  1. I would very much like solo ranked WZs but not for ranked WZ commendations. I wouldn't care if they just replaced solo WZs with some kind of ranked system with the same rewards. Sure there should be more prestige and better rewards for premade groups that excell at teamwork, communication and overall skill in PVP matches. To me ranked solo WZs would be about reducing the chance of grotesquely mismatched teams or the chance that a team has members whose gear or skill level means that they are unable to contribute to the team effort. And honestly it would probably really help out people who aren't great players. If someone's only victories have come from better players carrying them through matches then they're not learning anything. If they can survive for longer in the match then they can start to get a grasp on techniques and strategies that will make them better players. Hopefully this is something that we will see in the future.
  2. I can only speak of my own experiences, but I have to say CS has been amazing. I've not had many problems playing the game, but every time CS has promptly and politely solved the issue. I really couldn't have asked for better service in the situations where it has been required.
  3. When I was leveling up my main I pretty much never attacked other players. Mind you I was also on a dead server so I might have seen like 4 imps in the wild the entire time anyway. I leveled up exclusively with my housemate so there were always two of us. Neither of us are much into alts so we played pretty much all the content because we enjoyed the story and so we were horrendously overlevelled for the area. To me it seemed a waste of time to 2v1 another player when we both had a significant level advantage over them. Plus on a dead server, other players were like an endangered species or something. I don't have problems attacking other 50s in Black Hole or Ilum though.
  4. I thought that a faction swap was a cool idea when races were faction restricted. Now that they're not I don't see any mechanical advantages to it. We're not restricted to a single faction on a server, so it's easy to just create a new character. You can get a character to level 50 fairly quickly though if you've got a significant amount of end game gear that could take a decent amount of time. It might mess up companions story and affection and it would probably be weird jumping into the middle/end of another classes story. I don't really think it would help with faction imbalance. Unfortunately us pubs are just not cool enough That being said though it would be kinda cool if they did a little story for swapping like the disillusioned trooper gives up on the republic and becomes a soldier for hire or the Sith Lord turns away from the dark side of the force and in the process joins the republic. Could probably do LS/DS variations so that it made sense with the players alignment though.
  5. Actually my understanding of the RMAH was that it was to prevent gold farmers. If selling items for real currency is going to happen, might as well happen in an environment that you can control, so that no one is getting scammed or robbed. Probably doesn't hurt that they take a cut of the profits but since it's their work people are buying and since they actually have to host the AH, it's certainly fair. Should also be noted that they have an AH that uses in game currency and that players can aquire the items without purchasing them from either AH. Nor was the RMAH available at launch. While it would be naive to assume that everybody is a good person that just wants to make everyone happy for nothing in return, I feel that it is equally unlikely that everyone is a sociapath who wants to exploit everyone possible.
  6. Well actually I meant that they should go back to closing topics that have been said over and over again and those that have no discussion value rather than banning you. This topic isn't constructive criticism, it isn't a realistic proposition and it only has a vague relation to SWTOR. I don't have any particular fondness for EA. There's many aspects of their operations that I disagree with from marketing to DRM. I am in no way saying that I think EA is great. What I am saying is that I don't think that all the blame can be placed on EA. There's significant overlap between making a good game and making a profitable game, even if you think that EA are soulless monsters who don't care about products they're involved in, I'd venture to say that making good games is a high priority for EA. Bioware have an extraordinary amount of good will, one stunning title later and everyone will forget that they didn't like Dragon Age II as much as Origins or that Mass Effect 3 had a lousy ending. Just like how they like to forget that it was Bioware that made that Sonic game
  7. I think your giving EA far too much credit. Bioware releases a couple of standard games (not BAD, mind you) and it can't be their own doing? It would hardly be the first time that a company known for great games didn't go on to create fantastic games for ever and ever. You know, the same way your not going to like every song by the same band, or how your not going to like every TV series from the same writer. It just happens that sometimes even those known for excellence are not going to get it perfect every time. Also remember that Sonic game they made? (BEFORE EA) BW, please for the love of GOD... bring back forum moderation and stop allowing people to go on hate mongering.
  8. I liked the female consulars voice. It seems a lot of the time that you need to watch out for the top dialogue option because rather than say something practical like the option suggests, the character comes out with some force nonsense that seems extremely unhelpful in the given situation. Not sure if males experience the same thing, I always assumed that the lines would be given the same between different genders of the same class. Iresso as a romance option isn't that interesting. He starts out boring then turns out to be creepy. But boring creepy. I've not played a male consular so I can't tell you much about the Nadia romance. Her character in general seems pretty child-like. That combined with the mentor role that you take with her makes her seem like an unattractive romance option to me, but then like I said, I haven't played the romance so I don't really know.
  9. No. When this game goes F2P most new subscribers are going to probably try F2P first. If everyone is a jerk to F2P players, they won't want to subscribe. In case you didn't know, more subscription numbers is good for the longevity of SWTOR, if not for the frequency and abundance of new content.
  10. This. Not saying they don't have bad customer service just that user reported statistics of this nature tend not to be very reliable. At any rate, regardless of what is EA's fault, I'm sure they care about this game. You know since there's a pretty significant overlap between making a "good" game and making a profitable game. I'm also sure that regardless of whether you like, are ambivalent to, or hate EA that you believe that they want to make a profitable game.
  11. I wouldn't rule it out though. I know a number of people who "Don't play WoW" which is true most of the time. Then when an expansion comes out they're resubbed and at the midnight launch. I mean, I'm figuring that drawing old players back into the game has to be most of the logic behind releasing expansions.
  12. No bad idea. Putting F2P players on the same server as P2P will be better for sub numbers. That way they can see the benefits of P2P by observing the P2P players. Also it means that people who are P2P can play with their F2P friends. Sub numbers is good for everybody because player population is what makes an MMO fun. KS is annoying but since this is happening already then obviously it's not the right solution.
  13. Yeah it does seem to be denying the F2P part since that was the main topic of the post but in reality for all we know he could have been talking about the blaming the players because we wanted it to be like a single player game rather than like an MMO part. Or that SWG was shut down to destroy the competition for SWTOR part. Or that legacy was made so expensive for F2P model. Or the individual cost of things. Or many of the above. Or some other part. Bold move though if an employee made a post inspiring antipathy and hate towards the company that he works for. And by bold I mean, stupid. Unless he was actually recently laid off, or knew that he would be laid off, in which case just juvenile. Since it's unverified that he is actually an employee that information in no more useful to players than the speculation that goes on in the forums. I mean most of that information wasn't anything that some one on the forums had speculated previously anyway.
  14. Yup, I'm happy. It's hardly the most innovative game in MMO history but I'm still here and having fun. I have a few concerns with F2P (I've never played LOTRO or any other F2P model that wasn't P2W) but I'm willing to just see how it goes for now.
  15. HOPEFULLY, if this move actually encourages more people to subscribe to the game AND maintain a fairly steady subscription rate then we'll be okay. I know that if it comes down to me having to pay more than my subscription fee to play certain content/be competitive then I'll happily not be competitive, not play certain content and also not pay anything at all. If I'm guaranteed to lose, I might as well be guaranteed to lose for free. I'm willing to give this a shot. I mean I'd far prefer for it to stay subscription based but seeing as that's not going to happen, I'll stick around and see what happens. This could be a good thing right?
