  1. Personal experience, ignore if you want. Back in WoW before the dungeon finder (Vanilla), it was extremely easy to find a group, and I made quite a few e-friends that way. All you had to do was use the current tools that were already implemented. It really isn't so bad to scroll down the list of a /who 50 or a /who #-# and whisper them. Even if people turn you down, you at least "talk" to them. They may say, "Oh. I have to go do something for like 35 minutes, but if you're looking for someone after that, I'll definitely be down." Bam, back-up plan. Now you're more likely to talk to them again because you'll remember they'll be on once you're down with the other fp. I will give that it IS convenient, but it is something not entirely necessary. I wouldn't not use the LFG tool if it were implemented-- that would just be stupid. But realize that it "does" stifle communication. And more often than not, a LFG made group turns into, "CC arrow" "Boss does ..." And never a, "Hey, this was a great time. Why don't you msg me later if you're looking for another DPS/Tank/Healer. My alt's name is [this]". By greeting them first in /whispers I've been more open, I've talked to them a bit more about something they're doing if they need to afk for 5 mins before an invite, etc. TL;DR Implement it if you want, but they "are" justified when talking about dungeon finder ruining a community. It really isn't that hard to /who for 5 minutes.
  2. Naw, I've had to reset my quests a couple of times to clear a few bugs-- (or if I hit the wrong key during dialogue that made me kill something I didn't want).
  3. Slightly unrelated, but I just wanted to point this out. When you hit reset on a quest, it will not force you to redo the whole quest length, but rather, the most recent portion of the quest you were on. There are flags that toggle when you complete certain objectives. By resetting your quest, you clear the progress of the flag you are currently working on. Nothing more.

  6. With all the negativity, it just feels as though we all need to take a moment to breathe and understand the amount of effort that everyone put into making this game. I, like some of your player base, have slight graphical issues, the occasional bug that causes a blood vessel to almost pop, problems with the user-interface, etc. etc. But I've experienced worse releases and can honestly say that I'm enjoying the story, the gameplay, and the other 90% of things I can't list off the top of my head. I see you squashing the small important bugs and working on the complex ones, releasing patches weekly (even during such a major holiday as this) and can't wait to see the patch notes for the upcoming weeks. Thanks for taking the time to release something enjoyable.
  7. I can think of a lot of orange armors that are similar from synthweaving- not the same coloring however. If anything, this should at least tell you there's something out there.
  8. Now that there are people getting to 50 and doing dailies, the money should start to circulate...
  9. Moddable gear does not beat out crafted gear, though not by much until the later tiers. I've noticed it as 400 synthweaving. If companions are also outfitted with moddable pieces, all the commendations from leveling won't be enough for both the companion and player's armor to be top-tier. Sooner or later, crafted pieces will win out. It would help, though, if BioWare did something aside from crit-crafting to make other crafting professions a bit more up to par with people who use the same orange piece of gear the whole time.
  10. I played 0/25/16. Enjoyed it immensely more than full TK, and felt I was leveling faster with the hybridized version. TBH, I think the TK tree's turbulence shines more with better gear-- but I never enjoyed its playstyle. PoM -> TK Wave >>> Spamming Disturbance for Tidal Force -> TK Wave
  11. Good post if you're dealing with PvE. Coming from a Paladin healer in WoW (excuse the comparison) its a hard concept to switch to. I've always been of the mindset that Crit is a necessity for PvP due to the lack of consistent healing one can do. If you want to heal you have to heal hard and move on.

    To each their own.. How is it wrong, though? While it's too soon to get decent numbers, the build is working excellently for me. Rather than state it is completely wrong, I would rather know some information as to the reasoning? If it's [worthless] numbers you want, I've topped damage charts with upwards of 300k+ damage in most warzones. It's a learning experience for myself, and while I've tried both builds- I have seen consistantly more damage and better burst with 2/23/16...

    For PvP/PvE damage, I use variations of this build I came up with... http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600bZbsbMdRrhZcMcRs0z.1 Don't pigeon-hole yourself fully into one tree. Sometimes 0/25/16 or 0/23/18. Depends on what you want with those two extra points. While DoTs are great to maintain mobility, You'll still be using Telekinetic Throw as filler for your other abilities. Using PoM with harder hitting ones like T.Wave, while maintaining your Weaken Mind Procs just makes you able to sustain burst a bit better... Use of Force in Balance as a good damage ability around corners when players LoS you makes it hard for others to run, and allows you a chance to finish people off easily with a good instant burst.
  14. There are stations on the left and right side of the doorway if I recall correctly. These stations allow you to take less damage from mobs for the duration. If you're like me, you won't have noticed them until you cleared the room except for the last. Noticed a huge impact when I used it though. Hope it helps.
