  1. One good enough reason is to play the class that you enjoy the most. Not every one is looking to get into a rated guild or raid guild. You can't make a generalization based on the attitude on some guilds on your server. Well I say they are viable and I have been playing this game since 2011. I have 16 different alts leveled cap I could possibly choose from. But I prefer to play my sentinel, based on I enjoy the class. That's not to say that I don't think the sentinel needs a little love from the developers. And I believe it's coming soon.
  2. IDK, I've seen a some pretty good sentinels on my server that would probably give any one, a run for their money. Maybe it's true for you, that the class is not playable, but you can't speak for me. To play the sentinel effectively, requires a high skill level cap. And the defensive cool downs we have still allows us to compete against guardians. I personally have not played against a guardian I couldn't figure out how to beat or at least keep the match close. And I think some one new to the game isn't necessarily looking to play a class just to become competitive in rank out of the gate. By the time this guy levels his sent to 60, the perceived disadvantages should be fixed.
  3. It's a viable class for pvp, you just need to have the patience to learn the high skill cap required to play it effectively. But once you do, you will realize you can compete with any class. The only reason to not play a class if you don't enjoy the style. IMHO
  4. Look if you call incoming or let your team know that you are under attack, if the no one comes and the pylon or node gets taken, it isn't really your fault. With that aside a lot of new players never let anyone know when they are in trouble so they will get yelled at by everyone else. Here are a few tips you can do to make sure that doesn't happen to you. 1) pretype a "inc pylon/node/door" this way you don't have to fiddle with commands if you are trying to stay alive. Some people will laugh at this advise, but not everyone can multitask. 2) As a sentinel never try and guard a pylon if you are not able to defend it. 3) Stand at between 20 to 30 feet away from the node, but never stand further than that, you might get CC'd, but use your trinket and do a quick saber throw is essential. If you stand too far, you will have to move closer before being able to interrupt and increases the chance to get CC'd a second time. 4) If you are CC'd use your trinket against two opposing players and quickly go into camouflage. Then hit Awe, to briefly stun them. Then run out of sight, so that the sin will have to search for you. (remember now both sins have used their trinkets if they broke out of awe prematurely so you guys are even). 5) Remember, it's about buying time, hopefully some one saw your call for help and are on their way. If not, you can only stall for time, but the inevitable will still happen - at least it won't be your fault. 6) Use your saber throw to keep one sin from capping and run at the second and start fighting! This is due or die, and since you are going to probably lose the node anyways(if no one responds to your earlier call for help) take at least one sin with you. Let's be honest here as much people complain about no calls, very few calls actually get answered in time. 7) use your defense cool downs wisely. As a sent you do have a couple of trinkets to pop to prevent massive damage to you. Read about each ability and think about using when you need to. That's all the advise I can give. But seriously, never try and guard a node if you can help it.
  5. So I purchased the expansion pack, and I was expecting to get the 12 XP boast. Even though I have a month and a half left on my subscriber status, I don't have the boast. Do I need to be a recurring subscriber to get it then?
  6. You have the basics down pretty well, but keep in mind most pug healers don't have the luxury of a pocket tank. With respect to your tank, he/she needs to move her guard around the entire group, instead of keeping it stationary on you. Regarding your healing, I notice that you didn't use revivification. Is that preference or do you not like it? Although you can, a sage isn't really a focus healer. Revivification is a useful hot to apply whenever you have a bunch of your players taking simultaneous damage. IMO, you can boost your heals per second by applying it more often. Your position is good, your targeting is good, but it might be helpful to learn to use focus target. Some players use it, others don't. Also, try to manage your force points better with consumption. You should be able to keep your force above 50% for the entire fight, unless you are in rank or against tough competition. When your force dips below 75% just hit consumption once or twice and throw on a HOT on yourself, and you shouldn't need to stop and recharge. That's it for me.
  7. BC is one of the more active servers atm. Few ex Bastions crossed over which has made pvp more fun. A lot of progression raids going on, check the guild index thread for info. Hope to see you in game.
  8. For watchman, how come there is no challenger gear set? I see weaponmaster, but nothing else. Does it matter for classic gear?
  9. Drama, is what some people live for. If you let people know they can get under your skin, they are going to keep on it. That's why I said, you have nothing to apologize for, because the people you apologize to don't deserve it or even appreciate it. Waiting for the usual suspects to jump on me for writing another advise thread. Ready set go...
  10. I'm a watchman junkie, so I might be a bit bias if I say play watchman. Watchman is a damage over time damage dealer. It is in theory, the best PVE spec of the three. Focus and Carnage are geared as burst specs which is great for pvp. Watchman does well in pvp too. My general rotation is force leap to Zealous Strike, to Over load saber to Cauterize, then Merciless slash. This is your foundation as a watchman, everything else stems from this rotation. Remember that Cauterize can stack twice and Merciless slash can stack 4 times. Of all the sentinel specs I would probably say watchman is the most alacrity dependent spec. Although your gear offers some alacrity so you won't need to stack more. Focus on power and prime state with a bit of crit. You went to have about 2600 to 2700 prime stat to 24% crit. Most Juyo's stack all power instead of crit, which works well for pvp.
  11. Company is a really good PVP/PVE guild.
  12. Too bad you rolled the wrong faction , the pugs definitely need more healers. I play pub side, but the guilds I normally face off against that are quality pvp guilds are: Grim Determination, Sicktwistedindviduals, Cowboyfunk, Sithorder, and Genocide(?).
  13. There was definitely no intent to bash you. I think Ebola, was upset because I gave you advise, when clearly you didn't need me to tell you how to play. Sorry Canin, I should have read your alts at the bottom of the screen and not the user name. She is right, you are a great player.
  14. Thanks for clearing that up. No. Where's your evidence of that? I wasn't part of that recruitment drive. Only Exius and Zanie have the ability to add peeps. . Noted. Like who?
