  1. Aye, there is nothing perfect but 30 days really was my point as above pointed out on this practice being too long. Surely bioware/broadsword has a way of tracking currencies to avoid such .. embezzling... right...?? It just seems like we punish new players and new guilds plus new guildies with things as they are
  2. I think you missed the point, respectfully. I am looking to modify things not make excuses for why not. So let's change star fortresses, make them again a better part of conquest and with a repeatable weekly. As to them being long, well, I really disagree there. Can solo them in 15-20 min depending on stealth or gear, even faster with 3 ppl and a heal companion. So let's add rewards to them, add a reputation. Be creative, not defeatist. Your point on they "only" give certain credits directly emphasizes a need to revamp and modify or tweak it into a way that is relevant for an option. Bonus series are doable on weeks the planet is in conquest looks like for repeat. So the idea is to make them solo/group queueable or transport from activities menu, perhaps that wasn't clear. They were released years back to be continuations on story which is fine. But the content is there, let's engage it and make them a part of options to play. In general, in case it's just not clear. This thread is in hopes of making additions to the game that do not require massive time investments for the development team. Just some creative ideas to branch out and re-use with tweaks and modifications as to what is already in game. Thanks for your input @SteveTheCynic
  3. Good afternoon folks, hope things are well. I've been an off and on subscriber since launch and returning this March here are some suggestions that I hope will be seen by the right people to make some easy course corrections in player enjoyment within SWTOR: 1. Flashpoint Queues. Allow players to DE-SELECT say 10 flashpoints that they don't want to play that particular day/moment and STILL be eligible to receive bonuses for the conquest reward and weekly quest objectives with queueing for flashpoints. There are many excellent flashpoints forgotten as of 2024 by players because they are so readily used to the common appearances of lower or newer adventures. Give us some choices here, it'll be great! 2. Flashpoint conversations. I have wrapped my brain around this and why this isn't already apart of our modernizing MMO, and I bet some developers/designers have thought this as well: give teams an opportunity to avoid/skip/shrink story conversations in veteran+master queues. We have seen these and gone through the conversation archs several times. It is not that we don't like it, keep them as an option for story/solo versions of the instances, but good grief, we have folks leaving groups because of the anticipated and dreaded "somebody isn't going to skip these conversations and I don't feel like being dragged into a 60 hour incursion for a single flashpoint credit on my queue today" instance. Possible fixes: a) have a terminal at start of FP queue, 2 votes to NOT see story cutscenes means they will be skipped for that group's instance. I'd say majority wins, but let's be honest, we all know trolls who would delight in saying no or mis click just to aggravate some folks. b) Make a queue option click in the activity finder to skip conversations in queues and force folks to choose to see stories and not complain, or skip stories. Rationale: Many other MMORPGs who also have lore or stories built into their dungeons have emotes as players run into fights. This actual works to trigger muscle memory for character deployment for the fight. Further, we have things like this in the operation raids, so how about in 2024, let's roll this principle into our 4-man flashpoint dungeons. 3. Guild access The weekly lockout for newly-recruiting members makes sense and is defensible. However, what is the rationale behind 30-day guild bank lockout for newly invited members? I mean a GM can form a guild, have somebody help him bring in an alt, and the GM's alt will be on lockout in their own guild. I can see the reason for the similar weekly reset lockout like for conquest contributions, but lordy, 30-days, really? Did somebody typo "3" and make it "30?" Yes I know some have a point that, "well we don't want new invitees coming in and raiding our guild bank tabs and then leaving." So set up your guild vaults correctly folks! This is guild management 101 guild leaders. Be smart, organize, plan, and if you want (cuse it's your guild) be willing to change things later as your guild grows. 4. Existing game systems are prime for modification to add engagement. Space Guys, this game is Star War, and we don't do alot of stuff in the stars. Old 2d personal starship missions are retro-grade cool. Imagine if we had more of these or take these and require the grade 7/or new ship enhancements to launch into 2,3,4-man teams off guild ship or the gravestone and do heroic versions with coop goals and achievements. Heck, we could create an entire reputation or multiples of them to farm, new gear, modifications for our gravestone ships or shuttles. Heck even deploy our GSF ships INTO PVE space combat with solo or teams. We have these systems in SWTOR already, lets expand them guys, be creative here. Or heck give me a few weeks and I'll storyboard and map out ideas for it. But we can seriously use the existing 2d missions here if we don't want to invest heavily and add something wholly new. GSF additions and a PVE mode: As said previously, we can expand GSF with minimal effort. This game mode has a serious learning curve to casual folks and is inaccessible to many with disabilities or vision impairments. So what if we take our GSF ships into PVE solo or group matches with 10 minute timers. This wouldn't need to build up the same as the live pvp matches, but where we have LONGGGG queues for gsf matches, this could be filler and exceptionally-awesome training scenarios to get new folks into GSF. Secondly, how about some more domination maps? You guys got this, I know there is somebody who likes this game mode, let's make it better than other games casual space combat! Class-based incursions on bases and ships: We have alot of these missions in the class-specific stories, how about we start cycling these into conquest with time trials, kills, bonuses, reputations, military builds ups, whatever! Dungeon-like Experiences Uprisings/Star Fortresses: Guys, these were cool, but right now hardly any run them. A decision was made awhile back, maybe last year or year before, hard to remember exactly. But this decision determined that of all the weeklies in the game, star fortresses would only be available for conquest once per week. But there are 6 of them! And really, what your team did with these was pretty cool. Add some conquest achievements daily and weekly, bring these back, add or randomize things for like a "Rogue Star Fortress TK421" or something awesome that fans would love to see. In this have random boss encounters and hidden stuff like the original. Remember the old tactical flashpoints, lets do stuff like that. Create a randomized uprising also that has you deploy your squad into a training simulator that builds rep and rewards also that randomizes engagement. While we are talking about tactical flashpoints from...many years ago with the Kuat Drive stuff, how about we get some more of these! Think how cool it would be to just take mechanics we already know and recognize and randomly apply them to bosses and trash in short 3-4 boss encounters in random spots throughout the galaxy. We already know you guys do well with converting used stage settings for repeat encounters, but you make them unique so it isn't so obvious to first time players. Lets do more of this! Heck since we like stories and it makes our MMORPG of choice unique, I could even write you out some scenarios and emotes to have for these encounters to give hints as to the mechanics that are about to be unleashed on our heroes in squads. Companions Folks we have alot of these and we lost our specializing of them with good intention and reason. But what if we could develop up to 8 (since we can deploy 8 as subscribers on crew skill taks) to further specialize them how we use them. For instance, I like sending the ship droids to craft because they are alphabetically at the top of my list of companions lol, yes I know this is lazy, but I get those to 50 immediately every play through and new character I make. I bet others do this too! What if I could do a legendary set of tasks that bring in a boon/bonus/perk to these 2 companions to increase these aspects of the character: Combat Healing +5% efficiency/power/bonus whatever, Crew skills, health, damage in combat output. I am seeing several companions that when set to heal obviously match basic skills from the 3x healing specs in game. However, did you know some in same specs have greater #s on the same skill names than others? That seems inconsistent. Folks like choices and variety. So implementing a system like this could be further bolstered to add a conquest objective daily/weekly to do more with different companions. Yes we have one that calls for a companion on say tank...but we could be more specific. And add variety for that matter! Bonus quests from planets Some know there are bonus series quests, and from time to time these pop up as a low-conquest objective to complete one quest of it. How about we make these quests queue-able and repeatable. Add some variety and options out there for something new. Add time trials, gear cosmetics rewards, and other goodies. As mentioned earlier, bring back the class-missions in space stations and ships and make them solo repeatable or with group with different rewards and quests. Do you realize how many of us are long-time veterans of the game? These memories are awesome and we could relive them again and again with some incentive to play them. This would all add versatility, options, and engagement for your players. Heck, again, I'd be willing to storyboard or brainstorm ideas for story inclusions on these as long as we keep an option to skip cutscenes on higher difficulties Again, I hope this is read by folks in a position to lean on decision-makers. This game is so close to being amazing like it was at so many expansion and original launches. This is THE star wars mmo, and I feel the community deserves some cool additions and tweaks like these that really would not take a skilled design team long to rework and roll out. Remember guys, the community of SWTOR includes our friends in the development team.
  4. Keybindings still resetting at each load screen and scene. Have tried starting fresh and making new keybind, then saving. Signed back in and all reset to default also. Seems to have something to do with action bars 5 and 6, if I set no key bindings there, they remain between scenes. Odd. Area loot not working, have to turn it off, sign out, then back in and re-enable them to maintain consistent aoe and auto looting
  5. Aye merge these ideas developers, just give us some stuff with guild ships 2 + 4 man teams PVE space + merge in practice pve stuff for GSF or even super competitive, lets add some space stuff to the game darnit. BTW the above post is again akin to the guild summits from 2012-2014...they need to roll out already
  6. Star Wars is based in a galaxy a long time ago, far away right? I've been doing some casual reading with the new High Republic novels and some old xwing series books I found collecting dust. This got me to thinking about what Star Wars: The Old Republic was missing. Yes, we have Galactic Starfighter, which is fine & dandy. But wheres some of that old interaction with your personnel ship, the old hub of the game and your mode of travel through the galaxy?! Did you know we have players entering the game for the first time, and some older players none of which know about the space ship missions? When informed about them, a typical reply leans towards, "What is the point in doing them, they don't offer anything for 75 content nor even conquest except a once daily? They're right, but this is still part of the solo adventure and I'd like to see it brought into relevancy if possible. Here are some brainstormed ideas: 1. Conquest additions? Why not, we get conquest from accidentally sneezing on tython with new characters?! Perhaps a weekly randomly drawn challenge with 3 tiers to do the operation missions that involve multiple space missions, then let us do those on each character, don't hold it down to just once per legacy. This game is an ALT-CENTRIC game by far! Perhaps this would give cybertech crafters something to craft again with the grade 4-7 items they can make & sell on GTN. 2. Achievements added, let's get folks doing these even if casually. Get some Kills out there, maybe some without losing shields, maybe more bonus missions or tiered missions. 3. Multiplayer-it. Bad english I know, but I hope the point carries here. How about allowing groups of 4 to launch the same mission from guild ship and compete with each other over kills, objectives, npcs, HP/SHIELD left over. Put this into the conquest lineup too and lets make a weekly and daily quest to pick up with the fleet terminals for it. Perhaps also some new 2d space missions that allow groups to take their space ships into it and work together to beat things. 4. Multiplayer-it + merge with GSF. So hear me out on this. What if we could take our personal ship or the Gravestone ship once earned into a 4-person Space battle vs NPCs for PVE aims but also teach folks how to use their ships for GSF. Allow the use of our GSF ships with modest upgrades/earnings inside too so we can get more doing GSF matches. Anyways, I hope these ideas are found by the right crowd and given some thought. Star Wars the Old Republic is missing some end game stuff and guild-centric stuff in space all together from my perspective.
  7. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing more planets, but that's just one possible solution. I remember from the guild summits back in the first 2 years of the game's launch we discussed starfighter and guild conquest and several of the guild leaders presented an idea on tailoring the weekend differently than the weekdays so conquest picked up and being in the top 3 meant something more so those final 3 could duke it out with some added objectives planet-side-specific. Some of us still play the game from time to time, and it is rather disheartening that much of the early-game crowed-supported and sometimes crowd-created ideas that were put forward were never rolled out. Maybe a compromise in this thread would be a sort of randomization factor where a random 4-6 planets generally themed around the event would appear at different yield sizes. I'm sure you guys could figure that one out. Though, I'd still like to see more specific planet things populate the conquest points list of things to do for earning.
  8. You do realize you literally just said others were whining when I can't find many posts of yours that do anything but that. Have a nice day, all hail Darth Malgus!
  9. Chris and other developers who considered this issue: thank you. I regret that so many take things personally and exaggerate nonsense that is not in the best interest of the game, but I am quite happy things were taken seriously & with a good, balanced, and thoughtful mind. I very much look forward to seeing folks who craft useless things all day joining the rest of the population in content and gearing while engaging again with the community that actual play the game. I pray more and more continue to join the game and am very much looking forward to something spiffy this 10 year anniversary event. Don't let us down now! Conquer covid, conquer the galaxy! May the force be with you all, even those who just realized they need to do more in the game.
  10. Saying things are subscriber only and available for limited time is dangerous. Frankly I'd expect any reputable gaming company to avoid doing this, or offer double rewards or refunds or something equivalent to make up for their mistake. Capital games does this, and frankly EA does with other titles but I do not see that happening here. With changes to conquest, you've lost me bioware. Sadly, I think if this thread is even being read by somebody that matters: you've lost alot of us. From 2011 pre-release to March 2018 I have been subscribed. I am now looking at my robust bank, robust guild and community, several hundred hours, and other intangible gains from a star wars game I loved despite several setbacks along the way-especially in the past 18 months--and realizing I am playing a game that for some reason decided to commit suicide in a very public way. I hope whatever this next open world star wars game is that it learns from the mistakes of this game and turns into an mmorpg that star wars fans can enjoy and expect to compete with other major titles in the genre. I wonder if 6.0 is even a reasonable expectation or if it'll just be like the near past and release short stories with planets that are really enlarged strongholds in terms of size and scope each month to keep your subscription current. Shame on me for falling for it I guess, I just figured with the revival of star wars in novels and especially in Hollywood there would be motivation to bring more players into the game and make it fun for all. All the best bioware and swtor community.
  11. Confirmed here as well, have reinstalled directx 9.0c run times from june 2010, and updated graphics drivers to later WHQL nvidia 1080ti here if that matters
  12. I was able to address this in most circumstances by increasing frame rate in the general graphics to 120, i reasoned the game was occasionally dropping fps to 30 which was half of what i was setting it to with 60 as a glitch so sure enough putting it at 120 ive stayed at vertical sync 60 without hesitation except on major graphic places. 1080 ti, i5 7500k
  13. So I've been gone from the game for 2 weeks with a busy schedule. But I sign in today and supercharge on my mercenary no longer appear in buffs. I have treid in both dps specs and in heal spec now, none of them have supercharge stacks showing up. Is this an intended nerf on mercenaries or is it just my merc is affected?
  14. Damn this game got popular!!! This is great! But wait...
  15. Same here, started at 21, changed a diaper, returned to computer, and down at 39 and # is only increasing.
