  1. I managed to keep mine.. but guess what! It didn't matter because the last node is broken!. So you can't complete the quest anyways... Hopped every instance on Jedi Covenant and all broken. Thanks BW. Should have delayed the launch instead of launching such a broken game. What a waste of time..
  2. I actually really like this expansion storyline. It's not going to keep me interested story wise past now because everything is the same once you've done it once. Storylines are all the same so no difference between classes. SoR to me feels like it's setting the stage for the next expansion. More of laying the groundwork for the next one than a true expansion in itself. I'm hoping the next expansion next year will be bigger. But for $20 I think it was a good deal. The dailies on Rishi and Yavin should keep me interested for awhile.
  3. I'm sure each server's GTN market responds a little differently. And depends on what time of day you do etc. etc. etc.. Yes people may undercut themselves without knowing it. But like some others have shown, you can buy those dirt cheap prices, get them off he GTN, then relist them. It's Pawn Stars SWTOR style... On the other hand if I'm undercutting by a decent but not huge amount, then it's because my calculations tell me that I can sell Item A for x amount of creds and someone may be desperate enough to pay the higher price. On the other hand if I list several items on the GTN for much cheaper and sell all the items quickly, I will then actually come out a head. 3 smaller profit sales will sometimes lead to more $$ than one larger profit. As someone who sells a lot of stuff, it's much better for me to go with the smaller profit % but larger volume, than larger profit with less volume.
  4. thanks for the info everyone... just gotta go practice practice practice....
  5. IMO really once you hit about 22k HP everything else is gravy. If you end up needing more HP's than that, the problem most likely lies with tactics or other people not doing their job. Your gear/relics/implants should give you plenty of HP's without the need to augment. I've gone with shield/absorb to smooth out damage. The aug's I use are shield/power and absorb/power. Better mitigation and higher damage.
  6. A Gaurdian tank is one of the best melee tanks there are. You will hear a lot of people complaining about this or that class being broken etc... But in the right hands a Gaurdian tank can be tough as s***... There's nothing really wrong with the class itself. but you gotta take the time to learn the highs and lows. But there are highs and lows with every class. If, like you said, you like to be in the thick of it, Gaurdian tank is a good choice.
  7. Best tank is Vangaurd properly tank specced. Hands down. (yes i'm biased:) Ranged tank is Vangaurd Melee tank is Gaurdian
  8. OK, this probably has an easy answer but it's kinda giving me trouble (i'll admit it) When the time comes to switch on the Zorn and Toth fight, i have a ridiculously hard time targeting the switch. Example, if i'm on Toth and he jumps over to Zorn, I have a dickens of a time getting my target on Zorn to taunt and pull him. Soooo, do you who are more experienced at Denova tab switch target, or do you just click on Zorn to switch? I know that sounds like a simple question, and it is, but it seems to be giving me trouble. Everything else I can deal with in that fight.
  9. OK, i know this is an older thread, but i'm gonna throw something out there. Not knowing exactly your spec and what set of gear you are using it's just a guess though. What you need to look at is your Defense vs Shield/Absorb ratings. If you have a high defense rating and lower shield/absorb you will defend a lot more damage but the damage that gets through will do a lot of damage, hence the yo-yo effect you are seeing. If you have higher shield/absorb the damage you take will not be as spiky. I believe the first roll is defense and the second is shield/absorb. Take a look at your gear, as i've noticed some sets change which of those stats they concentrate on. In my case, and i know it's not a direct comparison as i'm a Vangaurd, my defense chance is only like 12% but my shield chance is 50% and my absorb is 57%. So technically more damage gets through to me, but a lot of it gets shielded/absorbed, so it's smoother. Though as people said you seem to be fine, just sounds like you'd prefer not to worry about the yo-yo you see..
  10. Absorb and Shield are much more important to you as a PVE tank than defense is. Pumping Absorb/Shield will smooth out your damage mitigation and make things easier on your healer. Defensive stats do have diminishing returns as you get higher, but with Shield and Absorb it's upwards of 50 - 60% before that happens, and you won't get that high yet. Work the HM's to get Tionese or Columi sets. Recruit will work for now, but you don't want to stay with that for long IMO. If you PVP a Battlemaster Supercommando set with shield/absorb augments works fine too. And I completely agree with the above that Aim is a secondary stat. Another thing to keep in mind, plus 50 content is really unforgiving if your group does not use good tactics. So really spend time to learn the fights and learn how to use taunts, pulls, and when to guard the healer and when to guard the DPS. Good tactics will often save your arse in tough situations moreso than stats will. From what i've read/seen/used (and i am not claiming to be an expert here) : Endurance: shoot for HP's over 20k. I have 22.5k and that seems to be fine for most things. Shield/Absorb: My goal is having both over 50% Aim: My accuracy is like 92% and perfectly servicable. Defense: my defensive chance is around 13%
  11. That is good advice. Also, don't be afraid to fully utilize the CC abilities of your group. Why fight more enemies at a time than you have to. There's no shame in making the fight easier. Another suggestion is to view cryo grenade as a mini CC. Sticky works well that way too on weak enemies.
  12. Nice guide, well laid and easy to understand. Wish this had been posted back when I started my Vangaurd. The question I have for you, and all Tanks in general. Grabbing aggro when you're in a HM or OP which requires CCing some of the tougher elements of the fight. In that situation you can't use AOE taunts or Mortar Volley without breaking CC. What's the best rotation to use in that situation? I rely heavily on single target taunts, and storm. It's a heckuva lot of work that way but hey, that's our job...
  13. I have a full BM Supercommando set . I don't have much trouble with survivability. No matter what you do if you are in a 50 WZ and you get three guys focus firing you you won't survive long. And honestly I don't view DPS as a main focus of mine.... My focus is gaurd and firing off taunts to pull more damage off the DPS and healers. And even though I may die, if I can hold an attack long enough for reinforcements to arrive and prevent a cap i've done my job. I also get far more comms/credits/exp/medals etc.... playing in defensive mode than when I try to worry about DPS. However, every server seems to have different playstyles. My server tends to have low damage, defensive slogs...
  14. I too want to thank everyone for their work and explanations on this. This is EXACTLY the information I need right now. I leveled as a PVP tank, but now that i'm in a guild that's active (long story) I want to do more HM's and Ops. So I have been trying to figure out what stats to focus on when I get new gear. My BM Supercommando set is passable right now. But I need to get a PVE set. So this thread has been incredibly useful when looking at the stat changes between BM sets and Columi/Rakata/Black Hole sets. Thanks to Justcae for your explanations...
