  1. This is still happening in 5.2.1 Start the game and just click off (or alt-tab away from) the loading screen before it gets to the character selection. Windows 10 Pro (1703) [aka Creator's Update), Intel i7, 16GB, NVidia GeForxe GTX 760.
  2. Still crashing on "Quit game" for me in 5.0.1, using windowed fullscreen. Win 10 Pro x64 with GeForce GTX 760 and latest drivers

  4. Finally got all class stories done about 2 weeks ago, and got my legendary status and icon. Was there yesterday, but has gone today.
  5. Just like when you win a medal at the Olympics, then they take it away from you after the closing ceremony, because they're going to do it all again in 4 years. This is pretty dumb IMHO. Achievements should be permanent. Add a new set if you are running it again, especially since the criteria are going to change anyway.

  9. I think the number of people who truly wanted to keep 4.0 level comp numbers is a lot less. If you go through that feedback thread, the majority opinion is essentially "went too far". No doubt, you can't please everyone, but no one has said they are going back to those levels - so your sub is safe > this is MMO. I understand that people want to solo stuff due a lot of reasons. But if comps are much better than real players, then where is the incentive to create groups "MMO" or not, the game has a very strong solo focus. Personally, I'm a very casual solo player. I don't group unless I have no choice. My content is therefore capped to heroics that I can solo. That has gotten significantly harder to the point where dieing multiple times is less about it being a challenge and more about it being frustrating. My own experience and opinion. The companions in SWTOR, as I understand it, is to replace players. A 2-player group with comps is akin to a 4-player group (albeit probably not as effective). This vastly opens up the experience and gets around the need for full balanced player groups. I like this versatility a lot. I didn't cancel because of the nerf. I won't cancel if it still isn't enough. I'll change my play style, level alts, but it will affect what I can do and so how long the content keeps me interested. I'm absolutely ready for the next Chapter.
  10. But not everyone plays like you. I don't think anyone believes 4.0 comps didn't need nerfing, but it went too far. So now instead of a 75% nerf, it will be more like 40%. Sounds like a balance to me. If they are still too God like for you, use a lower level comp, don't use a healer, put them in passive mode, run OPs. You have lots of choices. But for the majority, the solo casual players, they don't have choices. So, play how you want, cancel your sub if you have to, but at least realise other people play differently.
  11. That's just not true, is it. You don't have to be on one extreme or the other. I'm very casual. I had a lot of fun playing the old style, however, even I agree the healers were too powerful. But, for me, the balance has shifted to where it isn't fun any more. You, however, are saying it was boring and is now great. But there is a middle ground. The comps could be balanced more. As a solo don't want to get rolfstomped trying to do the only things I can do that let me advance. But to advance, I have to play H2+s. You want challenge, and you can move onto ops, or if you have to do H2s, use lower level comps, different stances or even not take one. I don't have those choices. My choice is "l2p noob".
  12. Level 23 Assassin with level 6 companion in a 2+ heroic on groups 4+ mobs: Generally die a lot more . Either heals can't keep up, tank doesn't agro everything or dps isn't enough., - comp in dps mode: we die - comp in tank mode: won't agro group, I'll die if I can't dps down quickly enough - comp in heal mode: I'll often die, not enough healing Level 65 Jug in 208 with level 17 comp in Star Fortress H2+ Prepatch: This was soloable, just very slow. Yes, my health never dipped much, healing was overpowered. Postpatch: Single target or 3- mobs are ok. Can take significant damage. Hard to tell even I'm even being healed or just mitigating. 4+ (i.e. the 4 knights near end). Haven't got past it yet as I die. Combination of heals not enough and my dps not enough. Yes, heals was too much. However, if was FUN. A lot of fun. Blasting through everything. Dieing isn't fun. And given that H2+ SF is pretty necessary for a solo 200-208 player, not being able to do it is off-putting. I think you went too far.
  13. I'm very causal, and pretty much a solo player due to time and family. I just tried some SF heroics and died. I have a 65 Jug win 208 with a 17 Lana healing. I already have the One and Only achieve, but wanted to see the effect of the recent changes. The trash was ok, and the paladin too. But now can't get past the 4 knights. Lana wasn't healing much, and I'm not doing enough dps to clear them quickly enough. I understand they needed to be reduced, but the question was how much. I was really having a lot of fun playing the expansion and going through the content, even solo. If this is how it is now, then for me the fun factor has been reduced quite a lot, and I don't just want to log in to find I am blocked in doing any of the things I could have done.
  14. Everything had been 12 up to this point. And having played another char after Ilum, know that Makeb was giving out 12. Is this as expected or just not been increased?
  15. 10 times now and I still can't finish this because of the resets. None of the suggestions above work, as all the allies all get killed and then everyone comes after me. So many times I've jumped in when boss was nearly dead, but when he's about 2% it resets and I die instantly, and get sent back to the start.! This is so aggravating. I'm doing my class quests so can't get past this point. edit: FINALLY. After numerous glitches, and the "A" team getting wiped by the boss, and having to die running back through the mobs. Logging out and back in again is what fixed it. Then I could let the others take on the boss and they don't die - while I take on the adds around the edge. Boss dies without me touching him, but I could still loot. 0/10 - wouldn't accept again
