  1. Ah, my most favorite, helpful comment the forums have to offer. That is, if you're looking for no help and want to be subtly left to feel inadequate.
  2. You're right- nothing new in GW2 (and definitely nothing new here in TOR), Rift has done it all before, is doing it now, and will be handling all innovation in the future. GW2 has that whole "no subscription" thing that makes me drool a little. So even if it can't hold a candle to Rift (no MMO can at this point), I'll still be playing it.
  3. are they listening? perhaps we should keep bumping the thread.
  4. 1. Rift 2. Rift 3. Rift 4. Rift 5. GW2 Everything that SWTOR should be, Rift is. The world in Rift virtually lives & breathes and seems boundless. Everything is instanced, isolated, and empty in SWTOR; the world/s don't feel alive. Rift has an amazing stream of new, innovative content coming in on a regular, consistent basis- don't know when the devs sleep over there! SWTOR updates are crawling out with more hype than substance. Rift is (imho) simply the most beautiful MMO there is, by leaps and bounds- both graphically and artistically. It's better looking than most single-player games too. SWTOR looks like the graphics update that WoW should have implemented with Cataclysm. Catering to casual players with eMachines is fine and kindly, but it wouldn't hurt to pander a little to the core audience- gamers. Many of us like to actually use our graphics cards from time to time. Rift has more content in 1 year than most MMOs have after several years. SWTOR has about 3 months worth of content after... well, more than 3 months now. It sure doesn't help to know that a huge chunk of the BioWare team will now be greeting us at the front door of the Austin Walmart! I like SWTOR but I feel like I beat the game without even trying. I've never felt like I finished an MMO before until now. I might play again, but I won't pay again... not for this one. Now, speaking of playing and paying... I hear this Guild Wars 2 game has no subscription? Do tell me more!
  5. This official podcast will fit in nicely with all the unofficial ones. I would ask that you make this available on Stitcher (which is available online, via iOS, and Android devices).
  6. Duh, it is called the OLD Republic! Now, with everything you mentioned that is wrong with the game (in a nutshell, it's not WoW) may I suggest you try out WoW. It has everything you seem to want in a game.
  7. I'll be honest, it's almost baffling how after all the letters, spaces, and words put into this post- this is the best you could do. Just in general, everything together, this is underwhelming to say the least..... What a disappointment.....
  8. It's fun as a break from questing and grinding. It could be better. There's every reason to think that BioWare could improve upon it. I suspect it will get better down the road. But here's what I want to see: Pod Racing! It could be done in a similar fashion (against AI), with other players (for rewards that scale with place), and best of all- there could be pvp races where there is not only the racing aspect, but being able to sabotage and interfere with other players as you race to the finish line. Oh please Santa...
  9. It doesn't matter if I pray or you pray, this game will last a year easily with or without an LFG feature. Perhaps YOU won't be playing this game in a year if they don't add the LFG. But the game will still be here. Amen
  10. I feel the OP's pain- I bought 7 copies of the CE to play on my $22,000 computer running 5 3-D monitors... No worky. I even drove 3 of my $450,000 Ferraris to 4 Best Buy's to interface with 30 Geek Squad dudes to assist me. No go. What gives BioWare?! I would think that if I throw enough money and power at something, it should just work the way I want it to.
  11. Look I'm all for offering constructive criticism, as you do; you make some interesting points with thoughtful suggestions. Here's my issue- the post headline. There's so much sensationalism in these forums (e.g. THIS GAME SUCKS, 10 reasons SWTOR will fail, etc.). I don't see why you have to get our attention by using the negative. Why not say something like, "SWTOR is a good game. Here's how I would make it better," or something to that effect? Let's give these hardworking developers a little room to grow! They just got out of the gate and from what I've experienced (as a weathered MMO player), this game, even with the flaws some have found (and the bugs), is pretty darn amazing. Throw a little love at those developer boys and girls, give them a little positive reinforcement and then offer some helpful ideas. Threatening to leave the game is what behaviorists call negative reinforcement- "Be better or I will hit you." Positive reinforcement works better- Great job guys! Can't wait to see what you do next... Here's some ideas. Peace
  12. My question to those almost or at 50... How do you afford your monthly subscriptions without jobs?
