  1. What to do at level 55, that is my ongoing dilemna. When the game first came out I leveled up to 50 on each side, did a bunch of dailies, some HM's, etc but got bored of all that. The problem was I could not face leveling up another character with the same old missions over again. So I unsubscribed. I recently came back with the double XP weekends and leveled up a brand new character, bought the expansion and finally hit level 55. I did dailies for a week, a couple HMs and weas very quickly bored with that. I decided to level up a healer, which I have yet to play in this game. I got to about level 25 and I just cannot log in anymore and do the same quests on the same planets again. Also, I hated Makeb and have no interest in leveling up my two 50's to 55. I'm starting to dread playing again. I cancelled my sub a couple weeks ago and it runs out on June 6 I believe. It makes me sad both time to cancel because I really, REALLY enjoy the 1-50 part of the game and there is no other MMO out that I like. If Bioware would create alternate leveling experiences, on alternate planets, or even just other parts of the same planets, that would be huge for me! None of them even have to be voice acted. I can read text. Just give me new missions to level up, please!!!
  2. Semantics. I used my time on something that turned out to be a waste, which the company could have easily avoided by having the initial contact tell me that after hours of questing, I'll need to try and form a group of 4 that nobody is really willing to do, especially when my playing time is limited to 30-45 minutes.
  3. I feel like Bioware really screwed me over here. I spent countless hours going from planet to planet and was really engaged in the little story and puzzles only to have an H4 thrown at me out of the blue? I had unsubscribed about a week earlier and this quest line had me about to resubscribe for another month or two at least because I was having fun again. Regardless of whether I can find a team or not (not, fyi), of if the mission is fun or not (idk, haven't been able to run it) you simply cannot tack an H4 on to the end of an extremely long solo chain of missions. You just wasted hours of my time. I understand time sinks in MMO's, but this one lost you a customer.
  4. I didn't try the seeker missions, but I was loving the binocular set of missions and just when I was ready for the big payoff, a completely solo story arc ends with an H4? That was so disappointing. I have wasted a ton of time finding all those little devices across every planet and now I have to figure out how to get a team together to complete this thing? I am a solo player and there should have been some kind of warning that a team would be needed to complete this mission.
  5. I feel like I get excellent value for my $15/mo. I have not spent a dollar on coins, and probably won't. I wouldn't rule it out but my monthly free coins have been more than enough. I have bought everything I want and still have close 700 coins left. But I don't feel particularly valued as a customer. That is OK though. That happens to me most of the time. If I buy gas, or a soda from a gas station I usually don't feel valued. When I go grocery shopping I don't feel valued. My insurance guy treats me great though and really makes an effort to make me feel valued as his customer. Same with a couple local restaurants I frequent. It is OK if I don't feel valued as a customer. I will still shop there if the price to product value is there. I won't have any loyalty to them though, and that is how it is with this game. I am not particularly attached to it. I have plenty of fun playing and my $15/mo is a great value, but the second I don't feel that way, I'll unsubscribe. In fact, I did unsubscribe for about 7 months. I came back a few months ago and I am having fun, but I'll quickly get burned out. In a different MMO I used to play, I would get burned out and not play for several months, but I would keep my subscription because I felt like the company really appreciated their customers. I even used their pay store and spent money above my subscription over there.
  6. Also, is there a list of all the possible colors you can get?
  7. I have not purchased or used a dye pack yet, but I had a quick question. If I am a low level 15 and I use a dye pack but then later find better armor pieces, do I just loose the dye pack I used when I replace the armor? In other words, should I only be using the dye packs on chest pieces that I plan on keeping for a very, very long time?
  8. It happens to me so much that I just figure it is the accepted practice of this game, so I do it all the time now. I don't steal chests, but any mission objectives I will just run in and take. You can put me on the list.
  9. I unsubscribed about 4 hours before the F2P announcement, so that had nothing to do with it. I've never played any of the more popular MMOs out there. This is only the 2nd one I've ever played, so I am not comparing it to anything really. Here are my main reasons: 1) End game stuff is just not that fun for me. I enjoyed doing the dailies at first, but it didn't take long for those to get boring. I also enjoyed doing the Hard modes at first, but I soon realized without much gear the higher level ones were impossible and running the lower level ones got very boring after 3 or 4 runs. Which brings me to.... 2) Gear. I dislike the fact that I run HM's to get better gear so I can...run HMs. There should be alternative ways to gear up, or improve your stats without gear. I know this is pretty vague and I don't have many ideas, except for this one.... 3) Crafting. I hate it the way it is done. Again, I don't have a suggestion for making it better, but it would be nice if there was a method to get all the best gear through crafting in a fun way. It came to the point that all my toons just had slicing and some other similar skills. 4) Character customization. It is pretty bad in this game. The face and hair options are so limited. You can never change them. Your clothes are determined by your gear. Why does it have to be this way. The character creator can be a game upon itself. You should be able to customize your toon from head to toe, regardless of what gear you have. And you should be able to change your look after creation if you want (even if there are limits like you can't change species). 5) Since the level 50 stuff was not doing it for me, then the leveling process with alts better do it for me if I am going to stick around. My first 50 on imp and my first 50 rep were great fun. My attempts to do it on another character were not. The main stories are just great, but they are such a tiny percentage of what you have to do to level. The rest is a complete repeat of what I did on another toon. There are no alternative leveling options, well except for.... 6) General teaming while leveling. And this would be fun if it existed. But it doesn't. PUGs are non-existant. Friends are at different levels and there is no feature in this game to team with different level players that makes sense. But wait, I can check my friends list to see what they are up to and talk to them, oh wait..... 7) My friends are character specific? What in the hell??? Why am I not global friends with my friends???? I can't even comprehend this one. 8) As others have said, the game is on rails. I go from point A to B to C, go to next planet and repeat. I love when I stumble upon an 'Area Quest' spot. They are so few and far between though. Perhaps space combat would be more wide open..... 9) No, it is not. The missions are on rails. And even if that didn't bother me, they are dumb and not fun. 10) Some other general things: Load times, No mount in certain buildings and areas. Waiting for lifts. Lack of community. I'll stop here. I loved this game, and I mean loved it, up until about mid-July. I couldn't wait to log in and play countless hours. Then almost all at once, I actually dreaded logging in. It quickly felt like a chore to play and when that happens, I'm done. I don't get into all the doom and gloom that was going on around here. I don't care how it compares to other games. I don't care what other people thought. I was having a really great time, so I subscribed. When that stopped, I cancelled. And it was sad when I cancelled.
  10. As I was reading this it occured to me that City of Heroes does, or tries to do, almost all of this. 1. They have servers, but only about 12. They have had these same servers since day one. 2. There is no trinity. You can put together a team of anything and 95% of the time it is both fun and the content is doable. In fact, tanks are somewhat rare. People play brutes and scrappers which is like a DPS/tank combined. Pure healers are fairly rare. People play defenders or controllers. Many power sets have a self heal. 3. Yes, they have Heroes and Villains, but you can redeem your villlain and become a hero. Your hero can fall from glory and become a villain. Best of all, you can also play in the gray area and play both sides at once (going rogue or vigilante). So, two sides, but all intermingled. Now granted, their PvP is completely non existent. 4. Obviously they have levels, but with their super-sidekick system, you can team with anybody, at any level, and everyone will be about equally powerful. You can have a team of levels: 1, 10, 20, 26, 33, 38, 50, 50 and run level 50 or level 10 content. Everyone will get XP that is level appropriate for them. It is a magnificent system, perhaps the greatest MMO idea ever. Why it is not copied in every game I have no idea. 5. They didn't have all this at launch, but have added it all in their 7 years. The player base has slowly shrunk. They do have a loyal following of probably 75K-100K, but it is niche. I thought I would be there until the servers shut down, but I left too. 6. They went free to play so I'm not sure how profitable it was, but they do seem to be on solid ground at this point in time.
  11. I play mainly solo. I do like to group for Heroics and whatever, but most of the time it becomes more of a hassle than anything else. Sometimes I am on the clear other side of the planet. sometimes I'm in the middle of a mission. Sometimes I am teamed and it takes forever for my teammates to get to the correct starting area. Sometimes people quit midway through a heroic. This might be better of for the suggestions forum, but how I wish we could have 2 or 3 different companions out at the same time for heroics and FPs. That would be the greatest thing ever!
  12. I just hit level 39 on my smuggler last night and I realized that by companion is severely under-geared. Most of his stuff is listed as level 20-something. I've noticed he takes a real beating even against 3 minions at this point. (I'm using Corso right now). I don't have many planet commendations to buy stuff but I have a decent amount of money. I would like to spend some of it and give my companion come nice gear upgrades. Green and blue stuff is more than fine for me. The problem is, I have no idea where to buy it. There were 2 OK items on the GTN, but suppose I don't want to use that. Is there a vendor somewhere that I can use to gear up? Some guys on fleet said to get pvp gear, but the only stuff I saw was either level 50 pvp gear or stuff I buy with pvp commendations. I just want to spend credits and buy some simple level appropriate gear. Thanks for any help or advice.
  13. If you are actually leaving, can I have all your stuff?
  14. I play on one of the most heavily populated servers and there were 50 people on Alderan last night. It took the better part of an hour to get a team together and do one of the Heroic 4's. And it is a short one. It takes 10 minutes to complete. I wish there was more incentive to do these so people would be more apt to team. Maybe double the XP?? Triple it? I love that you don't have to team to make your way from 1-50, but I really wish there was a good reason to team on your way from 1-50, if that makes sense. I also wish that you didn't need specific roles on your team. You should be able to gather any 4 players of an appropriate level and have a good chance to succeed. That is a rant for another thread though, I suppose.
