  1. That's what you get with a set-stat crafting system. The only modifier is the price. Whereas if you have a craftable item who's stats can vary, depending on the materials used to make said item. The price can fluctuate greatly and the price of an item fluctuates with the quality and people are willing to pay a premium.
  2. Wow....some GM's don't understand the concept of a PVP server. Call BioWare and report the incident.
  3. This cannot be contained within one question, but I'll make it as brief as possible. RE: Server Transfers Rumors have been circulating that you'll only allow server transfers from high-pop to low-pop servers. This is not acceptable. Many servers are lucky if they see greater than 10 people on the fleet at any one time. The fact is, you folks had way too many servers at launch, you dumped pre-order guild launches are servers that haven't proven themselves in the long term, and allowing a handful of people to transfer to these low-pop servers will not save those servers from dying. So this is a multi-part question: When 1.3 comes live, will server transfers be to ANY server? Will our legacy be in-tact? (or for example some of us rolled on a server to try out the community on that server, will you allow us to take the higher of the two legacies when we transfer those characters?.,..which is after-all...fair. Will we get to keep our perks that we earned on the old server? I think to resolve all this, it should be handled in this way: When you transfer, you should have two options: Transfer a single character. or Transfer your entire legacy The single character is straight forward. The legacy would simply be: Transfer your legacy to the new server, if one exists on the new server, the legacy of higher level is kept and any pre-existing characters on that server are absorbed into the transferred legacy. at that point, all character names in the legacy are re-set, thus allowing the player to rename their characters in the event they have single or multiple characters with the same name on two different servers.
  4. Exactly, I'm not here to worry about someone getting their feelings hurt. I'm here to play my $15 a month worth. It's rational self-interest. If I don't have the gear, I don't expect to raid, unless they just need a spot to fill. Casuals need to learn that just because you're 50, doesn't mean you get to run with whatever group you want.
  5. Okay for all you anti-damage meter people. This is simple: if I'm running a group and I'm wanting to power through an instance, I don't want to carry people that don't have the gear and can't contribute in a meaningful way. So until I get a damage meter, I have to waste time to inspect your gear to deem that you're up to snuff for what we're trying to do in a particular instance. This takes time. Furthermore, if you have the gear, I want a way to determine whether you're contributing or just putzing around and collect loot. (You know it's really easy to use your default attack and make it look to everyone else like you're doing something.) If you want to play in a casual way, then group with casuals, nobody is stopping you. But don't expect to run with the big dogs when you can't get off the porch, WE DON'T WANT YOU.... With or without damage meters, if you can't hack it, you're going to get kicked. Damage and gear meters just make it easier for us to tell you no...you're still going to get told no if you have crap gear or can't play your class. End of thread.
  6. Negative Sir, and if you pulled that in one of my groups, you'd be permanently blacklisted.
  7. I've done that boss 6 times now....it's called Stimpacks and Heals...you can easily solo this boss.
  8. Most purple crystals thus far have been either quest rewards...PVP vendor stuff, or Ilum.
  9. I'm in...and I'm complaining, just to refute your claim.
  10. PVP - If it's red it's dead, more of a free-for-all vibe. PVE - If it's yellow, you can kill it...and it'll be funny; because you get the first shot and there's nothing he can do about it...but players on these servers tend to be more uptight and are prone to carebear behavior....but if you hate being jumped by assassins and operatives, then don't get PVP flagged and you can travel around openly without worry.
  11. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Star+Wars+Authors there ya go, Champ. Stackpole has some good ones. James Lucerno, RA Salvatore, Aaron Allston and Troy Denning, to name a few. I've read few Star Wars books that were just bad...some of them were ho-hum...the X-Wing series had me bored by about book 5. ...and don't get me started on Joe Schrieber, that guy irritates me.
  12. Tim is a yutz...if I have to read "Sardonic" one more time, I swear, I will strangle him at the next convention. (plus he tried to sell me his Sega master system for $150 when I was busy hangin' out with Hart Fisher. Although, Tim is a pretty funny guy, and he does know how to construct a plot, I don't care for his writing and over-use of some of his favorite words of the month).
