Can someone link me to a post about the gearing system now days? I'm mainly a PvP guy...

Looking for Ops group, as the title states. Level 246 gear with set bonus, DPS Carnage Sith Warrior. iGN Tornadius.

All, Returning player here. Currently a Sith Warrior (Carnage) DPS spec... I have 246 gear (GTN bought) with a set bonus from my 208's. I'm in the EST time zone, but on at different times. Looking for a good guild with Discord and a guild that's willing to run me through some Ops HM To get geared up. I love PvP mostly, but will do PvE too. Used to run a guild on Swg. Just need reacquainted with the game. Prefer guild to have Discord. Something semi organized, yet fun. My IGN is Tornadius. Msg here, or in game. Currently in a guild, but not sure they do what I'm after. Thanks!

Actually super helpful. Thanks everyone for the input. With that said, one more question... What's this I'm hearing about gear being able to be used on alts? If you have a set of 248, it's legacy? If so, I actually don't mind that. I don't like to completely grind every single alt, but I do like to play a different class here and there. I enjoy PvP mainly, I know the rotations so it's all fun minus the grind (to me.)

Quick question. Reading about the new 248 gear and the ways to get it... How long is it taking PvPer's to get a full set of 248 on average? If you go the HM route while coming PvP, how much time should one expect to put in to gear out? I left with 208's... Thanks.

Greetings SWTOR fans, Returning to the game from BETA / Launch Date. I've only ever given SWTOR about one week of my time, but I've returned and intend to give the game a little more attention. Anyways, to the point...! I have a level 18 Bounty Hunter ATM, which was set to MERC...a friend and guild mate mentioned that MERC is absolutely awful for PvP. Basically, I'm a PvPer from other MMO's and do not wish to PvE much---what's the deal with MERC, is it worth finishing this toon, or should I just start leveling another character? Any advice/input would be apperciated, as I'm quite uncertain of which direction to go at this point. Thanks.
