  1. I agree to that, was pvp tank as well. The NORSE build is better, it is either that or go full dps pvp with Pyrotech. But if it is lockdown you look for take The AP:NORSE build since it emphasizes on snares/roots etc. Someone else posted a topic about it today, or check out Taugrim's posts.
  2. I do dps in between when fights are quick and not heavy like mobs in HM's. On bosses it depends, if healing goes smoothly and the tank is not getting too much spike dmg I do use shocks and FL, even CD in between. Sometimes I notice my healing is heavy on the force and I use consumption a lot. That's my hint to stop using dps because we're not specced into it and the forcecosts are too heavy. If you repeat doing HM's/ops you get the hang of it.
  3. I thought they both had the same skillsets but only different names and CD's. I noticed Xalek gets heals from that Consuming Essence skill but I think you mean the tanking stance that gives him HP when an ememy is killed. I am a fan of Xalek, looks, my apprentice, and he tanks pretty well, and shares gear. Khem has been my trustfull companion from day 1 also. It is all a matter of flavor.
  4. I noticed it yesterday! I did 2 dark infusions with the 1,5 sec casting time. I tried to get it back but I waved if off as a casting error. I will try this moar
  5. It depends, Assembly Line is not on a high lvl planet, so it could be that the tank is still learning how to use all his assets, but imo and for the sake of the whole group, if you give someone pointers and they still screw up and you feel like you have given it a chance and enough time (let's say about 4 or 5 screwups max) replace the tank or leave the group and find another one. Should be pretty clear for a tank to a)hold aggro, b) prevent breaking cc, meaning no use of aoe other than taunts, c) listen and work together with the healer. Also meaning to use every skill available to reduce incoming dmg, like medkits etc.
  6. First, mark your question with Spoiler alert because some people are not aware of who they will kill . It is not a major one though like class related stories. I heard more people about it, but it should be quite easy. The area with the big bridge thingy where you can do a Heroic quest is the map you want to look for, then you just walk on the path on the most northeast side of the map untill you get to a platform with a shuttle on it. Click on the door and it will take you to a seperate map.
  7. I use a lot of the guidelines I see here, only problem I run into is that ranged mobs often attack me, even when I let the tank take the initial attack and soon after I Static Barrier and Resurgence mobs turn to me. I did ask if anyone can taunt or get the mobs off of me but sometimes it looks they don't even notice and I end up casting Static and resurgence on myself instead of the tank. I try to use Cloud Mind to reduce threat but I am under the impression this skill doesn't even work or worthwhile to use. Also another question is, I refresh resurgence a lot just for the Force-bending proc, even when it has not wore off yet. Is this bad? Or does every healer use the advantage? I never run OoF much because of it.
  8. I am corruption specced, I start off shielding Khem and throwing a Resurgence on him so when the shield drops his armor rating is up because of the Reconstruct talent. Just gives him a nice boost there. Electrocute i use to either stun a 2nd mob or w/e it is off cooldown since it is a few seconds of not giving dmg to Khem. When I know mobs do attacks that can be interrupted I save Electrocute. After Khem is shielded and Resurged I cast Crushing Darkness and Affliction on the strongest mob (most of the time the one Khem tanks). So basically it is: On Khem: Shield Barrier, Resurgence, Crushing Darkness, Affliction, FL, both interupts when applicable and needed and repeat. 2nd time I use shield and resurgence on Khem I use Dark Infusion because of the -1 sec casttime to get his health up, or just leave that out when his HP is going to be full of Resurgence.
  9. I thought when partied or in a FP Sprint applied to all members?!?
  10. I took Biochem.Bioanalysis/Diplomacy. Lots of good stims, medpacks for both me and companion healing and Implants. I use this site as a guide on how to lvl my biochem and it lists what Bioanalysis missions to take for the required mats. http://www.starwarstor-guides.com/biochem.htm
  11. Running out of Force and dying maybe a few times more is always considered downtime which could be spend killing mobs or finishing quests faster. It's all about management, the person who plays must understand how to manage his resources and that can be the difference in wasting time dying often or excelling in lvling. I am full heal specced, I get invited in groups a lot, on my server there seems to be some lack of heal specced sorcerers and often after the group is done people put me in friends list so i get invites to FP's/HC's between questing. That's one of the plussides of being healer.
  12. Depends on what you like, there is a nice explanation on crew skills in the Sith Sorcerer Codex. I myself took Biochem/Bioanalysis/Dimplomacy because I like to make Willpower implants and nice Willpower stims, also the healing myself and companion combi medpacks and sometimes with a HoT are very nice. It is fairly easy to lvl also, I found a nice website which explains how to lvl from 1 to 400 and what to make, but at work and don't have the link in my favourites, and it also tells you what missions get you those materials. There is good money to make from it, although I find myself running low on money because talents are expensive. If you just want money you can take Archeology/Slicing/Salvaging and sell stuff. I tried some synthweaving during beta but I don't like the end purple gear you can make from it, it seems operations offer much better gear. In the end it basically is just Synthweaving and Biochem we benefit most from.
  13. I love to try out this build, but something bugs me. I am mainly a healer, i have been asked for heroics and FP's a lot and to test out this build I have to reset my talents. That can be a costly thing because eventually you pay more credits for resetting. So basically I have to make a choice, do i want to play this awesome dps build and storm to lvl 50, or should I lvl through my healing build by doing FP's, heroics and quests? I really wish we get a dual talent option later on so you can easily change roles. Or they should make the reset trainer free.
  14. I totally agree with the poster above me (sorry forgot to quote). I just started in the starters area and found a green armor that looks better than what I had before during Beta weekends (and I got to lvl 24) just from a monster drop. it had shoulderpads sticking out as well. i am not too worried.
  15. I think it is just another troll from someone disappointed to get in when they preordered and something about the way SWTOR communicated the early access for preordering.
