Personally I find this question to be too general since it seems to be asking for an absolute. It might "matter" to one person and "not matter" to another.

I actually do get pm's from players asking where they can get the crystal. And I checked, I didn't say anything about impressing anyone, you sound a little butthurt, jealous even. Also, I don't think anyone cares in the slightest what you personally register. Zing!

You're damn right Are you under the impression this a bad thing?

I would rather the newbies not have the crystal, it would make it harder to tell who has truly been there since the beginning.

I know someone who spent 3 times that and didn't get one. On my servers GTN it barely dips below 3 mill, reason being its super rare, and everyone wants it. They WANT you to spend buttloads of cash to try and get it.
