  1. Schliesse mich an, selbes Problem.
  2. There would not be any problems if this Service did not have any users. And yes, there are users, many of them, and they are using the service all day long - making sure that every bug is found... Try to pay These amount of testers for only day before releasing a new patch. Software will never be bugfree if it is not very small.
  3. Absolutely /sign Systems will always break when you've just thaught - "wow, everything is running really fine now" or when it is the last day at work before your next holiday trip - believe me, I'm ICT Manager
  4. Hey, it's patch tuesday - seems they are using Windows as Server OS and Exchange for InGame-Mail :-)

    Gildenbank

  8. Of course guild taxes should be allowed to be enabled/disabled and set by the guild itself - so every guild can use it how they want. But I would disagree about generating extra credits only for that feature as it allows guilds to "generate credits" just by setting a high percentage value for the guild tax. If one plays in a guild he should be able to some some percent of his income to the guild giving him a home and some advantages. False player ratings will not make a great difference, let's say five out of one hundred ratings are false - you have 95 times 3-star and five times 1-star - results in an average of 2.9 stars and therefor does not matter. Guild members could be restricted so they can not rate their own guild's members. And grouping by Rating should only be used if there are enough people listed for the group finder to really make use of this feature. Community will make sure that the ratings will be fair, although there will be some players generally rating bad. And just to mention: I do not have problems with low level players or newbies as I walked this path 2 years ago by myself. Suggestions must always be discussed inside EA/Bioware to make sure the game keeps balanced...
  9. Depends on your existing harddisk (very slow?), if that's the real problem - yes, SSD would help. If your hard disk is already fast, the SSD will not give you the performance boost you are waiting for in SWTOR. Try to think about your PC/Notebook as a Whole - every piece must fit together with the other pieces. If you can put a system together with the best of bread components and at the same time you are using a really bad and slow Mainboard - you will never get a really good performance. Same for SSD - an ultra-high performance SATA-3 SSD in a SATA-2 system will work and probably speed up your OS, but it will not give you optimal performance... But if you are asking such questions, would you be able to integrate the SSD by yourself, and set all necessary OS options when switching from rotating memory to flash memory to make it work like it should? If not - do not try it alone and ask someone who knows better about, he can get an insight into your existing system and will find the bottleneck faster than we can do in this forum
  10. - guild taxes, to be set as percentage without generating extra credits - simple player rating System - everyone finishing a FP/OP can rate the other players from one to five stars, so group finder can group against your own rating plus minus one, if there are enough willing people for the group finder online - a quest you can accept when you reach the end of chapter 3, which will guide you through the post-1.0 content (taking you to the quests, storylines, flashpoints and operations) in the proper story-line order. bundling together what makes sense (e.g. macrobinocular, seeker droid, HK-51 parts could be done in one sweep around the galaxy) - guild housing additions: a guild board for posting official guild information, group mailing inside the guild, guild rules picture on the wall, which can be read by interacting with, guild calendar for planning which can contain official SWTOR announcements - and my favorite: TeamSpeak Integration, which can be enabled on personal preference; putting you inside your guild channel, your party or op group automatically when joining
  11. Ah, someone who does code and networking - never met someone who can do both equally with the same good results... So please let Your mind light us the way how it could be done without having a backend, operating system environment,, server hardware, storage and network being capable to operate an intercontinental no-downtime failover cluster . I just hope You are coding only VBA and not a real programming language...
  12. Just to put my 2 Cents in as I am Systems Engineer: You just can't put one big single server at one place, if the needed hardware for that has not been invented or the software does not allow all-active clustering. Some examples: If you need 64 x86-based CPUs to handle this load and do not have all-active clustering, it is impossible, as no single server has this hardware power. If an all-active clustering is possible you could connect all nodes and use one virtual ip address serving one single workload, with proper backend (storage) and network virtualization in place, it would be possible to move this workload around the globe in real time without downtime and let it run just where the sun is going down in the Moment. But it is always feature-dependant on the server software to be able to do all-active clustering, it is operating System/hyper visor dependant if you can move the workload without downtime, it is storage dependant if you can move it to another datacenter on another continent and it is network dependant if you need to reconnect afterwards. Do not think this is a simple step if it has not been planned for during the development of the whole backend. Just to build a Hyper-V 2012R2 Cluster in a single datacenter from ground up until it is production ready (including management tools) takes months... without rolling out a single application.
