  1. ''with an understanding about maths'' you cant say that it is impossible untill you have verified(calculated) it. which i assume you didnt 'cause you wouldnt have to have him parsing again if you did and you wouldnt get into these kind of arguments with people like me if you did(and showed it). and it depends on the scaling of the ability with bonus damage. but one way or another it does make it less likely. and even though bugs do happen. i havent really seen (invisible)bugs that basicly increased damage. which is why im still really hesitant to call it a fake. and will keep calling it an incredible streak of luck(even though it keeps getting less likely) untill someone has some undeniable evidence of it being a bug. (either through calculating it, can be found on mmo-mechanics on how to do it. or bioware being like ''hey, we tried to fix something but we made it worse'') the 2x power proc relic was a bug same as the energy regen for lethality from internal relic crit.(at 50) but that atleast showed up in the log. maybe the bug isnt fixed and it just doesnt show up in the log anymore. ^^ wouldnt surprise me with swtor coding >.> i think he knows that isnt allowed. but it is a possibility.
  2. im talking about luck on crit damage. having the right **** proccing at the right time while the ability does max damage can explain it. and him only doing max 7.3k yesterday could just be bad luck. do you use power proc relic btw ? cant find anything pink in your log that lasts for 6s. and cant you make the parses in english? makes it much easier. 16:53:23.517 Tman's Gnadenloser Hieb hits Operationen-Trainingsdummy for 5460 Energie damage, causing 5460 threat. if that'd crit it wouldve done 5460*1.68= 9.2k (assuming you have 68% surge) this was with adrenal and power clicky relic. (i presume that because of Angriffskraftschub. lasing 30s) him reaching 8.6 with only power proc seems quite feasable then. beside's that both on power surge. 16:05:49.671 Lordgorzul's Merciless Slash hits Operations Training Dummy for 4415 energy damage, causing 4415 threat. but riylo has a power boost aswell (power clicky relic) 10:21:21.211 Riylo's Merciless Slash hits Operations Training Dummy for 4031 energy damage, causing 4031 threat. 400 damage difference on a normal hit. seems like lord just got quite some more power then this guy and this guy already nearly did an 8k crit. which is why i'll say it again; him reaching over 8k on luck is quite possible. he only did about 3 or so 8k+ crits in the beginning? which can be explained by the 15% dmg buff from mara's. then 2 barely 8k+ abit further in (on power surge) rest were 7-8k. doesnt matter if he has less power then you. luck on parses can make all the difference.
  3. hmmm. lordgorzul http://www.torparse.com/a/260865/time/1370005327/1370005636/0/Overview does not seem far off from riylo's http://www.torparse.com/a/258832/time/1369934458/1369934849/0/Overview if i compare max hits it can easily be explained by lordgorzul having better gear(more power). and riylo isnt using a power adrenal either (he's using critical) and he has one proc(power surge) relic aswell. (compare logs during non-power surge/adrenal moments and check master strike hits lord's does more) now if i compare tmans log to riylo's (germans very rusty) i can see riylo's merciless slash(Gnadenloser Hieb) max hit is already doing more then tmans. even though riylo isnt using a power adrenal. T has more misses and less crit. now either riylo is screwing up his rotation(he does 1 more attack) or he has less power. or both. (but i do think that he has less base power and no adrenal). and even though he has less power and no power adrenal. his max hit on merciless slash is more then T's. which really makes me think that lordgorzul's parse was a valid one. possibly extremely lucky, but valid.
  4. yeah, EA's moneygrabbing starts to show. and about the double relic, i didnt use it for the exact same reason. (idk about the others tho.) but the reason why i came in so high was quite some luck.(but for whom isnt it right ;P ?) i'm still missing quite some pieces for bis. dont worry, engineering/saboteur snipers/slingers are (ab)using the roll on the dummy (it leaves a trail of explosives and they can just roll against the wall so all the explosives hit the dummy) and you cant use that effectively in a raid enviroment. if you leave those out you'd see (if you check harbinger/PVE forum boards) that the merc and mara actually did more then snipers (the 2 3k+ snipers(non-engineering) used double relics while the merc and the mara(that hit 3k+) didnt use double proc relic ;D) agreed, that's also what i've said a couple of posts back. but i guess people just have an different opinion about that. however what i was basicly argueing the last 2 posts or so is that the 1 more surge over accuracy enhancement has a bigger positive impact to the raid hen a negative. that switch basicly boosted my dps with around 25. if i'd grab a better parse it would (at the very least) be twice as much. now if you'd have 4 DPS(the right classes ofc) changing that around you're basicly seeing an 100-200DPS gain. (which might be the difference in downing a boss or hitting enrage) and whilst yes you have a small amount of miss, you know that so you can work around it. and what i basicly pointed out is that the chances of missing something on parts where missing something might cause a wipe is incredibly small.
  5. oh i agree your point is sound if the stars align. what i am argueing about is that you're basicly stating situations where you intentionally let the starts align. i know i will have a small chance to miss, thus i will keep the possibility of me missing into consideration in whatever important stuff i'm doing. if i remember correctly at 50 he had a 8s cast (idk about 55hm because he dies so fast that i havent had the time to check it.) and you can see him spawning well before he starts casting. and i'm not the only one going for him. but lets say, half the raid is dead (all the dps except me) we have 2 tanks whom both are on low health. and we have a healer whom desperatly try's to heal everyone up. we also have that one tank that isnt tanking the boss suffering from a brain hemmorhage so he cant compose the thought of ''hey i might need to help with that add casting the dot'' and then, all my ability's are missing ! lets say. series of shots>followthrough>snipe. thats 5.1s i think we can safely say that with our tank suffering from a brain hemmorhage we cant kill him fast enough anymore. but that are 6 misses in a row. now i skipped my statistics classes but thats what ? 0.67% chance to miss times 6. 0.67^6= 0.09% chance of happening. and what are the chances that that happens at that exact moment ? and for some reason i cant shake the thought that long before we reached this point something else happened that ****ed it all up. beside if this happened and we still get that add down, i think that little bit of more dps might actually make a difference in beating the enrage. and there should be no **** ups in nim tbh. and about IX. even though i could do this all day since im enjoying the sun ill keep it short as to not bore the **** out of anyone reading this. i have never seen it happen in our raids that they really needed the time untill the very last second to heal everyone up. and i know i will have a chance to miss. so instead of starting at the last second i'd start 1.5s before that. (if that 1.5s really matters i'd say you've screwed up to much already). the chances of missing 2 abilities in a row at that exact time are slim as hell aswell. now thats what ? 3s on a 5 min fight or so ? so out of 100 other 3s bits you miss two abilities at that exact moment ? now here i'm just guessing but. 0.67^2=0.44^100=1.64*10^-35 ? never said that your star aligning isnt sound. it is, but even though it is sound its also quite ludacris.
  6. i have thought about that. me having an unlucky string. either the best damaging abilities missing or being unlucky with just hits in general (i did calculate it this way: lets say i miss 3 times more abilities then i actually should) i would end up doing about as much damage done overall as when i would if i was accuracy capped.(and didnt have one surge enhancement more) and the parse i used to calculate all this was actually one of the worse parses i had concerning crit and thus crit damage(i intentionally took that one). crit damage was over 5% less then the normal damage. while if i take another parse. the crit damage is about 15% more then the normal damage. (both parses are over 6 min long and i didnt cut anything out. neither the starting nor ending of combat) yes i have more of a chance of being (un)lucky but even if i am consistantly unlucky in a fight it would end up being about the same as when i would've been accuracy capped. which is why i choose to swap an acc enhancement for surge. but i suppose that in the end it boils down to preference. and in your way of saying it you could also put it this way; having 4 dps that are generally doing more damage even though they arent accuracy capped can also make the difference in downing a boss.
  7. so you basicly want to ban all the mms, lethality and hybrid snipers. hybrid powertechs, lightning sorcs. most likely arsenal mercs and possibly guardians + some other AC/specs. that have read up on stuff ? it might come as a shock to some people, but you dont want to go for 100% accuracy.(for some AC's) here's why. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=631161 TL;DR: basicly, specs with high crit(or abilities that auto crit) might end up getting an overall higher damage dealt by converting an enhancement from accuracy to surge and dipping just below 100%/110% accuracy. i calculated it (to be sure)for my own sniper from parses that i did. im better off going for 1 more surge then acc enhancement as mms. making me end up having 99.33/109.33% accuracy and around 70.80% surge. my normal damage was slightly higher then my crit damage. the reason where i base on that lethality and hybrid snipers, hybrid pt's. and lightning sorcs(and their republic counterparts) need it aswell is because of comparible damage dealt charts on torparse. high crit, and nearly the same crit damage dealt (or more) then normal damage dealt. dont think you can really start denying people's parses when they're actually going for what will result in the most damage done. but i agree with you that it shouldnt be out of bounds (misses shouldnt get beyond the 1%. if it goes beyond that and they've still done top damage then they've started converting accuracy to surge to get lucky). but then again, dont dual wielding classes have a relatively high miss chance on their OH ? and even when they hit 100% accuracy they will still miss quite often with their OH ?
  8. well i have add duty on first boss, that + the knock backs(even with spamming entrench) are an annoyance due to having so many channel ability's as lethality(and hybrid). and your cull is a way to get energy back. and the channel as mms is shorter. + being able to use orbital twice near every generator (at the beginning. and just before shield drops). and the roll with movement speed increase is a nice way to keep up your dps when moving with the shield. thats why i prefer mms its not that bad on 3rd boss tho if you can get corrosive gren on the adds (target the middle out of the 3 sniper and it will hit all 3 of em most of the time) but for 5th boss i really prefer mms. mms seems taylored for that fight. you can use orbital on every droid line(place it so you hit 2 droids at once), every second boss pop-up. every 2nd merchant/bodyguard pop up. + not having to apply poisons every damn time but i really prefer lethality for 4th boss(the infiltration) im the one going on bleu with a healer. best tactic ever ! lay down orbital first, run in. kite them around in a circle around your orbital. when they are casting the knockback just walk/roll behind them and nuke. they hit like truck wielding trucks but they barely will hit you if you kite right ^^ its even doable without a healer if you make 0 mistakes. forgot snipe+laze>roflshot was better then ambush ! that 5 month break make me forget some details ^^ but thats roughly the rotation i was using. tho i switched dart for grenade(to ensure dart wont run out on second cull) but best i got was only 27XX.
  9. no reason to parse then really, we could just run a simulation and say ''hey class X should do Y with Z gear and nothing more/less'' most rotations are so simplistic anyway that people wont really make a mistake. so it will all boil down on luck and the ability to cut your parse well. (and gear, but at a certain point that wont be the case either.) and if they want to stack away accuracy and spend hours doing parses to get one lucky parse or be busy adjusting the valeu's (and actually doing that well enough that they wont get caught) then kudo's for their dedication i guess. i CBA spending that much time busy with somethign so trivial as this. and if video proof would be a requirement guys whom do that would still spend hours at the dummy parsing untill they get lucky enough to be top or close to top again. parses dont require much skill, its primarily influenced by luck, gear and class. it doesnt really show the ability to preform well in OPS. seen enough people doing some good DPS whilst they were quite oblivious to red circles or whats going on in the raid. and lagg, forgot all about the lagg !
  10. well i used to be lethality but mms seems to be more solid for SV hm. + i'm parsing more with mms then lethality. lethality is quite nice for 2nd 4th and 6th boss of SV but i cba switching to lethality for those bosses cause it means i have to switch out armorings for set bonusses. your normal rotation is like sos>ft>snipex2>ft>ambush>ft and sometimes a corrosive in there if you have a gap (the rotation takes abit less then 12s with no lag and there's a 12s cd on sos.) i use orbital before SOS>ft. then volley and sos>Ft again. and continue from there. keeping that rotation causes orbital to be just off cooldown again before you're finishing your last FT. so you can use it again before sos. btw what do you use for your rotation as hybrid ? dont like the spec but i tried it out and i dont seem to do well with it. i use all dots>shatter/explosive>cull>sos>orbital/ambush>cull. ive checked the logs of those parses, and the parses done on OPS forum (where a mms broke 3.1k). basicly the same rotation. but their ability's are doing more base damage and they generally seem to have critted more. funny thing is, they generally have 2x proc relic. whilst im rocking 1 PVP passive power relic still ^^.

  15. i've been thinking about it aswell, (i generally play either lethality or MMS in PVE) atm after cull i use takedown then series of shots and then a rifle shot. (due to not having enough energy regen to use an snipe/explosive probe) now if a little alacrity would give that much more regen to make you able to consistently use a snipe/EP where the rifle shot is then i would go for it. as MMS i sometimes have abit of time in between followthrough and ambush. i think stacking some alacrity to make that gap bigger so you can use it without pushing your rotation 1s further would give you quite an boost to dps beside's that i think stacking a little bit of alacrity to counter lagg would be benificial aswell. -volkoff
