  1. I searched for forum rules concerning off-topic threads, but I didn't find any, so I was hoping this would be okay. It doesn't seem like that many people were bored/nice enough to help out anyways. Thanks to all who posted. =) I appreciate it!
  2. lol Alec, that was great! Yes, we're looking for blurbs like that which emphasize the two different aspects of an object. Actually, there is no hidden motive here. I was being truthful. =) This particular project would have to do with priming (exposing people to a particular idea and seeing how that influences their speed in decision-making on certain tasks afterwards). My professor did muse about studying gamers. There has been some evidence about how gaming increases cognitive speed, but unfortunately, there may be a self-selection bias to studies on gamers (e.g. people who are faster cognitively might choose to be gamers because they are better at it.)
  3. Greetings! This thread off-topic from SWTOR. I am currently a graduate student training to be a researcher, and the lab that I work in currently is in need of some creative material. I was requested by my professor to reach out to my gaming communities for help with this, so if you happen to be bored and feel like assisting us, here is a mini-mission for you. Your task is to write short paragraphs like the two below. They are both about honey but one of them is more about honey being sticky than about honey being sweet, and the other is just the reverse. When you write a pair of paragraphs, they both must mention the target word (e.g. honey). One paragraph must make a reader think about one aspect of the target word (e.g. sweet) and the other paragraph must make a reader think about a different aspect (e.g. sticky). The paragraphs should be 2 to 5 sentences in length. Here is another example pair: If you decide to write something for us, then thank you very much! Please let me know if you have any questions.
  4. http://i.imgur.com/d5bsN.jpg I had eight level 50s quite awhile ago, and I haven't been playing SWTOR since then... Leveling alts and PvPing are what I like best, so when I ran out of character space on my server, I stopped playing. With every crew skill covered, ~65 million credits, and every legacy perk purchased, rerolling on another server just seemed very distasteful. I would gladly pay for more character slots and come back to SWTOR. I've been an avid gamer (Starcraft, Diablo, Warcraft, Ragnarok Online, Allods Online, etc) for about a decade now, and SWTOR has been the highest quality game that I've played. Please take my money and give me more character slots. <3
  5. That is a fairly lame and unhelpful reply to this issue. The GTN on my server is sparse. I think only a couple of people (myself included) are really active and providing people with what they want. People complain that they often don't find what they need on the GTN, because it's just not there. I vendor a lot of low level greens, schematics, and materials that other people could use because I would rather save my precious GTN spots for all the augmented gear I craft. I have 4 characters on Imperial side (another 4 on republic side for the GTN there) and even with 50 items per character, I still reach the limit. Why *not* let people put as much up as they want? The closest thing I can think of is WoW, where people could put up as many items as they wanted (at least I never found a limit)... the market was thriving and I could almost always buy whatever I wanted. Supply and demand was in effect nicely, so that if I ever needed something, I could buy it for a fair price. Right now, there are so few items on the GTN, sellers (myself included) could charge really high prices and get away with it because the supply of items on the GTN is restricted. I vendor all sorts of greens, blues, schematics, and materials that could potentially be useful to other people because I would rather use my precious GTN slots for items of higher value. This is a loss for both buyers and sellers. When I'm on my alt trying to find gear for my companions, I'm lucky to find a couple of decent greens. I stopped putting up stims, because it took up too much space, and I would rather put up items that I make more of a profit on. Two of my friends already complained to me that they can't get stims anymore because I was the only one that ever put any on the GTN. With these small population servers, if you raised/removed the GTN item limit, people could buy more of what they may want. For the sake of a more lively market, please increase the auction limit.
  6. I hit the 50 item limit very easily. In fact, I have 4 characters on Imperial side (another 4 on republic side for the GTN there) and even with 50 items per character, I still reach the limit. And the GTNs on our servers are very bare. People complain that they often don't find what they need on the GTN, because it's just not there. I vendor a lot of low level greens, schematics, and materials that other people could use because I would rather save my precious GTN spots for all the augmented gear I craft. If you want me to list the items I put up (like was asked of the OP), here are some of the items I post: One full set of augmented Battlemaster Force-Mystic gear (5 items) One full set of augmented Battlemaster Stalker gear (5 items) One full set of augmented Battlemaster Vindicator gear (5 items) One full set of augmented Battlemaster Weaponmaster gear (5 items) One full set of augmented War Hero Force-Mystic gear (5 items) One full set of augmented War Hero Stalker gear (5 items) One full set of augmented War Hero Vindicator gear (5 items) One full set of augmented War Hero Weaponmaster gear (5 items) One full set of augmented Battlemaster Combat Tech gear (5 items) One full set of augmented Battlemaster Enforcer gear (5 items) Various augmented pieces of other PvP sets (~6 items) Various pieces of augmented low level synthweaving gear (~10 items) One Advanced Might Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Resolve Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Skill Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Reflex Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Overkill Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Surge Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Critical Augment 22 (1 item) One Advanced Fortitude Augment 22 (1 item) Two or three of the previously listed augments, but the prototype versions which are cheaper (~16-24 items) One stack of each grade of Slicing materials (6 items) Some amount [24] of each ingredient to make the level 48 stims (4 items) ~5 single stacks of each type of prototype companion gift (~50 items) One 10 stack of each type of prototype companion gift (~10 items) ~4 single stacks of each type of artifact companion gift (~40 items) I stopped putting up stims, because it took up too much space, and I would rather put up items that I make more of a profit on. Two of my friends already complained to me that they can't get stims anymore because I was the only one that ever put any on the GTN. With these small population servers, if you raised/removed the GTN item limit, people could buy more of what they may want.
  7. Will item modifications (armoring, mods, enhancements, augments, etc) ever stack? They seem to take up an excessive amount of space, and trying to put a good selection of item mods in guild banks is practically impossible right now. [ Sorry if this question has been asked before. ]
  8. Thank you! That's so good to know! So this will be in 1.2 as well then?
  9. It's so frustrating to be in the middle of a Warzone and then a companion suddenly covers up a large portion of the screen because they're back from a mission. Can't they leave you alone if you're in a warzone (maybe an option in preferences to turn this on)? It's also frustrating to be looking for something on the GTN and then suddenly, the GTN window closes because a companion came back. Or when I'm placing something in my cargo bay, and then suddenly, my inventory window closes because a companion came back. I apologize if this issue has already been addressed. I've just been irked so many times by this feature of the game. ><
