  1. That's nice at least. I would rather have preferred that to the pseudo-ceremonies we did get, tbh.
  2. Of the "new" (post vanilla story) there's Theron, of course, as he reaches that at the same point as Lana. Of the vanilla romances, off the top of my head, you can reach the marriage point - in the vanilla story - with Malavai Quinn, Vector, Corso Riggs, Torian Cadera, Doc, Felix Iresso, Kaliyo, Elara Dorne, Arik Jorgan ... and those are just the ones I remember. You don't exactly get much of a ceremony with any of them, at least not that I'm aware of. I know there's a sort of ceremony with Doc and Corso Riggs but other than that I don't recall anything. Just, "Let's get married" .. "Ok!" .. *poof* married.
  3. *rolls eyes* It's not the choice that's the problem, it's how they implemented it and you know that. It should be blindingly obvious to both factions that something is seriously wrong. They should at least be suspicious that your character, who has succeeded at so many seemingly impossible tasks, is now blundering right and left. But no, apparently everything is totally fine! The cognitive dissonance should be making their heads explode. The longer the saboteur storyline goes on, the worse it gets. If BioWare wasn't ready to actually have a faction switch, they shouldn't have started the saboteur line yet. If they're never going to allow a faction switch, they shouldn't have started the saboteur storyline at all. It's already past the point where I can take the faction leaders seriously. They're jokes now and should be replaced.
  4. It gets worse. Despite your character's past track record of doing amazing things, every time your character gets sent on missions you somehow manage to fail them and no one suspects. They're all like, "Oh noes! How could this happen! It must be this other person's fault!" ... because it couldn't possibly be the person who almost never fails at anything but now is failing everything, no that's not suspicious. The longer the saboteur thing goes on the more ridiculous it becomes. *sigh*
  5. He's not contesting the thread, he's simply correcting you on what a TL;DR is. He's being pedantic, which usually has a negative connotation but honestly I like that about SteveTheCynic
  6. *sigh* The insults are unnecessary. OP, call those who disagree with you "braindead" or "lobotomized" all you want but you are not better than they are. You are not stronger. You are not smarter. You are simply a person who plays a video game. You like to play one way and they like to play a different way. That's it. Your way is not more valid. Your words in this thread make you look small minded and petty. With all of the insults in your earlier posts, you simply come across as someone trying to rile everyone else up and not someone actually looking for a solution to the issue. Stop it. Be a better person. In my opinion, the best way to handle this is to give people options. As someone else suggested, allow people to cap or uncap Presence. Or, even better, allow people to use a sliding scale so they can adjust the power of the companions to their desired strength. Most people, I think, would be happier with this.
  7. Sounds better than how the saboteur storyline is going, tbh. =p
  8. As I recall, it's also tied to an achievement so completionists probably want it for that reason, not the actual effect itself. I know I'd like the achievement but not enough to pay that much or farm something with a 0.00000001% (yes, exaggerated) drop rate.
  9. There never really was a huge amount of marketing for this game after launch, tbh. But you'd think with their "omg 1 year long celebration for 10th anniversary and new expansion" there'd be ... just a little more. Honestly for my part I feel completely apathetic towards this expansion for a variety of reasons. From my dissatisfaction with how the "double agent" arc is going (and no actual real faction switching in sight) , to hearing about ability pruning, to the lack of non-moddable gear, to the highest item level gear being restricted once again to raiding. None of this is appealing to me and even though the expansion hasn't dropped yet I haven bothered to log in for months. As my sub will run through expansion release, I might go through and see the story but then, I might not. It has truly become one small "meh" for me, which is sad.
  10. No, the ability pruning won't be nice. I don't think we need more abilities but I don't think we need less either. Even if some abilities are niche, I still want to have the choice. People have the choice to remove abilities from hotbars if they don't want them.
  11. I might be more charitable if you would stop bumping your own ideas one minute after you post them and saying they're amazing.
  12. As long as it's a toggle that we can turn off if we *don't* want our companions creepily copying what we do, then sure.
  13. I've been playing since launch. The only nostalgia I have about that time are the people I played with then. Not the game mechanics. There have been too many QoL improvements for me to ever want to play on a vanilla server. Also, citing "realism" is ... amusing.
  14. I haven't posted much lately and so I haven't said much with regards to 7.0. Heck, I haven't even been playing much lately. I like the sound of the class changes .. combat styles? Whatever. I do NOT like pruning abilities. I do NOT like the sound of the new gearing system. Restricting moddable shells to just OPs seems like an asinine move. I also liked being able to get BiS gear even if I didn't need it. That said, if I like the story and I can get gear that's good enough to do the story without making it an annoying slog then I will stay. I think it's a bad move restricting BiS to OPs though. And, even though I personally hate PVP, I am concerned about how this gearing method will affect those who enjoy PVP.
  15. You're making a lot of assumptions with this. For one ... which emperor? Valkorion? The one we killed? And then killed again? And then killed again? I guess they could bring him back for, what, a fourth time? I've lost track to be honest. But bringing him back *again* would be really lame. Or maybe the new emperor of the Sith, Vowrawn? Except that it's not always Vowrawn, it could be Acina. And then you're assuming that Vowrawn/Acina want to drain the galaxy of all life or are even capable of doing so. And then you're assuming that all player characters are dark side because you say in your first sentence that we'd be helping the emperor because we follow the dark side. And you're assuming that all player characters are Force users. I mean while KotFE/KotET stories seemed (to me) to be more suited to Force users, they did add in the heavy handed "Valkorion is in your head and allowing you a Force connection" for the non-Force users. What would be the excuse this time?
