. Plays fine on max gfx....
  14. The evidence is in the WoW-forums and community over the past years of them putting the LFG tool into the game. In the begining there was no buff for joining an LFG group. Then people complained on the forums that because thier was no communication in LFG groups it was not fair compaired to guild organized groups. So a buff based on how many of the members of your group were "random" was implimented in order to curb this percieved inequality. The buff resulted in DPS/Healing gains from 50-75% completely trivializing the content. Yes I know the buff read 5% per "random" player but I can assure you the result when a skilled player was behind that buff was much more noticable. Also note in WoW that when the LFR was implimented the raid bosses were nerfed so badly that they all became basic tank and spanks. Morchok (ignore the red crystal), Yor'saj (who cares what slime you kill), Gen. Zon(point the ball at the wall and ignore it), Ultraxion (no need to leave the twilight realm to survive Hour).
