  1. I both agree and disagree with this. I have been in product marketing for some time and have a good understanding of how that works. Bioware marketed SWTOR primarily as an Imp-centric game before it was launched. The ads and stunts they ran at that time confirm this. Before you launch a product, you comb through your target market(s) with a fine-tooth comb and then change your product based on what likely customers will purchase, but not so much that you alienate others. Their research likely led them to the conclusion that the more committed players would play Imperial. As such, you give the majority of your marketing dollars to those players to attract as many of them as possible but just enough to the minority as well. BUT...where I disagree is in how marketing can make you change your mind. Bioware could easily make the Empire less cool or the Republic more so through story changes. For example, making the Empire more Nazi Germany-like, just as George Lucas envisioned it, would almost certainly alienate players too many). Similarly, making the Republic less like a semi-corrupt, boring EU and more like Raynor's Raiders in Starcraft 2, would probably attract more people to that side. In other words, marketers can and do influence your decisions. Bioware has it within their power to fix faction balance; I'm just not sure they see it as such.
  2. Kinda like your showing on the Harbinger, right? News of your debaucle there has reached many, many people. You were absolutely destroyed in the first few matches. Wait, wasn't like kinda like Don't Panic's many streams of your defeat after defeat after defeat, too?
  3. If anything I feel like Pubs are winning more than they were a few months ago but there isn't any large Pub guild to say that that is why. I remember in January not losing to a Pub team for something like 20 straight games on my PT. There are good Pubs in guilds that used to be much larger: Hostile Takeover, Hoth Ski Patrol. They don't queue much. Rude Dudes and Exodus have great players but don't see them much either. Just make a note of good players and invite them. As many people have said, the big guild days are dead.
  4. It's because you are bringing up a topic that has the most replies of any in the PVP thread, if not the entire forums: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=544543
  5. I also was playing Pub side here in the early mornings before classes. It's changed pretty quickly in the matter of a few weeks. I used to get in groups with Goof Troop or My Ninjas Pub side a lot during that time and would win at least 90% of my matches. Their winning seemed to cause Imps to get on their Pubs and then tons and tons of Pub v. Pub matches would ensue. This pattern went on for a few months. Surprisingly, many of the Goof Troop people I used to see in the mornings I now face on my PowerTech on POT5. It seems that many of them have transferred. Why they did so I don't know when that server is so Imp dominated but they're actually doing pretty well over there. Now I see hardly any of the Pub guilds on in the mornings over here.
  6. Pretty sure that's the group Exodus. My Vanguard is on the Harbinger. My PowerTech is here. Been going up against people I know were on Harb. They are doing pretty well in both regs and solo ranked. Not top tier here but they are giving some nice competition from the Pub side, especially their healers.
  7. I present to you the typical SWTOR pug...clueless.
  8. Don't recognize those guild names but to answer the above question, this is probably a 70/30 server, with Pubs winning 70% of the time in regs. It does, however, completely depend on who is on.
  9. Yeah the quitting is definitely worse than it used to be. However, it's not worse Pub side. Late afternoon to early evening server time today (3 to 7) was quite possibly the worst I have seen it for the Empire since like November. Three matches in a row were won quickly by the Pub team I was on because the Empire quit early on for who knows why. No one likes winning matches towards their weekly like that. This totally reminds me of playing Pub side on POT5 and why I empathized with Imps today.
  10. Yes, Goof Troop loses but generally the only times I've seen them get "stomped" is when they're facing two good double premades and they have to contend with four or five pugs. This happened twice in a row the other day but there was no **** talking from any of them nor the Imp teams who beat them (I know, I was one of those casual pugs on Goof's team).
  11. This is the only server that is Pub dominated. Literally the only one. if there's anything sad, it's that. Can't Pubs at least have ONE server? Bastion is no longer competitive and neither is TOFN. This game is Imp dominated except here.
  12. So it's pretty easy to get a group of 4 together Imp side and be the only 4 who make it into a match. This has created imbalanced solo ranked teams over the past few days, teams that really should be queuing 4 v 4, especially when 4 to 5 times as many queue Pub side. Solution? Whenever we see this my buddy and I are gonna go Imp side and queue up on our ridiculously under geared toons. Oh we'll fight to win for sure, but with little to no PVP gear and 25k HP it won't be pretty.
  13. Actually Imps won the majority of matches this morning (server time). 'Twas the Pubs who sucked.
  14. Hi this is Android posting, #1. I've recently quit the game but decided to step in on this because were being trash talked. #2. I have no idea where the "queueing with pugs" came from or if you're talking about Gladium or Chem X but, Chem X never queued with pugs when we faced you. #3. No idea where this bad blood between us started? #4. Keep Chem X out of this, you lost fairly. We never used the Relic like people were saying we did. Only our TANK used it not knowing what it did. Also, the relic is a BiS tanking relic. Our healer, our dps, and myself ( dps ) did not use the relic even when we knew what it did and after the fact we knew what it did we had our tank switch it for a new relic. This includes matches when <Zen> used it against us thinking we were using it. In reality, you guys were the ones using it, not us. #5 When you say taking " rounds " against us that has a plural on it. That means you took more than one round against us. Which actually never happened to begin with. You only took one " round " from us with a pug from Project Mayhem that included Saito, Vod'ka, Isis, and yourself, Ikarie. Remember how you used relics in this match? I'm 100% certain Vod'ka and Saito used them, I'm 85% certain you used it because you made posts about it on the forums after the match saying the relic was bugged and you tested it. Isis i'm not sure he used it though because I know he was against the relics, but who knows? Just to make it clear once again: even when you used relics against us we never used against you back. We won the match fairly without the relic but even with the aid of a glitched immortal relic you still lost. Don't pretend you aren't guilty. Not to mention after the match you yourself linked it asking if we used the relic. I meant what I said when it wasn't plural. We lost a round with Vhagar which was our off-tank that was partisian geared when Bail wasn't on. ( I'm fairly certain it was with him but if it wasn't correct me) If you still consider that a legitmate loss not against our " A-team " (Bailrtian, Grim, Hyzenborg { the actual person }, and Android ) so be it. #6. Our healer was actually the most against the use of it and we had IRL drama happening with some of the people so, no, he didnt just " quit " because the relic was fixed which we never used in the first place. To make it more clear to you because it seems you're kind of the thick-headed type we kept queueing when we could, even with pugs (Yolk, Krakyn, Bruheebi on our healers account). #7. We have more then enough footage of beating <Zen> and your pugs fairly without the relic. ( Orbital Station, Tatooine's Canyon, etc. ) #8. Just because you seem like you won't stop arguing about who won or lost heres some actual footage of it : http://youtu.be/1Y02zqrHqXM?t=5m33s ( Grizz, Ami, Sindol, & Christinia) More footage being uploaded atm will post more soon but this is all I have right now. ^^ Also not featuring <Zen> matches but healer POV so you can see he isn't using relic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e364CtDtCs #9. Leave <Chem X> out of this thread we left the server for a reason and this was one of them. People are way too sensitive here for some reason. We quit and this happened a month ago doesn't make sense as to why this conversation is happening now. Personally, I thought this was cleared about when you accused of us using it the first time we beat you and I said the exact thing i'm saying now. Just because we left doesn't mean we don't still read the forums. None of this trash talk happened when we were around, hmm? And finally, this is last time and only time were going to post here. Chem X wishes everyone a goodbye. P.S. : We moved to pub side to play with some of our old friends there. Never to form a competitive ranked team which 1-2 weeks later we ended up quitting due to Wildstar Beta coming out soon and SWTOR being boring as f***. It's over get over it and move on. As I said before, why is this being brought up a month after these events took place? I'm a little confused tbh. Anyways, Chem X and I wish everyone on TEH a goodbye.
