  1. That's quite simple really. If the opposing team has middle, you've been fighting there for quite a while and are not making progress, then leave the offnode with 1 guardian. That single node definitely won't win you the battle, so if you can't cap mid with 6, you're just going to loose, period, no matter how well you guard the offnode. Yes, it's a risk, but better to have 7 fighting for mid, and risk having solo guardian, because that at least gives you a CHANCE of winning. Either that one guy makes a difference and your team caps mid and it's a win, or he doesn't and you loose anyway which means you're in no worse situation than you'd be with 2 guarding. OR the offnode gets capped too if the other team is THAT much better, and at least it ends faster. If your team has middle then it basically depends on the amount of stealthers they have , but in general it's better to have 2 guarding. tl;dr you own mid - guard offnode with 2, other team owns mid - guard offnode with 1.
  2. Fine. You should feel bad because your "enjoyment" comes with the following prices: - Gear grinds make having alts impossible - Gear gap screws up game enjoyment for MOST (*) veteran players (when I kill someone I'd prefer to be able to say to myself: "HAH! I was better!" rather than "oh well, poor recruit-guy, never even had a chance with this gear") - Gear gap screws up game enjoyment for non-veteran players (whatever gave you the idea that new players have some holy obligation to join warzones and get facerolled by everyone for your personal enjoyment, until they can get gear?!) - Gear gap drives casual players away (and sorry, but I don't see why just because Mr. X happens to have a life and Mr. Y doesn't, why should Mr. Y get advantage over Mr. X. Mr. Y should be more skilled anyway, from all the time he spends in the game, and if he's not then he deserves to get ganked) and casual players are what keeps every MMO profitable for the company - Most normal people would prefer matches to be won based on SKILL of the participants, not based on how much time they spend in game (*) Of course there are those veteran players who just keep playing a lot... and don't have ANY skill to show for it. Take away their gear advantage and they're going to get pooned by pretty much everyone, hence the QQ about naked warzones.
  3. So. You suggest that if I don't like gear grind I should just shut up and leave to play some other game. Fine. Except, newsflash. The current rules of "SWTOR club" as you call it are: "undress and compete on equal footing with people who spent months grinding their EWH set". And devs have repeatedly stated that even when naked WZs are fixed they want the gear gap to be minimal. So. If you want gear grinds, may I suggest you take your very own advice? I hear World of Warcraft has some nice looong gear grinds with huge gear gap AND uber cool kungfu pandas. You're also free to start your own "club" where there will be no game at all, just the guy who showed up to more matches previously will be automatically proclaimed winner. I wonder how many people would be interested in such an activity.
  4. OMG BalphoWan, I agree completely. In fact I think your rule should apply to every competition human beings engage in, not just MMOs. Let's take chess for example. Obviously the current system is broken, giving every player an equal number of pieces at the beginning of a game is a commie pinko socialist idea straight out of Marx's book. Players should be given pieces based on how much they play, so for example if Kasparov wanted to play chess today he should start the game with only the king (he's retired and doesn't play chess anymore, so any "gear" he got would now be 5 tiers behind if this were an MMO), meanwhile a guy let's call him Mr. Smith, who religiously attends every local tournament (and gets his *** handed to him at every one of them) should start with 5 queens 10 rooks and so on. So, if Mr. Smith and Kasparov were to play chess, by your "logic", then Mr. Smith would win AND THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE CUS MR. SMITH IS OBVIOUSLY BETTER AT CHESS! Wooooo! Should be the same with everything. High jump? People who attend more competitions should jump off a crate or something, after all they should have some reward for attending competitions. Sprint? Make everyone run different distances, based on how many competitions they attended last year. Boxing? Give the attender more points at the beginning of the match. After all, he's obviously a better fighter. If he were to meet a thug in the dark alley he could totally show him all those certificates from all the comps he attended and the thug would be totally beaten by this very act.
  5. Aaaaaw, 8 minutes and first rager already! Sooooo cuuuuute! Does Mr. Carried-By-Gear want a lollipop? No. you see, some people have this thing called a "life". When for example an EWH chestpiece cost IIRC about 3.5k ranked comms + 2k normal comms (for the WH chestpiece which you need to trade in) - when you're on server on which the only RWZs happening is our top PVP guild making 2 teams and win-trading - you're basically screwed unless you spend 5 hours a day warzoning. So stop talking out of your bottom, if gear was so easy to get warzones wouldn't consist of 50% recruit-geared people. And goodness help you if you have an alt. Now what would happen when you remove grind? Now, a normal hardcore PVPer will just shrug and keep owning. He spends 5 hours a day PVPing so he has the skill to show for it. But YOU? You dooooooon't and now you're going to get owned by casuals and you KNOW it, that's why you're raging! Oh really? At worst, a few people like you will quit (which is a positive thing). The good pvpers will continue owning, now the casuals will have their fun too if they're fast learners, more people will make alts as time required to gear them both is no longer a factor, the only group that's gonna quit is carried-by-gear bads like you. Bye, not gonna miss you! <blows you a kiss and waves farewell> Oh yeah, wow is the shining example of what PVP should look like. Totally and absolutely. Well, newsflash: wow peaked at the end of Wotlk, cata was a downward slide, and since the introduction of kung-fu pandas that turned into a freefall.
  6. Pray tell. If you're so pro, leet skillzed and uber and so on, and I'm supposedly a total noobish newb keyboardturner for wanting a level playing field... Why do you need gear advantage too on top of your supposedly leet mad skillz to beat a noobish me in a warzone? The truth is that people who rage against the removal of gear progression are bads carried by their meticulously grinded gear, and nothing else. There is precisely no reason for a good player to fear facing equally geared average warzoner, but for bads? They'd get owned, and without the gear grind to fix it to give them an advantage they'd either have to learn to stop being bad or just accept that fact. And regarding the lack of customization option? Fine. Remove bolster from lvl 55 warzones, put in place 1 tier of PVP gear (in different flavours, with various bonuses) and give it away for free or close to free. All the customization you might ever want without the need for tedious grinds. But somehow I get the feeling that it won't be popular among the carried-by-gear ragers.
  7. So. You're basically admitting that DPS sorc sucks, but "it's okay cus they can always respec for healing". And healer sorc sucks too in 2.0, but "it's okay, cus they can respec to DPS"?
  8. It's even worse than that. He's comparing some sort of mixture of past, future and present sage to other classes. Apparently, according to him, just because they were good healers at release (*) they deserve to be nerfed. And apparently they're somehow OP on PTS because they have stunbubble on live. Don't ask me how's that "logic" work. (*) no they weren't. People just didn't play as well back then and didn't know how to focus the sage, but put 1.0 sage in today's warzone, with smashers abound and people going out of their way to kill them and they have a snowball's chance in hell of lasting long enough to make a difference.
  9. Everyone knows sage/sorc is powerful below lvl 50, as they get most of their core abilities much faster than other classes. You just wait until you enter lvl 50 pvp world, you'll be spending most of the match staring at a forcefield in med center.
  10. Can you tell me one thing? If sorc is soooo OP, then why are you not playing one already? Oh yes, I know, "too easy". Especially compared to your PT, right? Cus spamming flameburst/rail shot and watching people drop like flies is HAAAAAARD!
  11. Nah, he's a PT bitter about his inability to counter Force Speed and wants sorcs nerfed rather than to L2P.
  12. Because about 98% of PVP happening in this game is normals?
  13. LOL, you apparently dont know that no matter how many sorcs you have, you're getting only ONE bubble every 15 seconds at most?
  14. There's nothing wrong with healer sage/sorc RIGHT NOW. In 2.0 pretty much every class gets a shiny new anti-kiting skill, so, to compensate, the class that relies on kiting to survive... looses 2 kiting tools (stun bubble is gone, root on knockback is unreachable for healers now). THAT'S where the problem is for healers. DPS-wise, everyone said that sorc was going to be the glass cannon, trading off surv for insane damage. Problem is, while they certainly got the "glass" part right, the "cannon" seems to have been given to smashers for some reason. THAT's where the problem is for DPS.
  15. So. Remember the last time you were in a warzone, waiting for the match to start, and found out you were with 4-5 sorcs on your team? What was your first thought? Was it "OMG OMG we're soooo going to win that one!"? No, it was "oh groan, we're so screwed". Now remeber the time you had 5 smashers on your team? What was your first thought THEN? But yeah, sorc is definitely OP and needs NERF NERF NERF. Oh, and buff smashers some more plz.
