  1. Id say we'd have to see with this mentioned 6.0, I'm not saying its not bad now. However, some of the rumors did originate from that article. But, yeah I agree, the game has been in a decline. My theory? There was a a pretty big demand on these forums for a return to story. However i think what everyone wanted were a return to class specific stories. When KOTFE and KOTET came out with what it did, story-wise, it was fun for one playthrough but hard to even repeat. Plus no PVE content with OPS. Solution? I think the recent posts by devs mention this, but they are looking back to what the community wants now. Who's to guess the effort and money with what they have wasnt focused on the story cutscenes etc. I think a solution were to return to a equal focus between story and PVE like in previous expansions. There are plenty of other things to add to the game that are doable. I think it could be done if it was focused on. Even with what they have.
  2. I just wanted to mention that, the overall optimism of the game I feel was at its lowest during that period of time before F2P. I know we had more servers, everyone was a bit more spread out but...I saw MUCH more posts about how this game was DEAD. Vets, you all remember that one point in time, it was leading up to the CM and such and there was hardly ANYTHING being announced or released. I forgot how long. There was this trailer for Makeb, and it wasnt until maybe a year until we saw any sign of it again. That trailer I speak of, Im not sure if any of you remember it, but it said "New Abilities" and it showed toons doing moves we already had lol. Imagine seeing that as a sub. I still remained sub, but still... F2P honestly saved the game back then. Im not saying the game is perfect or thriving but, the movies weren't announced back then either. So...maybe 6.0 and this spot we're in now aint so bad eh? Did we even get a roadmap before F2P came out? Im just saying overall, we have been here BEFOREEE. This community on SWTOR has been the longest battlefield vs EA. We are battle hardened. We survived through 2012 and the Disney purge. One Kotaku article? THAT. IS. NOTHING.
  3. Hello all, SPOILERS! When I say humanity, of course its not referring to just the human race. Im reffering to the overall aspect of the mind, how is copes with everything is sees. So it goes for all sentient beings tbh. As we wait for 6.0, I was going to mention something that I'd like to see implemented in the story for our Outlander. It's been a long time since we first walked into that first cutscene Bioware...the moment is nostalgic and uplifting. The tone of the galaxy (depending on your class ofc) is lighter than how it eventually turns out. Overall, thats my point. How far is the Outlander willing to go mentally? Physically? I know this is all relative to how you play your toon, but nothing can deny the fact that any of our characters have been in this fight for so long. My example is the Jedi Knight. First we started on Tython, from there we started our legend and saved Tython. We have fought off countless Sith, corrupt Jedi, etc. The Hero of Tython faced the Emperor more than anyone, he/she witnessed the genocide on that agriculture planet (forgot the name) in ACT I, they were twisted to the dark side, tortured, betrayed, and then redeemed. In the end, along with all of our companions, we thought we stood victorious with the Emperor defeated. And then... Makeb. Oricon. Revan. I could see the Outlander at this point seeing hope in the galaxy, the Empire and Republic working together on a common goal. The preservation of the galaxy. Even if they witnessed horrible things. Because...dont fool yourself, even though there is gore or blood in this game, it does have dark tones to it. War, racial discrimination (Evocii), genocide, and romance. You have to ask yourself, how are my toons doing emotionally? mentally? And then....The Eternal Empire happens. We lose the ones we love most, or have been with this entire time. Eventually we reunite with them, but after going through what our characters did in the Eternal story, still with the weight of the galaxy on their shoulders....and there is no sign of it letting up. Im starting to get the feeling that the story of the Outlander will be a tragedy just like Revan's. In terms of it not being a happy ending. It seems at this point, no matter how hard we try...the galaxy just cannot break the cycle of war. We are "betrayed" by Theron, our closest advisor. The galaxy is on the brink of war once again. Resources are running thin and desperation is now present on a wide-scale. How far can this person go before they have had enough? I would like to see a line of just pure humanity coming from our toons, when talking with Lana or something. We stop in a hallway about to leave to see what Theron is really up to and then...theres this emotional moment. "Lana....I don't know how much more I can take. Every time I try, I lose something close to me." Could there be a possibility that the long struggle, the weariness of both war and loss could have some effect on our toon? What if our toons broke down in front of Lana, and she brought us back up. Lana has been there ever since Revanites, she has never showed any signs of distrust. And now...she does the one thing that really "truly" saves us. She comforts us. Sorry if I ranted on this post, but I was going to see if this is an aspect you would like the see in some FORM or fashion in future dialogue.
  4. Just a quick thought, I've listened to some SWTOR interviews around the time of the reveal at E3. Excited beyond measure. Though, just a suggestion. It'd be cool if they implemented the old companion conversation method. What I mean- in KOTOR, you would be walking around the city streets of Taris or the plains of Dantooine. All of a sudden, it would break to a cutscene and show a certain companion and say for example- "Something seems to be worrying Bastila, maybe I should talk to her." I know they have their own version in SWTOR with the chat thingy popping up. I think this method could change things up..even if its a small change and go back to some old roots, it would spark up some awesome KOTOR vibes. It also immersed me a bit into my own character, though its just my opinion.
  5. Just wanted to slip into the General Discussion section to compliment this guy. I've been playing for awhile and never have I've seen someone get so freaking pumped during an interview since 1.2. My example is when I got on youtube and watched the IGN interview over Galactic Strongholds back when it was going to be released, it was awesome. I wasn't even excited for GSH but after I watched that interview I hopped on the bandwagon. Also a compliment to the Devs for the big turn around this game has taken...and how excited they all sound for the new year of 2015. Just wanted to lay out some positive compliments for the Holidays! Merry Christmas everyone!
  6. Kinda off-topic. But. Plot Twist: Satele Shan is really a secret revanite and Theron is forced to put her down.
  7. Currently, I am leading my guild ( We've been formed for about 3 years now.) towards the goal of getting a guild ship. We are small, 260 members, however there are like 7-10 of us that are active within the 55 and elder game content. Also to add on to that, we have other obligations outside of the game. So with that being said when we found out about the 50 mil price, we were a bit overwhelmed. However, soon after we got to work. Starting from 1 mil...yes 1 million credits in our 4-slot guild bank, over the past 4 days we've chipped away to get it to 14.2 mil. Stuff sold on the GTN thankfully, giving us a boost. My fellow guild mates have dedicated their time to running dailies as a group as well, and when I get on I run dailies, which takes about 2 hours for me. We are still a longgg way from our goal, but we show no sign of easing up. We gained 13 mil in 4 days. We aren't a guild filled with rich players or top notch raiders. We are casual players that set for a goal to reach as a guild, and when we reach it, it will be an accomplishment the guild will remember for a long time. That's why the price is so high. The bar is set, go out and reach it. Hope this inspires other small guilds and casual guilds to go for it. *Battlecry!!*
  8. My guild is small, maybe got about 7 people actively donating. I see that 50 mill is a lot, but it's a frigging spaceship. For the past 3 days we have been hitting dailies hard and pvp hard. We have raised 11.3 mil in 3 days. )(some stuff sold on GTN. When we hit 50 mill not only will it be a victory that brings the guild closer, but it will be very uplifting. 39 mil to go! Wish us luck!
  9. I think it was stated, while doing the Illum storyline, that he saw the current Empire as broken. He thought that only a united empire with alien help would prevail, not " a divided empire with a dead Emporer." Even though as we learn he is not dead...
  10. Now it's official that SWTOR and all of the TOR games are part of the "legends" group like many other stories. In my opinion this is really irrelevant because this storyline takes place way before the movies, nothing will affect it. But it just makes my head turn when they didn't come out and say it was canon because of a couple of reasons. They stated SWTCW animated series was Canon. And in this series I can recall a moment when Pre Vizsla (if I spelled it right) tell Kenobi that he acquired his black light saber blade when " His ancestors raided the temple during the Fall of the Old Republic" . I was wondering if this was a reference to the Sacking of Coruscant, or another event I missed or we haven't seen yet in TOR. Another one, is probably Just a hunch, but there was a quick (a very quick) tease on TCW where you can see the helmet of Casus Fett sitting on a shelf during one of the episodes. You can find that one on YouTube. And finally this one is more direct. They stated that Darth Bane and Darth Plageus (spelling again) are canon characters created by Lucas. No clue if the novels about Darth Bane are canon but there is a little segment in the first book in the Darth Bane trilogy where he mentions and describes Darth Revan and his conquest. I may just be over thinking it. But what do y'all think about these references?
  11. How a statement can change so quickly...if the subject was milk.
  12. It has nothing to do with Motivation. The Devs release new details when they have it, they said they don't want to overhype something and then not being able to follow through with it. They are excited I'm sure. Eric or Bruce said they will have more details coming soon in the next few weeks, and that was a couple of weeks ago. So be patient, more info is on the way for 2.9.
  13. Yeah! You're referring to the Dairy Queen ice cream right?
  14. I have seen....Deucheasarus....as a name All of my names are a lie
