  1. Please help me. I can't decide which to go for next. I have finished chapter 3 on consular, chapter 2 on imperial agent and chapter 1 on smuggler. Now my altoholic side wants to start a new character. The alternatives are trooper, bounty hunter, knight or warrior - or maybe even an inquisitor. Which class should I start (as an alt for when I need a break from my agent), and why?
  2. I have now (are lvl 46 atm and valor 40) 1000 merc comm, and one champ bag in cargo hold. When I get lvl 50, I plan to buy 5 champ bags, which gives me 6 bags right of the bat... And in the speed I am going, I am getting way more than 1000 wz comm, so I plan to equip my companions with pvp weapons as well. No need to let the commendations go to waste. Edit: Also, I have bought a fair amount of boxes which gives me gear and medpacks/stims, and have way too many adrenal stims now (I forget to use them as often as I should ). Also the wz medpacks are good to have
  3. I use east and west. East is the right one (for republic) and west is the left one (obviously). For republic this is not a problem, but I see how it is for imperials. However, in voidstar, when defending, which side is left and which side is right?
  4. The old forum (before the wipe) had a thread on what the worst quotes from Star Wars was, to use in bed. I'd thought it could be fun to revisit that subject. To get started I have a few ones (stolen from that thread): In that speed, are you sure you'll be able to pull out in time? Into the garbage chute, flyboy! Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you? Gold Five: Stay on target. Gold Leader: *We're too close!* Gold Five: Stay on target! Gold Leader: [shouts] Loosen up! Where are you taking this... thing? We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life. What are your best (or was it worst) Star Wars quotes, in bed?
  5. Yes. This is a good suggestion! However, why not go all the way and remove Expertise? PvE: +100 Aim +100 Endurance +80 Accuracy +35 Crit PvP: +100 Aim +100 Endurance +65 Crit +65 Surge I know it seems difficult to imagine BioWare removing expertise. But let us aim high! The results might be better than if we aim low.
  6. Yes, I approve of the message of this thread. Most of all I approve of the message to get rid of a dedicated PvP stat. If anything (and I truly believe this is the way to go) the difference in PvP-gear as opposed to PvE gear should be that PvP and PvP have differences in gameplay, and this would result in different stat-needs. Just like it has been suggested in this thread. I also approve of the question, which non-WoW MMORPG with a dedicated PvP stat has thrived and survived? Never thought of it that way, but a good question it is. And it is a good perspective, seeing WoW as the exception to several rules, and therefore should not be used as the mould for everything in MMORPGs. Yes, there is plenty good in WoW, but the reason it is big is complex, and the PvP stat is probably not the most important factor.
  7. This is true. But as I wrote on another thread regarding the same issue. And has been stated here as well. Add a third faction. Underworld, or something. Then add imperial troopers and republic agents. Make smuglers choose between staying republic becoming agent, or going neutral. The same for BH. Bear in mind that I think they should have the same abilities though, only different animations (as the mirrors are today). In addition I could envision the following class additions: Republic noble, with one adv class DPS/CC-buff Imperial noble / officer, (based on grand moff tarkin) Underworld boss (story based on mafia movies). What about the "underworld" force users? I haven't an answer there, but if it is at all possible to implement Teras Käsi, then I am game Maybe warrior/knight could be underworld Teras Käsi, and the consular/inq could be underworld force witch or rogue nightsister? (not sure of how the lore is on this). Yes there are a lot of CC in this game, and to counter this adv CC-buff class, I think some CC abilities on the other classes should be somewhat nerfed, or removed completely... Making this would be an expansion. Also there would be some story issues, but I am sure BW can work around those (like having a special quest for smuglers/BH to make the transfer to a new class/new faction plausible).
  8. That I can understand. Though honestly, it isn't easy knowing which power-ups in the wz's that does what. So I can understand players going for them. I might even have done so myself, in the confusion. (No, I haven't reached 50 yet, only got two alts at 30-something).
  9. Yeah, but taking that also makes you not take it, which also is good (assuming you are of the opposite side, of course). Yes, they might not be getting that buff, but neither are you.
  10. One week? I am sure I just saw a thread just like that! Oh well...
  11. Now that would have been an interesting "what if" movie (or book or whatever). Dammit, I can't ever think I will shake this from my head now
  12. Disclaimer: I have stated in several threads that I enjoy swtor, and will resub. My experiece is such that the class quest does not move you around, and all world quests are just where the class quest brings you. To a degree it does, but there are several quests that make you take a detour, of variable lengths. And it is not always possible to gather all quests in area A, do them, go back go for area B, etc. Sometimes you just have to go back to area A. And it might even be that the class quest will bring you to area D (or something). Now this is all fine. It is how MMORPGs mainly is built. What makes me have an issue with it, is that I feel area A and area B is secluded areas. It is not so based on invisible walls, as some people argue, but due to visible walls. Canyons, mountains and the like. To me this makes me forced on a hole new level, and this I don't like. It is a world design I don't care for. That the world quest often (not always) is tedious boring, kill X, bring Y, does not make it better... Thank BW that the class quest mainly are great, I the crafting has promise, and I think PvP might be terrific (with some work). Had there only been even more focus on the class story, this game would have been even better!
  13. Hmm... What about using 20 minutes on the fastest speeder to get to "the village" (Aurellia)... And having to go back and forth to exchange experience? And doing the missions there every week (or how often did they change?) Those who did that know what I am talking about. And honestly, I kind of miss that. Too much grind, to be sure, but good times nevertheless... Edit: @Gridfire: I am not sure if all of your reply was aimed at me. If so, read my last line again.
  14. NO NO NO NO Swtor is NOT a sandbox game. Not in any way, shape or form. Not by any definition of the word! Swtor is a themepark. A linear themepark that leads you through all the areas and levels. It is the the MMORPG I have played that (until now) have given me the least feeling of being part of a persisten world, and having sandboxy features (possibly on par with GW, who said it was not an MMORPG - just an MMO). I am sure the sandboxy features will come (or at least may), but they aren't there. And it will never become a true sandbox game. I wish it was a sandbox, alas it is not. And yes, I enjoy swtor for what it is, and I will resub.
  15. Fair point, and I am not going to argue against it. I just want to explain why I wrote it. What I was trying to do is say that they have always indicated what kind of game it was to be. Even before announcement. And they gave that kind of game. Thus it should be no surprise what kind of game we got. I am not going to argue this to death. Thing is, I have been following this for quite some time, and I think they delivered what they always said they would. - with one exeption. Someone have said (can't remember who, or when) the game would have sandboxy features. So far I have yet to see those...
